This Ninja SLUSHi machine has quickly become one of our favorite kitchen gadgets—and it’s earned a permanent spot on our kitchen counter. The functionality is excellent: it’s simple to use, chills fast, and consistently produces a perfectly smooth slush texture. Everything we’ve made tastes great, whether it’s a store-bought drink or something we mix ourselves. The build quality feels solid, which gives me a lot of confidence in its durability. I was a little worried about leakage, but after many uses, it hasn’t leaked at all. One tip that’s worth highlighting: make sure the machine sits upright for a couple of hours before the first use (or any time it’s been on its side). We skipped this step at first, and it took over two hours to freeze a full tank. After letting it sit upright as recommended, it now chills a full batch in about 30 minutes. The noise level is noticeable but not distracting—just the normal sound of a machine working quickly. Cleaning is extremely easy. We spray all the parts down with hot water after each use, let everything dry, and then reassemble it without any hassle. If you enjoy margaritas, the premixed Kirkland margarita mix works perfectly in this machine. A ratio of 3 or 4 parts mix to 1 part water helps it freeze smoothly without getting too thick. And if you’re choosing a size, the 88 oz version is absolutely worth it—the extra capacity makes a big difference for groups. All around, this is a fun, reliable machine that performs exactly as promised. Highly recommend.

I LOVE SLUSHIES! So, when my husband told me about the Ninja SLUSHi, I was immediately like - TAKE MY MONEY! I literally refused to go to bed without drinking a slushie from my very own SLUSHi machine and I did have one around midnight the first night it arrived! The next day, I had a slushie for breakfast, only to have the machine start beeping on me and shutting down completely even though there was still slushie in the machine. Fast forward and two video calls to Ninja customer service and I was given two different answers. The first customer service rep was very friendly and thanked me for leaving the machine just as it was when it stopped working, with the soda slushie still in it. She had me start it up again and wait for it to slush. We discussed the fact that it's supposed to keep drinks cold for (up to) 12 hours. I asked if I had to completely drink the whole 16 oz fill at once (it never says you do in the manual) and she said she didn't think so. I'd say there was probably still 10 oz in the tank when I restarted it. When it didn't stop right away, she told me to call back if it stopped again. It did about ten minutes later. I immediately called again and got on a video call with a second customer service rep. The second rep was also very friendly. He got on the video call and said that the amount of slush was below the fill line. I explained the same thing I had said to the first customer rep. He said he thought I'd have to drink the whole 16 oz drink at once. I told him that was like drinking 2-3 servings all at once when it was just me. He said maybe I could put it in the fridge and save it for later. I then told him that would make it soda (because it would thaw). We both got a laugh and he suggested that maybe I could invite a neighbor over and share. Both decent suggestions, but I was really hoping for it to actually keeping a second to third serving cold until I wanted to drink it. We kept trouble shooting and he had me pour another soda can into the machine to see if it would keep running if we restarted it. More soda kept it running, but that meant me drinking 32 oz of slushie/soda in one day by myself and that's a lot for me! The machine says not to turn it off until all of the drink has been dispensed, but it will definitely shut down and start beeping if you drop below a certain level of fill. It is not going to stay on for 12 hours. At least mine doesn't! Maybe if you keep it mostly full it will work that way, but it was a very disappointing discovery that I would need to do that to enjoy my slushies. It really makes me sad that I'm not going to be able to enjoy slushies at my leisure. The (up to) 12 hour cooling was a huge selling point for me. Maybe the Ninja SLUSHi is better for people with a lot of friends or family to enjoy frozen drinks with regularly. As an adult who is a kid at heart and really wanted a slushie machine, I have to give this four stars even though I want to give it five! The drinks are delicious! The clean up is fairly easy (if the machine stays on). But, the cooling is very heavy on the "up to" when it comes to 12 hour of remaining frozen.
