Best made shovel
Wow! This is a great tool for the yard. Well made and constructed, and goes into the ground like slicing into butter. The handle is sturdy, strong and well made. I'm retiring my olde shovels with the cheap plastic handles. If you like gardening as I do. This is a must have shovel from vegetable and flowering gardens. Thank you, Alyssa & Curt

I love quality tools. This shovel is one of them.
I'm 64 years old and definitely have not spent a whole lot of time working with shovels, never professionally, just light gardening. The shovel has been a delight to use, after just a few days of trying it out, breaking ground on a new small plot and removing a bunch of large lily bulbs neglected for at least a decade. It's sturdy, comfortable and has a decent weight & balance to it. I'm a short man at 67" and shrinking, and the length suits me well. The sharpened edge and oversized foot step make digging as effortless as I've ever known. I was going to mark one and two-foot lines on it to easily determine how deeply I'd dug. But, after I put a measure to the unit I noticed the footstep was 12" above the tip of the shovel, and there's a clear horizontal line on the decal which is 24" above the tip. The decal may not last forever, but it seems substantial. So I won't take it off and will delay marking the 2-foot line as long as it lasts. The D-handle seems a bit large to me, but not a problem, it should accommodate folks with bearish hands just fine. I have a single criticism, but it has to do with shipping, not the shovel itself. It arrived in a comically large box, with minimal packing. Ok, so the shovel is sturdy and really didn't need much protection. But, my gawd, you could've easily fit FIVE of these shovels in that ridiculously large box! I have no doubt this shovel will outlast me, and probably would if I'd bought it at half my age. Good stuff!

I dig holes now just for fun because it's THAT GOOD!
Ok, maybe I'm not digging holes just for fun but every time I look at this shovel (and the long handle one I bought too) I feel the need to dig. This is a machine of a shovel. The wide handle and steel construction makes popping out trees, bushes, etc a breeze. I LOVE IT! The extra wide "footing" on the top of the shovel gives your feet PLENTY of room to jump on without fear of slipping off or hurting your feet. I've dug holes for new plants, trees and bushes with just plane old sneakers on and it's never hurt my feet when in use OR the next day after. It blasts through 1"+ roots with ease. Well... The ease of my 6'5" 235 pound body jumping on it with BOTH feet. I also use it for work when we dig up broken swimming pool pipes through 16"x16" holes. The holes are through concrete and we would tear up wooded handled shovels pretty quick when doing these repairs. This shovel has just got a few scratches but that's about it. I did notice the orange wide handle has faded a bit since I left it out in the sun for a week or two, but it doesn't seem to have effected its strength. Some others have mentioned this too I noticed before I purchased. In a strange way it's good because now it makes me put all my shovels away in my shed, or shop, to keep them safe and ready for the next hole or tree. I'd buy again in a heartbeat.

AMAZING!!! Fiskars doesnt disappoint. Unbiased/Non-Affiliated. Just an Ambassador for Honest Reviews
AMAZING product!!! It makes more sense to me to have a shovel that's ONE PIECE - where the spade and pole are concerned. I've had too many regular wooden handled shovels SNAP from the metal spade, and it's annoying. Never mattered the cost, apply enough force and I could get any shovel to break -.- and I'm a tiny woman. So I started looking for a shovel that was just one welded piece, given the heavy duty plastic handle at the end. But the point of contact where pole and spade meet, is durable as F***. I couldnt find this style originally in the big brand stores, and the local hardware stores were currently just Out Of Stock. But they did carry the type of shovel I needed, and it just happened to be FISKARS! So, I just checked Amazon and saw they sold Fiskars and we bought 3! Without ever knowing it, I actually had quite a few tools by FISKARS; like I just recently noticed my sewing scissors are all fiskars LOL! and those are the best cutting scissors ever! Lol and noticed all my cutting shears (hand-me-downs from my grandparents) were all Fiskars too! And they're so well maintained, they've lasted me a longer time. So now knowing all that, FISKARS is now one of my TRUSTED go-to brands, and that's what made me also trust getting this TYPE of shovel from Fiskars. This item already had the functionality I wanted; it was just a bonus it from Fiskars. Plus, I loved the colors! Another bonus for me: looked super attractive! <3

Mongo shovel.
This is a crazy big, strong and heavy shovel. Too heavy to be used for what I wanted. I really was looking for something that I could pack along with other stuff on treasure hunts and gold prospecting trips. I subsequently ordered a 40" Ground Shark shovel that works much better for me (but is also very heavy). This would be a great all around shovel for any contractor to have. Might actually dig through hard pan. Love the D handle design.

Worth the wait
I ordered this shovel last month. It took about three weeks to arrive, however; Amazon kept me updated on its arrival. Itโs a very well made shovel. I appreciate the handle , which makes it easier to maneuver; as well as the metal plates attached to the upper shovel blade that allow your feet to help dig it deeper. I compared this shovel with price and quality at Walmart, and this shovel is best in service and price! I am glad I chose wisely.

Feels indestructible, comfortable to use
Go to on the job site. I got tired of breaking company issued fiberglass shovels prying up rocks, buried masonry shards, water meter boxes. This doesnโt flex at all, the handle is part of the blade so it doesnโt snap off, and the foot rests are bonded to the handle for durability. The D handle helps take impact off the wrist or palm while chipping and gives more leverage when lifting rocks, or breaking suction in mud. Doesnโt cost much more than a fiberglass, but will pay for itself in a month. It is all steel so it will feel heavy at first.

Seriously sturdy
Purchased to replace a fiberglass shaft shovel which snapped in half while digging up small trees. This steel Fiskars shovel is much sturdier, and is holding up very well to heavy use. The large handle and curved shaft design provide great leverage, and the shovel head is capable of chopping straight through small roots. Definitely the most solid heavy duty shovel available in its price range.
