I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas: A Christmas Holiday Book for Kids

We got this as a gift for someone who loves the song. The book is the lyrics to the song in book form with matching artwork. That doesn’t sound very special at first thought. The artwork makes this book highly worthwhile. The watercolors are beautiful, the way the artist brings images from the song to life is enchanting, and the emotion and bond between the little girl and the hippo is really heartwarming. If you like the song, get it!

I *sing* this book year round. Every child loves it and every child says, “Again!” after each read through. Even the adults love it.

Bought to go with the hippo I bought my grandson bc he loved the song.

Such a cute book using the lyrics from the very old Christmas song! Colorful illustrations. I played the song several times on my cell phone and then my grandchildren and I try to sing through the book. Lots of fun!

Fun book for my grandnephew whose mom likes hippos. At his age (<1 year old), it's important the parents like the book as well.
