POWERTEC Slab Flattening Router Bit, 1/4" Shank, 2" Dia. (73056)

I used this to mill some HDPE for a specific project with a router sled I made. It did what I needed. I used it with trim router that bogged a bit at deep cut depths but that was probably the router. Decent price and good delivery and did what I needed.

Product performed as described

Have been pleasantly surprised at the quality and durability. I’ve flattened several slabs with no issue to date.

Nice wide bit for flattering slabs. Planers are expensive. This does the trick for a fraction of the cost.

Leveled a black walnut/maple tabletop with this. No issues.

This is an intimidating large bit, but seems well made, hopefully will last a while - reason for 1 star taken away is that the cutting blades might be a little thin/prone to chipping due to how far they project beyond the face of the bit which will destroy a flattening surface quickly. Time will tell, will update if things go better or worse than expected.

I got it to level a slab of very seasoned oak for a table and I had already wiped a 1/2" shank bit out just doing maybe half of the bottom side. This bit finished the bottom and all of the top side and was still cutting pretty good.

This bit stayed sharp much longer than I expected, and it’s still going. I’ve flattened 5+ boards with it so far. Had to purchase a second one after having a router malfunction with the original. The second bit I purchased was significantly duller, and tore up the first project I used it on with my flattening jig. 5 stars -> 3 stars

This is a high quality bit, I have the 1/4" shaft sticking out of my high power router about 1 inch and it still spins silent, no wobbling though It defenitely hit a few harder spots, something in the wood ruined one of the four bits but it still works good.

I love Powertec, but unfortunately this blade does not cut well at all. I went out and got a different cutter head and got the results that I was looking for plus it moved through the wood a lot better than this one.
