Embark on Nathan Drake's greatest adventure in a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure; Evolved mechanics give players many fresh approaches to gameplay, including new rope and grappling mechanics, added climbing moves and equipment, and seamless fluidity between melee, stealth, and combat; Varied and richly detailed environments open up with multiple navigation paths to encourage exploration; For the first time in Uncharted history, drive vehicles during gameplay to make big moments even more spectacular and interactive. Disc Review: A great game and a fitting end to a brilliant series. - I purchased the Uncharted collection before playing this to get a better feel of the characters and the back story. However, is you have not played any previous versions of the game, then you will still be OK with this one as it does fill in some gaps along the way. This is the first game I have owned on the PS4 that really makes me think that this is a genuine next gen game, the graphics are simply stunning. Everything from the backdrops, the character movements, the animations and the cutscenes all show that it is a breathtaking masterpiece that could not really be done justice on the last gen machines. Gameplay is very similar to all previous Uncharted games, which is not a bad thing as previous players get an instant feel of the game mechanics. If you have never played an Uncharted game before, then you can still play as there are hints galore along the way to help. If you are unsure of what to do or where to go, you get hints to help you, so everyone can progress through the story. There are 3 new things that you can do in this game, which you learn early on. You can slide down steep slopes like roofs and mud slopes, and can steer somewhat to get where you want to go. You have a grappling Hook so that you can throw the rope to attach to poles and branches to swing from one place to the other, pull yourself up, lower yourself down or ties it to something and pull it. The other new thing is a sneak attack, where you hide in tall grass and bushes, and as enemies come near you grab and pull them down - I like trying to do levels without being seen or firing a single shot. There are a lot of cutscenes in this game, probably more than the last 3 put together, but although long at times, it is worth watching as you get the full story, also the game loads during the cutscenes, and it will be a continuous fluid play through with no loading times if you watch them. There is also a multiplayer game with this now, not something I have really played. The little bit I did do it was fun, the games do not last long like a Destiny game, and you can easily find games to jump into. This is a brilliant ending to a great series, it's a shame that it ends. I will probably get Tomb Raider to carry a similar adventure (after No Man's Sky). Review: Review for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End (No major spoilers) - Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is the fourth and seemingly final game in the universally acclaimed Uncharted franchise. The main game itself takes place several years after Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception and sees a retired Nathan Drake be pulled back into the world of thieves when his brother Sam resurfaces after being thought to be dead. The two, along with returning characters Victor 'Sully' Sullivan and Elena Fisher (Now Nate's wife), travel across the globe in search of the lost treasure of Captain Henry Avery. The game itself is an absolute phenomenon to play. The story (for the fourth time running) is top notch, bringing a more major focus on the characters themselves. This along with what may possibly be the best graphics for a video game ever help to create a much bigger cinematic experience than its predecessors. There is so much attention to detail in this game and it is an absolute wonder to play. However, one major problem with the story is that they played it far too safe - there are no supernatural elements at all in this game, making it feel much more casual compared to the other games. This isn't a major gripe because the story is fantastic anyway. Gameplay is a major step-up in this game, with a much wider emphasis on both stealth, choice, and exploration. There are now multiple dialogue options but to be perfectly honest, it doesn't really affect the game at all and just felt pointless. The optional dialogue segments however help to build greater chemistry between characters as well as develop their bonds more. There are also multiple ways to confront a conflict - there are no sections fully dedicated to stealth or open combat, instead they use a blend of both to let the player use the method that suits them the most to get though conflict. There are also huge open environments in the game to allow greater exploration as well as a breather from all the shooting. The addition of a grappling hook is much welcomed, allowing for a more fun and badass way to get around, and the combat feels much more smoother and fluid than ever. There are a few problems in terms of gameplay, as the combat is still very basic and can still be a pain in the ass to do, but the fluidity allows this to be more of a rarity this time. Bugs are still a major problem though, luckily they also don't appear as often. Also, did I mention that the game is absolutely beautiful? This may be the first game to fully embrace next-gen capabilities in ALL aspects. All in all, Uncharted 4 is less of an innovator, and more of a refined version of all 3 Uncharted games, minus any of the supernatural things. But this hardly drags the game down as the game is arguably one of the best games around at the moment and helps solidify developers Naughty Dog as one of the, if not the greatest video game developers out there today. Superb Adventure - Drake Bows Out In Style!
