Fish tank novice - do i just position this plug in and thats itvor do i need to but something belce to fo with it

Hi Claire, I now have two of these positioned in my aquarium & love the effects that they give. They can be placed anywhere to brighten up your tank, & with their changing colours, they certainly do that coupled with the extra oxygen they generate. But naturally, you will need a small air pump to achieve this effect, but they are reasonably inexpensive to buy at somewhere between £12 - £20 & are very easy to set up too. Will this air stone work without an air pump

Hi, no you'll need air pump but my advice is DON'T buy this product it doesn't work for very long

How powerful does the pump have to be in order to get the bubbles ?

If I keep this product in my cold water fish tank will I still need to keep my filter on?

This product is only a air stone which only oxygenates the tank, it does not filter the water if your tank has to have a filter on then keep it on whilst you use this product. I have two air stones and a filter in my tank as mine is tropical fish
