Exceptional hot chocolate mix
Normally do not leave reviews, but this hot chocolate is exceptional. I like that the first ingredient is cocoa, not sugar as the reverse order often means a drink that is too sweet. It blends well with milk, makes a smooth, slightly thick drinking chocolate. If you like an Italian-style hot chocolate, you will enjoy this Venezuelan hot chocolate mix. Thank you Amara. If you ever make a larger bag, or sell to the trade, please let us know.

Decadent premium hot chocolate
Delicious hot chocolate! Tastes way better than Swiss Miss chocolate. Not super sweet. Kids approve! Both my kids ask for it and enjoy it with milk (makes great chocolate milk!) The best part is that you can adjust how strong the flavor is by adding more or less scoops. Wish it would come with a scooper but oh well. At least it comes with a nice clip. Tip: I put it in a ziplock bag so that the powder wouldn’t get everywhere and to keep it fresh. My teen son says it tastes as if you melted a bar of dark chocolate in a cup. There is a bit of a bitter aftertaste but otherwise it is very good. I like the rich flavor and how smooth it is. It kind of tastes like a chocolate flavored coffee, probably would taste good added to coffee but I haven’t tried that yet as I’m not much of a coffee drinker. Anyway, we really liked this cocoa powder. It didn’t disappoint. Shipped quickly, which is a plus😊

Best hot chocolate - why does it smell like air freshener?
Delicious hot chocolate that I have been drinking for years. However, this time it arrived smelling like it had been sprayed with an air freshener like Febreze. Most Amazon orders arrive at my house now smelling like this. Amazon, are you spraying your warehouses? Please stop! Only air fresheners and detergents should smell this scented.

Great Cocoa!
The first thing you'll notice about this is that the first ingredient is cocoa and not sugar. It makes it so that you're not buying a bag of sugar with cocoa. The sweetness is not overpowering like you would have on chocolate milk or other hot cocoa mixes. You'll taste the cocoa first then the sweetness. I use two scoops and that's the right amount for me. I was able to just mix it with a spoon even though it says use a whisk. Another thing I liked about this is that there is no dairy in it. Most "good" cocoa you see always has milk powder or such in it. This is good if you're lactose intolerant, can't stand milk or I guess vegan. You get to decide what kind of milk you want to put it in, or if you want a more "old world" way of drinking it, just water. It's still good. If you're one of the people like me who thinks chocolate should be about the flavor not the sweetness then this should be good. Sure it's still sweet but not so much. You can even do a stove top mixing and add more dark unsweetened cocoa powder for a less sweet and more bite and flavor. I would say it's definitely worth the money, but it's really up to you and how much you use at a time. It could last you a while or just several days if you get addicted to it lol.

Best Thing for Your Choco-holism
Several months ago, I had the pleasure of drinking this beautiful stuff at their brick-and-mortar shop. That experience was so life-changing that I knew I had to have it on hand for urgent cravings. Not just because I'm a chocolate fiend, but because, after trying it, I can no longer drink regular ol' hot chocolate. I have to have THIS. Admittedly, it was a little bit insane of me to order this so close to the holidays, when I find myself inundated with treats on a daily basis. But, then, not really, when you consider how much higher-quality this is than anything you can get elsewhere. It's so much thicker and richer, with a velvety texture. AND it actually tastes like cocoa, which I cannot say for any other brand I have tried. They've done a marvelous job of balancing chocolate with sweetness, so you really feel like you're experiencing something substantial. So substantial, in fact, that I can never finish the full 8-oz serving. The directions on the package say to refrigerate and drink it cold later. That's one way. I also put a little bit on some vanilla ice cream. Sacrilegious? Maybe. But it was better than any hot fudge sauce I've ever bought at the store. By the way, I recommend the stovetop method, not just because you get to watch as the chocolate thickens and becomes the treat you are about to enjoy, but because it makes your house smell INCREDIBLE for hours. (Or days, if you're like me and leave the unwashed pan sitting on the stove until morning.)

Best Hot Cocoa Mix
Here's what I love about this hot cocoa mix: (1) great dark chocolate flavor; (2) not too sweet; (3) sugar is very finely granulated, so mixing with warm milk is a cinch. For the quality, it's actually a good value - doesn't take a lot to make a nice dark cup of cocoa. Will be buying again (and again).

The best drinking chocolate ever!
I discovered this fabulous drinking chocolate about 3 years ago, and while I have tried a few other brands of "premium" drinking chocolate, Amara chocolate has spoiled me for any other brand! I don't know if it would be to everyone's liking, but it is perfect for me and my tastes. I love a very rich, very dark and multi-layered chocolate, that isn't too sweet, and this one fits the bill for me exactly! And not only that, but it is also nice and thick, and very smooth, due to the cocoa butter in the ingredients. I just can't say enough good things about this chocolate! I drink it at least several times a week, even in the summer. I love it so much, and I would be SO SAD if this company ever stopped making this product! Another thing I love about Amara, is that the delivery time is so fast. I place my order, and it's here at my door in 2 days. Such great service! But I would say if you prefer a sweeter, not so strong chocolate, then this would probably not be the one for you.