This, the fourth and final instalment in "Naughty Dog's" famous "Drake's Fortune" series, has immense shoes to fill. Each of the previous three editions of the series have been ground-breaking games in their own right, scaling successively greater heights in terms of production values, graphics, audio and voice acting. So if naughty Dog needed to raise the bar with each release [and they certainly managed to], then the desire to go "even one better", to give this franchise a "last hurrah" must have been incredibly intense. So now we come to "A Thief's End", the last outing for Nathan "Nate" Drake, his old friend Sully and his lady, Elena. For fans of the series and for whom the cast are "old friends", there is much to love. For those who find their way to their first "Drake" outing, there is a wonderful, immersive game with much to commend it and much to send that first-time player back to seek out the three predecessors. This, then, is console gaming as it was meant to be. The entire game has been thoughtfully and lovingly enhanced. It doesn't matter if we're talking about the combat system, with more emphasis on stealth and strategy, or the puzzles, with more variety and scale; DF4 handles it with ease. But what stands to hold Drake's Fortune: A Thief's End up above the competition is the sheer quality. These are production values that would impress a Hollywood Producer and then some. Narration is top-notch, the audio is first rate and the graphics (on the PS/4, at least) are simply breathtaking. The cut scenes, for example, are animated to a quality comparable with Avatar: I could not think of higher praise to offer than that. Among all the incredible quality that this game brings to the gamer, perhaps the most significant is the cast. These are people that we've come to know and love over the last few years. They're imperfect, hot-headed, rough-around-the-edges and not always as nice as we'd like them to be. But they are easily among the most lifelike characterisations that you will find in any game, of any genre, on any platform. Playing DF4 is a bit like sharing an adrenaline-filled adventure with a small group of really close friends. No, not a bit like: that's exactly what this experience is. If you're an existing DF Player: what are you waiting for?! If you're new to Drake's Fortune, hunt around for the "boxed set" of the first 3 games and use them as an introduction to this one: they are excellent in their own right and you'll take much more from this story if you do. Pro's:- 1. Exceptional quality for a video game in all respects; gameplay, audio, graphics, acting, design, the works: this is 11/10 material... 2. Addictive, non-stop fun... 3. I could go on (and on), but, seriously, you should stop reading this review and just order yourself a copy, already... Con's:- 1. For the last of Drake's adventures, it did feel just a little short. But please take this with a pinch of salt - this game's run time is at least as long as any other similar game out there; I write this only because, as the last, this is something you're going to want to savour. 2. This is the last of Drake's adventures. OK, technically, that isn't a negative score against this superb game, but it's just a crying shame that there will be no more... Footnote and sum-up: it is possible that some may find the epilogue/ending of the game to be somewhat at odds with the rest of this instalment, or with the other games in the series, for that matter. But the thing is, with perspective, this is the perfect ending to a perfect series of adventures. Getting to see how things turn out right at the *very* end is the icing on the cake. Thank you, Naughty Dog, this one's an absolute classic.

A Fitting Swan Song.
