This is expensive but worth it. I have 2. Also I had to warranty my first one after about 3 years I think. No push back the company was great to work with and held up their end of the bargain. That is why I own 2 of these. Really easy to use, stays clean and is easy to clean when you need to. The keep hot timer is really a great feature. Also this gives you reliable 207 degree water when you want it! It also has multiple heating settings for tea, etc... And the handle is safe and easy to hold. No risk of your hand hitting the hot spots. The Lid has an excellent filter and gasket system that keeps the boiling water under control when you pour it out at high temps.

This kettle will probably outlive me. The stainless steel is utilitarian, aesthetic, and free of defect. The plastic parts are solid and dependable. The kettle is shipped with a choice of a red plastic knob as shown, a black plastic knob, or a stainless steel knob. The knob does not turn like a dial but moves slightly to the left or right in a tight arc, more like a switch. The program selector is entirely independent of the knob allowing the user to swap between all types of tea quickly. This likely reduces wear greatly, ensuring the knob will be functional for at least five years. The spout is machined very well which facilitates even flow. The measuring marks are embossed upon the stainless steel, ensuring they will never fade. The water used will go from 68 Fahrenheit to 212 Fahrenheit in a scant ten minutes, allowing for far greater efficiency in recipes which require water warmer than the water heater can provide. At 1500W this kettle harnesses a considerable amount of power. The cord can be stored neatly under the base when not in use. Even if inadvertently turned on the kettle is equipped with boil dry protection. German steel is legendary for its quality, which consequently raises the price. However, I personally believe the high quality steel and flawless machining are worth the high cost. There are many cheap kettles that can be had for very little but inevitably fail to impress. It is also highly unlikely those cheap kettles are warranted in any way for five years. Taste depends almost entirely on the water that you are using, but stainless steel does not impart a noticeable flavor as plastic does. Use water as pure as is possible for best results. To prevent the buildup of scale the product manual indicates rinsing after each use. Anything other than water is inadvisable and will void the product warranty. Summarily, this kettle is the platonic ideal of a kettle. Simple, robust, and more than the sum of its parts.

I love everything about this kettle, wish I could give it 10 stars! For years we’ve used a microwave to heat up water for tea, broth, hot chocolate, etc. Since my diabetes diagnosis I don’t drink hot chocolate any more and drink a wide variety of teas including several herbal teas that supposedly may help with diabetes issues. In reading up on these new-to-me teas I found that many of them should be brewed with lower temperature water. That lead to a very frustrating search for a kettle that had what I considered to be very reasonable requirements: removable lid, all stainless/no glass, enough presets that covered all the various types of teas I drink, a temperature even lower than required for my teas, easy to clean interior with no obstructions or interior coils, and a large enough capacity that we can each have one or two mugs without having to refill. It took forever to finally find this wonderful kettle on Amazon but finally I found a kettle that fulfilled every requirement I had. It took me almost another week of searching Amazon & other online stores trying to find a similar but slightly cheaper kettle but no luck. Slightly cheaper kettles were all missing two or three of my requirements which I knew would ultimately bother me too much. Within two or three uses I knew this was the perfect kettle and well worth every penny. IT IS SO TRUE THAT THE CORRECT BREWING TEMPERATURE BRINGS OUT THE BEST TASTE OF YOUR TEAS.

High quality and easy to use. Set the temp at whatever you want, it also has a keep warm function so you never wait. A bit expensive for a kettle, but it looks good next to other Wolf appliances. Works well for pour over coffee and tea. Also it takes about 5 minutes to get a full pot to 212 degrees (boiling point) which make cooking pasta or anything else that needs hot water much faster.

Our household is filled with avid loose leaf tea drinkers, so we decided to shell out a good chunk of money for a higher-end, bells and whistles kettle to replace our older electric brand. After hours of research, we landed on the trusted name of the Wolf brand. Two months into usage, the kettle started having problems. Once to twice a week, we’d receive an error message that we needed to fill the kettle with more water even though it was more than half full. I was going to call Wolf, but my dad died suddenly and I had to take care of his estate, so the kettle became the least of my problems. During this time, the kettle began having more problems…error messages in the middle of a cycle, beeping for no reason, not turning on, etc. One day, as I watched the kettle blinking an incorrect error message at me, I witnessed the plastic cover on the digital temperature gauge crack right before my eyes. I couldn’t believe it! This was at the six month mark of ownership. I contacted Wolf directly and thankfully (after a few glitches on their end), they pulled their act together and sent me a new kettle (after receiving the defective one I returned). For that, I was grateful. We received our second one. Within two months, we started getting error messages again AND the water continued to boil long after reaching the desired temperature rather than the unit automatically turning off. Here we are…less then six months after receiving our unit…we arrive home after a month’s vacation…I plug in the unit, turn it on and FOR THE SECOND TIME…the cover over the temperature gauge cracks right before my eyes. I couldn’t believe it. A week later, water starts leaking from the lid and I almost burned myself. I’ve owned several electric tea kettles over the last thirty years…some expensive, some not. I have never had problems with my tea kettles other than they simply wore out. With the name of Wolf and the cost, it was shocking and unacceptable to have TWO kettles break within a year. We had been looking at purchasing a Wolf stove, but after this experience, I will never buy another Wolf product again.
