I absolutely loved this tank but it stopped working 5 months in. The water flow completely stopped working out of no where. For it to stop working so quickly it’s not worth the price. Originally gave them a lower rating but their customer support was 10/10! They helped me with my problem so I will definitely be buying from them again.

The aquarium is good and nice in size but the filter system in here is horrible!!!! I bought this product in May and have been cleaning the filter as needed and now it’s completely off. My tank now smells and my fish will probably die! I had to order another filter system but by the time it arrives I don’t think my fish will make it.

I love this aquarium. It has a wonderful pump system. It’s very pretty and it has all colors where you can make them brighter or darker. It is just a very nice aquarium. I think anybody who buys it will be pleased with it. I have it for my small line she picked out beta and she seems to be really happy in it.

update: 4 months... The pump has failed entirely. That means no filter or oxygenation either. The sale posting has been withdrawn. Just another cheap piece of junk. It's quite a bit fancier than the goldfish bowl it replaced. Sometimes fancy is good. Sometimes it can be annoying. What it does well: Once you get it set up... the pump recirculation water through a stacked filter. A layer of fiber pad seives out particulates, uneaten food, etc. A filter containing zeolite and activated charcoal remove chlorine, chloramine and a number of other chemically active toxins. A third stage provides mineral water conditioners (of unspecified type) to give the water the appropriate mineral hardness. It works... It isn't elegant. I can understand why some folks find it hard to assemble correctly in spite of the instructions. The entire thing feels absolutely fragile in my hands... I do not have small, delicate hands. While I was sorting out what went where, I constantly had the fear of holding it too firmly lest I break it.

Bought this May 22, 2025 and here we are at September 11, 2025 and the whole lid - lights, thermometer, filter/pump has stopped working. Amazon gave me an email address to get help with the issue. Waiting on a return message. At first we liked the tank and felt it was a decent purchase given the cost. The top tends to come off on one side when you raise the lid. When this happens, you are forced to take the whole lid off and reseat the lid feet back into the tank at the same time so the lid sits level. I think this is an issue because the cords come out of the tank on that side which works the lid foot out when you raise it. When you are feeding your fish you have to be extra careful in raising the lid to keep it from coming off. To me, this is a negative for the tank. It gets the filter all knocked around and is just a hassle . It would be a nightmare if we had small children wanting to feed the fish. At lease we are all high school and older in our household. I will try and update once we see if they will replace the top or tank. Until then, I can only give it one star since we didn't even make it four months.

The glass quality is excellent, the pump is silent, and the color light creates a perfect atmosphere. Ideal for small spaces.

Beyond frustrated with this tank. When I was moving, my dear husband put my little 5 gallon beta tank on top of a dresser and did not strap it to anything. Needless to say, one sharp right turn later and the tank flew and poor Fred was flopping around on the floor of a U-Haul van. I rushed to 7-eleven , ran in grabbed some filtered water and a 7-11 big gulp cup. Fred lived there for 24 hours until I ordered this tank. As tanks go it was pretty cool to look at, different colored lights , the lid went up and down with ease. The sound of the water dropping as it filtered was peaceful and serene. However , it was a pain in the a** to clean. And after 2 months the filter is already dead. If you don’t get the same exact filter pump it won’t close let alone work properly. Now it was only $30. But I can just keep switching tanks every two months. Unless you are using the tank as a terrarium or turtle tank maybe … but the filter will not last.. and now I have to get (this super hero fish that has survived the apocalypse as far as fish go) another new tank…