I debated between 4 or 5 stars for this game, but I'll settle for 4. Ok so this year was the year of Uncharted for me, I finally finished the first one (which I quit a while ago due to not enjoying it that much) and I completely loved the 2nd and 3rd games in this series. I recently finished the 4th and I knew it would be good with the guys that worked on my favourite game of all time, The Last of Us, working on this one too as they did on the 2nd one. But Neil Druckmann co wrote the story for this one so I had faith it would be a much more in depth story and I wasn't disappointed. The other games, particularly 2 & 3 had great stories but they didn't delve too deeply into Nathan's past or his relationship with Elena whereas this one did and I loved that. The action isn't lacking either and it feels much more solid than in previous games, and of course there are tons of collectables which can be distracting (in a good way) if you're obsessed with searching everywhere as I am, which is why my play through took 25 hours most probably but I loved the searching. One of the biggest improvements in this game was the stealth, they actually worked to implement it properly in this game and I'm a lover of stealth when I can. And of course the graphics are astonishing, but it's Naughty Dog and they always take the extra effort to bring the best they can. Apparently this is the last Uncharted game, or at least the last with Nathan Drake and the gang and it felt like a swan song too with reminders of the previous games all the time, especially in the opening credits. It's not a game without it's flaws/annoyances though hence 4 stars. There are only so many times Nathan can "chat" to skeletons in his cheeky chappy way without it grating on you, and there were a number of cliché moments with Elena that were drawn out a little. There was also a big twist in the story about 3 1/4 way through which thoroughly disappointed me as I had been looking forward to seeing how things were going to pan out originally with this one character who I liked straight away but stuff happened that I wont spoil, it was still good story wise but not the epic I was hoping for. Also by the end of the game I was ready for the pirate story to be finished. I liked it but it seemed to just go on a long time. And there was no Chloe or Cutter! (Chloe is in a DLC to be released next year though). I didn't like Chloe at first but she grew on me and I missed her and definitely Cutter in this game. But despite these things that slightly annoyed me, there was always one person who cheered me always, my beloved Sully. He's literally the only character in this game series that I just love to bits, I love Nathan and I like Elena but Sully is just the greatest. And introducing Sam into the mix was a great way to go, I actually liked Sam, and it might have a lot to do with the fact he was played by my other beloved Troy Baker (Joel - The Last of Us, Pagan Min - Far Cry 4, Booker - Bio Shock Infinite and sooo many other characters). Like I said, Naughty Dog have said that this is the last of Nathan Drake and I'm ok with that. I feel like his story is done now and there isn't anywhere else to go with him or the others. At some point I will replay the games all over again and re live his epic adventures that have been fun and challenging and beautiful. And I'll be forever thankful that a developer like Naughty Dog exists.

Bravo Naughty Dog, bravo
Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is an action-adventure third-person shooter platform video game for the PlayStation 4 video game console. From the opening moment of Uncharted 4 to the very last scene, you’re on a journey that takes everything that Naughty Dog has learned through their last four games and rolled it into this final adventure for Nathan Drake. The game picks up a couple years after the events of Uncharted 3 where Nate and his lovely wife Elena are living a rather domestic life. One of the big changes from Uncharted 3 to Uncharted 4 is the pacing. Uncharted 4 is more of an adventure game than it is an action game. There are still several moments of action but you spend a lot less time doing it. This game is much more about traversing the world, pushing the story forward, and actually hunting treasure. More than any of the three games before it, you actually have a drive to find this treasure and it propels you forward. Traversing the world is still fantastic. Nathan has more upper body strength then the world’s finest Olympians. He is constantly pulling himself up ledges, and doing his best Spider-Man impression swinging from ropes to get from place to place. For me, Uncharted 4 is the perfect amalgamation of the last three entries into the series. You never get tired of any one activity because you never spend much time doing them. I will say though, if you weren’t a fan of the shooting or traversal in the games before, that has not changed much in Uncharted 4. The one caveat being there are far less bullet sponges in this game when playing on the Normal difficulty setting. Most enemies can be taken down with a couple of bullets, if not one head shot. There are a handful of armored enemies towards the end that do require a little extra effort. The game also adds in some driving segments that were some of the most fun I had in the game. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is in a class of its own. It’s an absolute treasure that combines action and story in a beautiful concert that I never wanted to end. It’s one of the rare games that years from now I know I will remember exactly where I was when the credits rolled and I said goodbye to Nathan Drake, one of the most prolific video game characters of all time. Bravo Naughty Dog, bravo.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End Review
