Perfect
I teach maths and finance and have often talked to students about building a Galton board. All of the ones I have seen for purchase in the past have been very large and costly. This one is perfect, I can bring it into the classroom and the students can use it, I have also produced a slow-motion video of it in action to show to students if I don't have it with me. Great, great, great

Interesting and cool
It shows the bell curve really well. I will use it for classes about calibration at work. Shows really well also if you offset it (just putting a pen under one side) Only bad thing is that the single brass ball is sometimes getting stuck.

Sturdy, satisfying and fun
I love having this on my desk. It's a fun visualisation any math/stats nerd will love.

great geeky present, for the dad who loves statistics and has everything
A great gift idea or educational tool demonstrating standard deviation. Really interactive and well made.

expensive plastic nonsense
For the price of ~ยฃ60 you'd at least expect it to feel like quality with glass rather than plastic like some throw-away toy you get out of a christmas cracker

It's a fabulous piece of art presenting math, a true sight to behold.
Truly astonishing. Splendid work from the inventor and the maker and the distributor. Good job. You see, the balls fall off the cone through an obstacle of pegs that are evenly distributed like, what we call Pascal's triangle forming a rather nice statistical property which is shown as a curved line at the bottom. Presenting the wonders of order through chaos.

High quality.
High quality product. It would've been better if it could release one bead at the time. Very informative note inside the box.

This thing is tiny, minute, not suitable to demonstrate to others
I had seen Galton Boards on the internet in various videos, where the ball bearing cascaded down to illustrate a normal distribution (bell shaped curve). Being somebody who has to describe such statistical concepts to attending delegates, I was looking forward to receiving this - boy was I disappointed, it is a tiny little thing - each 'ball bearing' is like a pin head. Totally unsuitable for my needs, so will end up going to the boot sale when my wife has a tidy up. Why didn't I send it back ? - I'm going to attempt to send it back, but the description is not misleading so not sure if they will accept my moan. It states the weight in the description, but not the dimensions. The word 'desktop' is key with this item, what it is, is an executive toy to sit on your desk (like the old Newton's Cradles people had) next to your paper clips and stapler. I really want one of these things - but alas, I need to keep looking for a bigger one suitable for demonstrations.
