Great doorbell camera!
I had a blink before this, that one didn't impress me really and towards the end I hated it. It kept unsycing from module and rarely worked or notified me of visitors. This one has been great! Works great with my reolink camera system. I also got the chime too. I like that you can customize the doorbell and have other customization options. I also like that it'll detect if there's a package at the door. Great picture quality both day and night. Connection to the camera from the app has been just fine.

Solid Doorbell Camera
Works as it should. Mounted on wall sideways 90 deg. looking across the door - image and view are just fine due to the fish eye type lens. Things I like 1) that it uses my old push button power and rings my old chime 2) doesn’t require a subscription 3) the app and notifications are good. Only complaint I wish it could suppress the notifications when I’m home via geofencing or something.

Buggy and problematic
This is either defective or really buggy. The other issue is that it is really slow to "wake" and start recording. It's very common to have a delivery suddenly appear on my porch since the camera won't start recording until several seconds after there is movement in the view, regardless of how sensitive it is set. This also means it would be really easy to walk up to the porch, take a package and walk off without being recorded at all. Reolink support told me this is normal. The other big problem is the battery. I have this hardwired into a 24V doorbell wire and the battery still drains away. If I try increasing the sensitivity, the camera will go dead overnight. This seems strange to me. If I were engineering this, I would make it so that its battery is only used when power is not supplied. Finally, it has blind spots. Regardless of settings, the edges of the view will not detect movement. For me, this means I can stand in full view of the camera in front of my door, but never be detected and recorded.

Good Product But Some Issues
Once major thing to keep in mind is that this doorbell camera is HUGE! It is the largest doorbell camera I have had. I have tried 3 other ones, and they were all smaller and lighter. The other thing to keep in mind is that the chip that holds the recording is right on the doorbell. The problem with that is that anyone can rip off the doorbell and take the recording with them. My one other brand had it where the recording was inside the house which prevented this problem. So, one star off for that major issue. The doorbell was fairly easy to setup. The quality is there as well as value for the money. Do keep in mind, you do not have to subscribe to a monthly plan. Even with the above issues, I still would recommend this product

Best doorbell cam for the money
Great camera, exactly what we were looking for. It is battery powered, but not with replaceable batteries. It charges using usb-c. Works great, has a wide view from the camera lense.

Second revision 11/27/25 Sent a new unit, please read.
Second revision to original review: 11/27/25 Reolink sent me a replacement to try. It stays connected to the internet better. It is not perfect but it is better than the one I originally purchased. I have not decided whether I will keep it or not. But I do want to increase my rating on this product. I'm taking my original 1 star rating and now rating at 3 stars. Mostly because the company was willing to try and work with me to resolve the many issues this doorbell/camera had. But the replacement is better than the original. I asked if it was an upgrade and I was told, "No, it was not an upgrade." 3 stars Reolink Camara/Doorbell is not staying connected to the internet. All other devices are working properly. It pains me to have to change my review from a 4 star review to a 2 star review or less. I'm getting tired of setting it up again only to have the connection dropped and have to go through reset up procedure again and then have it be dropped in an hour or less. Not too happy at the moment with this security/doorbell/camara system. Possibly a software update could help to stabilize the shoddy internet connection on this device. This device does not offer a reliable or stable internet connection from your router. It continuously drops the connection. It is not much good if you can't stay connected! I have two other separate camera surveillance systems mounted. A total of 4 cameras. I maintain these flawlessly and they never lose internet connection. Anyway, I cannot remember the last time I had one of these systems go down or lose connection. This Riolink doorbell/camara system is up one minute then disconnected the next. Once disconnected, you have to go through the arduous set up process all over again taking down the doorbell/camera and rescanning the code on the back of the device. Do you want to be doing this every 5 minutes? I sure don't! What a mess! This Riolink system is about 8 feet away from my dual band router that works flawlessly. My other security cameras are much further away and they never lose connection. There is something seriously flawed with this Reolink, battery operated, WIFI, camara/doorbell system. It just plain doesn't work! It will be getting returned soon! I'm not messing with it anymore. It is just a piece of junk at this point! Please do not waste your money or time on this garbage. It looks nice, but it does NOT function correctly or at all! One other thing that seems small at the moment after everything that has been mentioned above. But before I mention it, I'm not sure that any of these defects in the system could be repaired by a software upgrade. I believe that most of the problems here are hardware related. Meaning it is just terrible design and implementation. How much was carelessness and how much was intentional. But if most of the design flaws are hardware related, there is just no way getting around that and improving this disaster. Now what I was going to mention is that even when it is working and you are able to get a live picture outside, after 3 or 4 seconds, the picture itself will scramble and change distorting what you originally were seeing. Even the color of the image will change. That, in and of itself, is extremely annoying. It should not be doing this. So many problems with this system that it is hard to know where to start. Stay away from this! Won't even scan the QR code!

It Sees All and Tells All
This REOLINK doorbell is an absolute tank. The 150°x150° head-to-toe view? It’s so good, I’m pretty sure it can see the disappointment in my soul when the delivery driver drops off junk mail instead of a package. The best part is definitely the no subscription needed! It’s nice to have a camera that doesn't want to get into a long-term financial relationship with me. Installation was easy—just remember that if you got the wired version, the "few days to fully charge" isn't a suggestion; it's a silent, non-negotiable staring contest with your power outlet. Now, for the fun part: the fine-tuning. Get ready to spend a delightful weekend teaching your camera the difference between an actual intruder and a rogue tumbleweed, or a falling leaf. You will receive many, many notifications. Your phone will vibrate so much, you'll think you're living inside a pinball machine. But once you’ve successfully tamed the notification beast, this camera is great. You can truly see all, from the top of the mailman's hat to the state of their shoes. Just charge it up, set aside some time for the notification therapy, and enjoy your new, vigilant electronic sentry. Highly recommend!

So far love Reolink
We found a few doorbell cameras. This seems to be one of the best that I’ve used so far. In our business, we ended up installing the Reolink camera system between the app and the NVR. I’ve loved the functionality and how it integrated with my phone so I decided to try the doorbell. Camera works just as well. It’s another added camera to the app which is a great feature you don’t need something separate. Anyone looking to add a doorbell camera there’s two styles one with a battery and one that’s hardwired I suggest going with the battery because it can also be hardwired to keep the battery charged what you gain with that is my Wi-Fi is on battery back up so if you lose power in the house, my doorbell camera, and my Wi-Fi are still connected. If you use hardwire only your doorbell will not work.
