Guns N' Roses: W. Axl Rose (vocals, synthesizer, percussion); Slash (acoustic & electric guitars); Izzy Stradlin (guitar, background vocals, percussion); Duff "Rose" McKagan (bass, background vocals); Steven Adler (drums). Recorded at Rumbo Studios, Canoga Park, California; Take One Studio, Burbank, California; Can Am Studio, Tarzana, California. Review: Metal 🤘 at its finest - Classic album 👍 Review: Amazing for any Guns N’ Roses Fan - As a framer, I find immense joy in framing vinyl records, and one of my all-time favorite albums to work with is "Appetite for Destruction." Not only is it a pleasure to frame, but it's also a personal favorite to listen to. The holographic disc is a fantastic touch, adding a unique and eye-catching element to the display. It's fascinating to see the Guns N' Roses logo appear when the light hits it just right, creating an added layer of visual interest to the framed piece. Now, onto the sound quality. I made sure to keep the other disc I wasn't framing because, as a music enthusiast, I couldn't resist giving it a spin. Despite using an older record player with slightly blown-out speakers, I was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. The vinyl still managed to deliver a satisfying listening experience, comparable to the newer ones I purchase from the store. All in all, framing "Appetite for Destruction" has been a delightful experience, and it's a wonderful addition to my collection. Not only does it look stunning on the wall, but it also brings back cherished memories every time I listen to it. As a framing enthusiast and music lover, I couldn't have asked for a better combination.

Awesome Remaster, Well Done, Great Sound Quality
Not much can be done to improve an already-great album like Appetite for Destruction, but the remaster is awesome. Sound quality greatly improved/cleared up from the original 80's release CD. Contains nice color-photo booklets with song lyrics & other information, and the case is a slip-on with a very aesthetically pleasing re-done album cover. This version comes with a 2nd/bonus CD containing a bunch of live performances of various "Appetite" songs as well as most of the songs from the "Lies" album - kind of like a 2-for-1. Definitely worth buying this if you're a GNR fan. Love it.

Vinyl sound did not disappoint
Great first addition to my new vinyl collection! Having no other good ideas for my Christmas wish list, I had a moment of nostalgia and asked to get a decent turntable and a few albums from my family. I bought this album several weeks before Christmas, so I had to wait until after the holidays to give it a spin. Appetite was released when I was 15 - perfect timing for my teenage rebellious years. Hearing some of these songs again brought back tons of memories from my youth. I'm no audiophile, but the sound quality from the vinyl exceeded my expectations. Every song came through my speakers loud and proud without any noticeable distortion. This album's artwork features the familiar cover art on the front and a band photo on the back. The inner sleeve (made of glossy cardstock) has the song lyrics and credits on one side. The other side features the original cover art that was quickly banned back in 1987 - featuring artwork of a topless female street vendor being attacked by a mechanical beast. The record is labelled as side "G" and side "R" (rather than 1 and 2).

Good, but questionable to call it “audiophile” quality
I was going back and forth on giving this 3 or 4 stars. In the end I felt the album itself is just too good to give 3 stars. However there are somethings that I would like to point out. 1. The version I received was different than the ones that are shown in the pictures. It did not have the plastic slip cover with the banned original artwork as the outside art of the gatefold and group photo on the inside of the gatefold. Mine was just a regular gatefold with the banned original cover on the inside. I also didn’t get the high-res download code that it states on the wrapper, but that code expired on December 31, 2020 anyway so I guess it doesn’t matter anyway. 2. The audio quality is generally pretty good, but nothing outstanding to call it “audiophile”. There was some distortion on tracks. 3. I like that they split it out to 3 sides, but I think they could have made better use of the vinyl space and let the tracks breathe a little more. The runout tracks are pretty wide and I think they could have spread the music out a little further which would cut down on the distortion. 4. The hologram on the 4th side is pretty gimmicky and useless after spinning it once. A better use of the 2 LPs might have put 3 tracks per side and maybe even up the speed to 45 rpm. That would make a better use of the space and possibly justify that “audiophile” claim. 5. For some weird reason the first LP comes in a plastic lined paper sleeve that is nice so it doesn’t scratch the vinyl, but the second LP comes with just a paper sleeve. I’ll probably just replace both with a MoFi inner sleeve, but it’s just a weird decision to save 50 cents.

Get it!
Easily the best. They came out strong & raw - what's not to love?

Humble change of heart review from 2 to 5.
Remaster is fresh. My initial review was 2 star, but simply because of the exclusion of OIAM. And the scathing review over its censorship is one that I still hold to be an honest opinion as it is simply further exploration of the jungle Axl welcomes you to from track...and not to beat a dead horse, but it’s as if the censorship was by William Burroughs & Bill Cosby if you let Rocket Queen and Mr Brownstone slide under the bar 😀 But, sometimes unveiling the true grittiness of being a white boy having to score in the hood is a bit too much for 99% of the population 30 years later don’t have a clue of that lifestyle of feeding an $800 a day habit in the late 80s. Therefore, taken out of context, it is maybe some of the most hateful lyrics Axl ever spit, and are broad spectrum hate. But if you listen, he gives a specific example of each group he wrathed at....but that was world very few even survived , much less still understand 30years later. So, in conclusion, it’s exclusion rather than inclusion might be better for the greater good. Hate is kinda played out these days for this ol surviving late 80s junkie. Hopefully, my original review will be pulled, but please accept my apologies for my hostile 2 star review.

Guns'n'Rose : Appetite for Destruction

Classic album, gets the deluxe treatment!
Classic album. Already had the original CD and vinyl, but stepped it up a notch, with buying the 2 disc edition. Remastered and with several bonus tracks. Including the song "Shadow of Your Love". Which didn't make the album originally, due to a variety of reasons. Plus outtakes from the original sessions, and live and acoustic tracks. Some of which, were available on the "G n' R Lies" release. Packaging is great too. With newly added photos, from the era. There is also a 4 disc version, but a little on the expensive side. So, this 2 disc version, is just perfect.

We can hear Duff!!!
Appetite For Destruction - Deluxe Edition The difference in this remaster compared to the '87 release is outstanding. I'm hearing things I've never picked up on. Sounding like a recording made today. I forgot how much I enjoyed this album. The detail is precise and clear. Slash and Izzy are not as far forward. The bottom and middle are now balanced and natural sounding and the top is no longer loose. And, finally, Duff's brilliant bass can be heard clearly with body. Appetite no longer sounds like a typical CD pressed in the '80s. Disc two offers some interesting tracks. I heard Shadow Of Your Love on a demo 7" way back in '87. It's good to hear it again but cleaned up and remastered. Brought the memories flooding back. The packaging is glorious too. It as an almost metallic sheen to the outer sleeve. The booklet is well produced and the inner gatefold with the Appetite For Destruction painting on the outside. For any fan of this solid debut by a brilliant band, it's well worth a purchase. Fingers crossed for the same treatment to the Illusion albums...

Eccellente packaging, suono ok.