First of all I must say if you care about story and characters in a game this is a must play. It helps if you have played the first 3 main Uncharted games but if not it's still a must have. I will now list some pros and cons for the game: Good: . The characters all feel unique and well written . The dialogue in this game is exceptional. It made me laugh at times and in more serious moments the dialogue was just right for the scene and the emotion it wanted to get out of you . The jumping and climbing has been refined and it is more responsive to what you want to happen whereas in previous entires in the series mistakes with climbing would cause you to die . New mechanics such as the rope swing and sliding are well implemented and fun additions . The graphics are breathtaking and the best I have ever seen on a console game . The story itself is excellent and the further you get into the game the more invested you will become . Gameplay is good and the action as you've come to expect from the series is terrific . The ending I was very happy with which is important as Naughty Dog have publicly said this is the last Uncharted game . The emotional moments in the game really hit you in the gut and work tremendously well . The attention to detail is kind of insane. Absolutely everything in this game was hand crafted with care . The acting performances all around were the best I have ever seen in a game and the facial capture technology really showed off it's capabilities by you being able to see every expression on the actors faces . This is a game that doesn't mind taking it's time which I really appreciated so you got to spend more time with the characters and appreciate everything the game has to offer more. It's overall a very well paced game . The music throughout was really good but there are certain memorable moments in the game where the music plays a key role Bad: . The game on a certain area in the first half I felt dragged on Conclusion: 5/5

Looks amazing, but not matched by the game play
What 3 stars!! yes I have broken away from the 5 star 10/10 crowd and here's why Ok lets get one thing out of the way straight away this game is absolutely beautiful the environment is stunning and is far and away the best looking game I have ever played (and I've been around since the Spectrum 48k days!) if you take the time to look at your surroundings you'll see the most amazing attention to detail whether your making your way through the rain forest of searching an old mansion, the world around you is depicted in the most amazing way and at times is alive, for example they is a section of the game that requires you to past through a market place a simple enough task but if you take the time to have a walk around the stalls you'll see all kinds of things going on. A fantastic looking game which I'd be more than happy to give 11/10 for graphics and scenery but I'm not, I'm rating this game on actual game play I can sum this game up like this 80% is climbing, 10% is combat, 5% vehicle control and 5% puzzle solving. Climbing up rock faces etc has always been a big part of this series as it is with most adventure games of course, but they really have taken it way to far in my own opinion. These segments of the game just go on and on until it gets to the point when you start thinking if it will ever end!! This is really unnecessary and the repetitive nature of scaling up buildings or cliff faces took a lot of the enjoyment out of the game. The character control is nothing more than standard for the modern video game, he runs, he jumps, he swings on ropes, he swims, he crouches behind things and of course yes you guessed it he climbs! all pretty mundane stuff really which we have all come to expect from games like this. The combat parts of the game are not up to the standard of the previous additions of the series and tend to be over just as quick as they started with very little offered in the form of a challenge (sadly no mystical creatures or yetis in this game!!) The puzzles are inventive, well thought out and enjoyable to do but these two lack the challenge of the game predecessors. On the plus side the story line is probably the best of the series and the in game cut scenes are like little movies that bring the game to live, the vehicle control parts of the game have to be my favourite these are quite simply amazing and were a great experience to play through. In general it's a decent game but I just feel that the stunning environment hides, what is underneath, a fairly standard game

Nathan Drake returns in his greatest adventure yet!
I had only been introduced to the world of Nathan Drake last year when Uncharted 1-3 were released as a pack. I loved those games, especially the second one and not just because of the game play. The characters are so compelling and I thoroughly enjoyed the different adventures they were facing. So naturally I was looking forward to No 4. I have to admit that it got off to a a rather slow start and I really didn't like the introduction of the new main character. Why were they never mentioned before? In one of the previous games we learned a bit about Nathan's backstory and surely it would have come up at some point, especially considering that they are also known to Sully? Anyway, that and the slightly slow beginning are really the only slightly negative things. The game play (when it gets started properly) is engaging as always and the story line is very compelling and superbly acted and narrated. The graphics are simply stunning - I love just walking around and looking at all the different features, especially the ones involving water. It simply looks and feels superb. This time around Nathan is after a long lost pirate treasure to help and rescue the newly introduced character. We get to meet Elena and Sully again and obviously a multitude of bad guys. I am 3/4 through the game and am very sad that it'll soon come to an end. I even started to like the new character, as there is an undeniable chemistry between them and Nathan, which is obviously all down to the great voice and MoCap acting. If you enjoyed Uncharted 1-3 then you simply must buy this one too. For everyone else new to Nathan's world: It is well worth your money!
