As most others have said, the paper quality is excellent and is good with many pen and paint types. I've added a fourth book to mine (on an elastic hung round the back of one of the books), Which I use for scribbled brainstorming lists. Cut down from a standard A5 book (they are the right height, just too wide) it was a Sea Salt notebook given to me as gift last Christmas; although a pretty cover, the paper in that is nowhere near as good. However, there are other A5 books out there that are a lot easier to find than this narrow size so that's where I'll look when I need some good quality refills. Yes, the cover does mark but this doesn't bother me. I have recently treated it with a leather restorer and that soaked in and covered all the marks so this might be an option for those who don't like the scuffs. I've had it for 6 months so just feeding the leather twice a year doesn't seems too onerous a tasks. The leather is tough and fully protects the contents but is flexible at the same time. The original pen was lovely but I wasn't able to find refills that fitted it so instead I now use a waterproof fine liner pen, and this is a good substitute. The plastic pockets are just the right size for small Post-Its, a folding ruler, some postage stamps and some pretty paperclips. Although I have included them in the notebook, I haven't used the carboard pockets yet and if I want to make a criticism it is the the little bit of double sided tape closing the bottom of these packets doesn't stay tightly stuck. Truly, that is the only thing I can find wrong with the whole notebook. I am so glad I didn't spend out on one of the expensive 'named' versions.

I'm not sure how/why this is so much less expensive than the vast majority of leather traveller's journals I've seen, because the quality really doesn't suffer from that lower price point at all. The leather feels lovely, it's all very well cut, it's satisfyingly soft so it doesn't have that stiff new leather look I hate but it still feels nice and sturdy. The notebook inserts are really nice too, the paper is smooth and a nice off-white colour. The additional accessories provided are very high quality and mean I've managed to fully set up the journal with everything I need to take it out and about without hassle. I do have a couple of very minor pieces of feedback, but they're definitely not big enough issues for me to knock my rating down from 5 stars. The pen loop attachment is great and the included pen is pretty nice to write with, but the pen loop is slightly too small for it so it's a bit of a struggle getting it in and out. Also I think it would be great if a pencil board was included in this set to provide a more stable writing surface.

My Travellers Notebook arrived today, and as it was a lot cheaper than some others I’d seen I didn’t quite know what to expect. I needn’t have worried. The notebook itself is lovely quality, with four elastics in the spine, and a nice piece of leather on the closing elastic to protect the edges of the notebook. It came with three book inserts, one plain, one lined and one grid. It also came with a plastic wallet insert with card slots and a zipper pocket, and a cardboard insert with pockets. There was also a pen clip which is nice and strong and a clip to hold papers etc. There was also spare elastic and lastly a pen. I thought the pen might be a cheap biro…but it’s either a nice gel pen or a biro with a very nice writing ball. The elastic closure is fastened to the spine, not the rear of the notebook so there’ll be no worries about writing on pages near the back of the notebook. I am absolutely thrilled with it, well worth the money and actually, with this good quality, it would have been silly to spend more on another make. I’d recommend this 100%.

Update 19/Jul/2024 I purchased further 2 leather organisers, standard size, from this supplier for present. I have received amazing organisers, with great quality, with no issues whatsoever. The both organisers arrived in perfect condition, very well packaged and delivered in time. It became clear for me that the supplier had improved their product quality from the last year, and consequently, I changed my review score from 2 up to 4 stars. Thank you. ——————————————————————- Update 03/Jun/2023 I bought another organiser by the same seller for myself, which left me very disappointed. As you can see from the pictures, the second organiser is very different colour from my previous purchase. Also, the leather appears uneven in colour (more darker in front) and stays on patches. Clearly, this is not the appearance advertised by the seller. Furthermore, appears that each lot of products is different, which questions the quality. I already contacted the seller about this issue and their response was “Hello, sorry but my suggestion is to wait about 2 months (for the current stock to run out) and purchase a new one.” No, I will definitely not! The item is going back and I will avoid this seller in the future. Consequently, I will change my overall experience from 4 to 2 stars. ———————- Nicely packed product, in cotton bag. Good size, which can accommodate a lot, including your passport, travel tickets or boarding pass. However, I am not sure is that a genuine leather - doesn’t smell like my other leather products. This product is painted and the paint easily coming off when you use cosmetic for leather care - see the video attached. So, keep this journal away from your white shirt. I have mixed emotions with this purchase, but start to like it. I am not going to use the metal pen clip, because is too harsh and can damage the leather overtime. However, the journal can be useful when traveling, plus the price of £23 (reduced with 20%) is fair for what you get. Finally, the scratches can be easily removed with leather care balm, as advertised by the seller, but will see what will be the colour underneath the paint.

Impressive quality, especially considering the price! You really do get a lot for your money with this journal. I haven't tried Midoris (now "The Traveler Company") journal, so I can't really compare the two, but this is a really nice journal. The included inserts are all fountain pen friendly, though I find them a little too scratchy for my liking, so I ended up getting Midoris dotted inserts. The included card-folder and clip is great! Can't wait to see how it ages over time. Stoked.

Le carnet est GENIAL , exactement comme les photos et les commentaires, j'en suis super contente. Les inserts sont de qualité. Solides, le papier est assez épais mais pas trop et bien lisse, le crayonné est super dessus. Mais SVP donnez la référence des inserts pour racheter les même !! Ils sont introuvable actuellement... sinon sous d'autres marques mais moins qualitatives. En tout cas, je suis franchement très contente de mon achat le rapport qualité prix est excellent et ce carnet va me suivre partout.
