New lumber 2x4s and 2x6s it will sink 16 penny coated nails pretty much every time. Now new lumber attached to 30 year plus Douglas Fir it will stall out pretty often. Two notes, hearing protection is needed and the rotating head can inadvertently slip when your trying to lean into it.
