**Q: where are they made?**
A: Denmark, by the same company that invented them there.

**Q: does a small hair pin come with the cylinder?**
A: No.  A small piece of wire works fine.

**Q: Is this really 80 kg? Or is it a miss print and is 8.0 kg?**
A: Hello and many thanks for your question, technically as specified by the manufacturer they can exert 80kg as a maximium but they are rated to lift windows of  up to 14kg consistently, lifting higher than this will cause premature failure

**Q: How may seasons should these last?**
A: If they are removed from the unit in winter, when all windows and vents remain closed in cold climates, stored in a cool dry place, they should last 10 years.  If they are working every day of the year in milder climates, they should last 5-7 years.  Use a little white grease to help lubricate and prolong life.

About 30 mm left open, evenings are now cooler than 17C.Not sure weather to put it in the fridge and test. Bought for family and so not on site.It is definitely screwed in as far as possible, an extra 20mm of thread would have excellent.
