Really helpful for a small dog
My best friend's dog has cancer, and is having more and more trouble getting up and down stairs, to say nothing of trying to get into and out of the car. She has a small car, so a ramp was not helpful. Her dog only weighs 20lbs, so he's not heavy to carry, but he does whimper from pain when trying to pick him up. This sling really has made a world of difference. He doesn't cry out when he's picked up; she can easily transport him anywhere she needs to, and it's easy to store when not in use. The sling is sturdy and well-made. Stitching is consistent and the handles are handy and strong. The shoulder strap really makes this thing helpful. Highly recommended!

Mixed Feelings
I loved the idea of being able to use a shoulder strap or team lift with the harness. My 100lb dog tore his CCL this weekend and we needed something quick to help him get outside to use the bathroom. It works pretty nicely in this area. However, there are some features that make it difficult to put on and use. The leg straps are awkward and hard to fit correctly. There is also a hole built in for male dogs to use the bathroom, but it is so small if it is not positioned just right the harness gets peed on. Which, if you have a dog that has an injury or illness requiring a harness, they don’t have total control of staying stable. I’ve already had to wash it twice in the 24 hours I’ve had it. Maybe if I bought a size down it would work better, but I was concerned his weight would be too much for the smaller size going by the size chart. Overall it seems like nice quality and has provided some relief to our backs of trying to lift our dog, but the sizing and design are a few drawbacks. If we didn’t urgently need it, I would consider returning it. I also ordered a different type that will hopefully work better.

This has been a life saver for our Great Dane and us!
Our 10yr old Great Dane all of the sudden could barely get up on his own, walk, or stand to relieve himself. This happened over the weekend and while waiting to get him in we ordered one of these. It allowed us to help him get up without hurting him by trying to awkwardly pick him up and it also helped us stabilize him while he was standing to eat/drink and go to the bathroom. Now he is going into the vet several times a week for therapy and it has been an invaluable tool for safely getting him in and out of the car and it works great for the clinic staff to walk him into the clinic and do his therapy. It’s also still a great tool for those days where he is a little weaker, stiff, or in pain and still benefits from our help. It’s a loose fit but that works great for him because it is loose but still secure and he wears it pretty much all the time. I’m sure that without this sling me and my husbands back would be so much worse from all the awkward lifting of our big guy (140 pounds). It also allows me to do a lot of the physical help he needs on my own when my husband is unavailable despite weighing less than him and being pretty short. This has been such a game changer during such a rough, stressful and challenging time. To us it’s a life saver, back saver, and much much more. Thank you so much for making this product!

Not for us
My dog tore his CCL and is 83 pounds, we have 20 stairs to get in and out of our house. I can see this working for someone else but for someone who is able to safely carry their dog up and down the steps it's not necessary. I thought this would be an easy and safe solution but it takes too long to get it on , you can tell they tried to make it as easy as possible to get it on and off. when it's on the proportions seem weird and it's hard to carry him in it since he's off to the side with the shoulder straps. It does seem secure and well made. He's a big boy and I wasn't concerned about it breaking.

When you have a big dog that cannot walk this sling works really well
I have a 110 lb great Pyrenees/Shepard mix. He's got a torn hind CCL and will be having the TPOL surgery soon. When he tore his CCL he also injured his other leg making himself unable to walk for a few days, I ended up purchasing this Sling and a Mobility Harness (I was going to need it after the surgery anyway) and I really believe you need to consider both if you have a big dog. I can pick up my dog without the sling, it's awkward, and nowhere near easy. Carrying him to the yard for potty breaks or back to his lounging area (my office) was difficult to do with out this sling. I tried to drag him on a blanket, use a towel to assist his walking, but his injury really just made that painful. So I got the sling. I acclimated him to it by putting it in his sleeping area I'd rest it over/under him, then I'd wrap him in it for a bit. He basically got used to it. Then after about 3 days I picked him up in it. It's pretty easy to slide under a big dog even if they cannot move on their own. The connectors can be operated with one hand (huge plus) My biggest problem was my dog thought it was play time and squirmed to play. This sling distributes the weight across the entire underside of the dog. This is awesome. The mobility harness I have also has a sling like feature, BUT the weight distribution is on the hip and shoulder joints via straps. So I see these as two different tools for two different jobs. Sling = Need to carry and move a dog that cant walk: Mobility Harness = Need to assist and guide dog that can partially walk This sling also has 2 straps AND side handles. Why this is important: 1) The 2 carry straps can be used together on one persons shoulders OR 2 people can share the load with each taking a strap 2) The side handles allow you to distribute weight with you arms in addition to your shoulder. When your dog is 110 lbs you will appreciate this feature. My wife cannot pick up our dog with this strap alone, BUT she and my son together can lift and carry our dog. I have carried my dog about 40 yards in this and he did great with it. It 100% beats picking him up without anything. I don't think for a large dog this sling makes a good mobility harness which is why I say consider both. For a dog to walk using this as an aided assistance tool, the weight distribution is at the center as opposed to the injured area (Elbow/Knee) of the Dog. You support the whole dog with this as opposed to allowing them to put weight on the uninjured area. I think that's important so you can assess the degree of mobility while they are healing. Also the dog using the restroom in it has your dog in an unnatural position because you're supporting via their midpoint preventing them from squatting. With a mobility harness you can support 2 points of weight distribution (Shoulder and hip) So squatting is supported. Hope this helps a little. All the best to you and your dog(s)

Worked well after figuring it out.
Good quality but a little complicated to put on because it was hard to know front from back and where all the straps went. It did work well for our extra large dog once we could figure it out.

Excellent product. We have old dog who cannot jump into and out of the the car, and since she weighs 20 kg it is hard for us to carry her. With this product two of us can carry her comfortably, without injuring our back. The dog feels comfortable in carrier, she imediatly understood that it helps her. Dog carrier is robustly made, has short and long handles so it can be used in various situations. We use it while grinding the dog's nails too. Absolutely reccomended.
