I’m using it with some Elac 6 inch bookshelves and the pre out to a 10 inch subwoofer for a simple vinyl listening setup. I noticed it’s very similar in price, looks, and specs to another amp called the Ampapa. Both have some cool features that the other does not though. They both have a tiny led screen that can be used as meters. I think the ampapa has more options for what you want your meters to look like, but besides that it appears the same. The Ampapa has swappable op amps for people who like to tinker, a cool glass top to see inside, and the thing that caught my attention the most, a true sub out. The Aiyima doesn’t have these features, but I don’t see myself tinkering with op amps so I don’t care about that. It has a pre out which can be ok for subwoofers but doesn’t allow you to tailor your system as much as the Ampapa. This is the only thing I miss and honestly the only feature that kept me looking at the Ampapa. What really sold me on the Aiyima is the DAC. It’s a pretty good DAC and it’s nice to have it built in. This makes the Aiyima more versatile. I am able to run optical out of my tv with music apps to the Aiyima when I don’t want to listen to vinyl. Overall, I love this little guy. I have other Aiyima amps without features as well and they have all been great. If it had the high pass filter on the speaker outputs like the Ampapa, it would be perfect. Review: Premium DAC with good output - This DAC is amazing - upgraded from a basic headphone jack AMP to using this with a direct USB connection from my PC and it sounds amazing. There is zero white noise and the sound is crisp and clear. I can crank it up louder than I can stand to listen with zero distortion. I'm using small ish speakers (Polk RM8), I've got it set at volume 50 playing music, at full volume it fills the house and I can't be in the same room. So subjectively it's got quite a bit of kick in terms of power output. No audible distortion all the way up except for the speakers themselves, and even that is less than I expected. Bluetooth connection is also crisp and clear, signal works on the other side of the house through multiple walls. I can't tell the difference over Bluetooth vs PC using the same hifi songs (44khz) I also really like the box itself, the screen display is really cool and the knob and controls are really intuitive. It also feels very sturdy and professional. Overall 10/10 ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Needs an adapter to use a subwoofer *by S***R on July 25, 2026* I bought this to replace a Fosi DA-2120C which happens to be made by Aiyima. Installation is straight forward almost identical to the Fosi. I just unplugged my cables from the one and into the other....except for the subwoofer out. The Fosi has a dedicated RCA out for the sub and the A80 has a 3.5mm output jack which required me to buy a 3.5mm to female rca adapter (see my pictures). The output on that jack is lower than on the Fosi so I had to increase the sub gain to hear it. I took a star away because it didn't come with a dedicated rca out or include the adapter to use the low level output. Honestly I almost sent it back because of this. The sound quality is much better than the Fosi, however, since this has the newer chipsets I expected for it to sound better. The dynamic range and sound stage is much better with everything I've listened to so far. The display is bright enough to be clearly seen with a light on, however, the VU meters barely move when I play music. The spectrum graph doesn't move at all when I play music unless I really turn it up which is beyond the volume that I use. Aiyima really needs to recalibrate the meters so they are useful at any listening level. Another thing missing is auto on when a signal is present. I use the toslink optical in and have to manually power it on, although it does has auto standby if no signal is present for 5 minutes. The unit size is more compact than the Fosi but it is taller but still clears my monitor. The power supply is GaN so it should run cooler with lower losses. I haven't connected anything via BT yet so I cannot comment on it. The amp itself runs on the hot side and after its been on a few minutes you can feel the heat radiating from the top of the case. I'm searching for a cooling fan that will work with it.
