A Full Pot in About 3 Minutes… and FINALLY Coffee That’s Actually HOT
This coffee maker is FAST. It makes a full pot in about 3 minutes, which is one of the main reasons I love it. The coffee also comes out HOT, not barely warm where you’re microwaving it 10 minutes later. If you actually like hot coffee, this thing delivers the perfect temperature. One thing to know if you’re coming from a regular drip coffee maker: this one starts brewing immediately after you pour in the water and close the lid. It does not stop flowing if you pull the pot out like some coffee makers do, so make sure your pot is already in place before closing the water lid. Honestly though, it brews so fast it’s not a big deal once you get used to it. Simple, fast, and makes consistently good coffee. I’d buy it again.

**UPDATE: Smell DOES disappate, worth the wait.**
Updated review, now 5 stars and would give more if I could: The metallic/burning plastic smell from the liner of the water tank did indeed disappate completeley after about 3.5 weeks (longer than Bunn's claimed 1-2 weeks) and we are so glad we stuck with it. Seriously if the thing broke today, I'd pay for same day delivery, instant replacement. Coffee is *perfect* every single time without exception. Flavored, unflavored, regular, decaf...it matters not. Consistent, hot, delicious and done in 2 minutes flat. The other issue with the grounds spewing everywhere was fixed by a promt, free package from Bunn supplying different water flow restrictor sprayheads to pop in. Issue has never recurred. Problem solved. We've had it for 2 years now and haven't really ever done a deep clean on it. We only put filtered water in so build-up is minimal. At first we thought it might be scary having an appliance that is "on" and warm all the time, but it isn't. You shut the whole thing down if you're going to be gone for more than 48 hours. The fun part is trying to remember to turn it back on when you return from vacation...it does take several hours to fully warm back up so you're in for a sad surprise in the morning if you forget. We can't live without it. _____________________ Previous review: Bottom line: I'd give it five stars for the quality and consistency of the coffee it brews but the smell people are complaining about? Yeah, that's real and it is a real problem. But I can only give it three because we are among the unfortunate buyers experiencing the powerful metallic (some call it burning plastic which I understand) smell that has radiated from the stainless steel water tank since the day we set it up three and a half weeks ago. The smell was nauseating at first and headache-inducing. Bunn assures that it goes away after a week or two. It has not. It has dissipated over time, though not to our satisfaction. You can read other reviews about the nature of the smell (an epoxy lining of the water tank that needs to seal before the smell goes away) which is why running vinegar through it does not help...I don't think it is *in* the water tank itself or touching the water, but rather within the lining of the tank. We also experienced the issue with the water and grounds overflowing the first pot we made as so many 1 and 2-star reviewers have noted. It was literally a hot mess that took too long to clean up and was a very disheartening first go with an expensive coffee maker. We ordered the free alternative spray head from Bunn which arrived promptly and solved that problem. (Note: that issue is caused by too-fine coffee grounds/decaf which I assume is because decaf is generally more finely ground than regular coffee. My husband can't have caffeine so we primarily brew decaf). I can't believe we have stuck with it this long, honestly. For the money we spent we would expect perfection from any other product and an industry leader like Bunn should be ashamed of themselves for a sub-par product. Sadly we've now been seduced by the quality and the *consistency* of the coffee it brews each & every time after years of Mr. Coffee makers which make a great pot one day, an awful one the next. We've decided to stick with it and see if the smell truly does go away over time because not enough people have hung in there longer than two weeks to testify to its disappearance. So we're doing it for you--ha ha. We'll keep you posted on the dissipation (or not) of the smell.

Hot Hot Hot!
This is the best and only coffee pot you will ever own once you purchase your first one. Yes I am talking about the BUNN coffee pot the greatest coffee pot ever made in my opinion. I purchased my first bun coffee pot probably 20 plus years ago and I have never used any other coffee pot sense. Put in the coffee ground amount that you like and pour in the water in the reservoir and bam! coffee in no time. Trust me on this one.

Awesome coffee maker, Wish I had know about these years ago!
This coffee maker is absolutely fantastic! brews very fast and gives you instant hot water. I got mine on Amazon "used"for half price.... it was returned most likely by someone who just does not understand how this unit works and was too lazy to take a couple minutes to figure it out.they do work a little different than a regular coffee maker. you leave the heating element on all the time, it keeps the water hot just like a hot water heater does, and no it does not effect your electric bill, I have seen people giving negative reviews on it for needing to be on all the time and just assuming this will "run up your electric bill": not true at all, you are keeping a small amount of water warm all the time so it takes less time to get it HOT when it is time to brew coffee. this is no different than how a Kureg works as far as that is concerned and everyone seems to be ok with those wasteful pieces of garbage.., those also keep water hot all the time inside...since it is well insulated it doesn't run much to keep it this way. anyway , just addressing that because it seem to be the biggest thing people do not understand /can not wrap their tiny little brains around. I like this coffee maker for its appearance, how fast it brews coffee (like 3 or 4 minutes max) for how good the coffee is since it is brewed with the proper hot temps required for a good brew and for the fact I can get hot water instantly , I also like how nicely the carafe pours, no spills. if you are too lazy to watch a 2 minute video or read up on how these work then you shouldn't bother buying it because you will probably be one of the I*Diots to return it when nothing is wrong at all you just don't know how to use it. It was a score for me though I feel bad for BUNN to have to deal with returns from I*diots who cant be bothered to read or watch a 2 minute video so as to understand the very simple but different way this coffee maker works vs all others. very simply put 1)it stays on all the time 2)when you pour water in the top whatever amount you pour in will be the same amount to come out into the pot (but already hot) 3)leave the lid up until you have the carafe back in place so you dont start brewing onto the hot plate because it will begin pouring coffee instantly as soon as you put the lid down. as far as people claiming that coffee grounds get all over ...I dont know what that is all about because I have not had that issue. use the filters designed for the BUNN coffee maker and you will not have a problem. I have heard that there is an optional dispenser head you can get if you brew really fine coffee and BUNN supplies it free of charge if you just ask for it. but yeah this has not been a problem for me.

Bunn great coffee pots.
have used Bunn speed brew coffee pots for years. one using warming light/switch stopped working after several years - purchased this one to have back up for my other Bunn coffee maker. Cannot attest to this model purchased as still in box to have at ready when one using , also Bunn speed brew different model, stops working or should be replaced. They last for several years if clean & care for it as mfr suggests. I swear by Bunn coffee makers and enjoy how quickly my morning coffee is ready

The best coffee makers
My dad and sister both have these coffee makers. I’ve used them for years, but finally bought one for myself. We love how easy to use it is and the hot water chamber is the best feature. It makes a quick pot of coffee. We like being able to control the strength. It looks nice and cleans fairly easily. It’s not too large and fits under most cabinets.

Looks terrible, but the coffee is perfect!!
I once had a Bunn coffee maker 20 years ago and never forgot the taste. I've tried several since then, but nothing matches the good taste of a regular coffee made by Bunn. The secret, I knew all along, is the water temperature. The design though is not very attractive. They could have done better.
