Would have been lovely as a hardback.
This is a fantastic little non-dual book. Quite moving and powerfully written. For the money though, it is overpriced. Would have been lovely as a hardback.

For the seeker and the knower, these words are beautifully and coherently translated for all of us in the English speaking world. Well done!

I bought this book after hearing some extracts read by Jayasāra on youtube and spotify, which I find really great. But in this book, the core text is only a small part, with lot of additional commentary that are not so interesting. In addition the layout is poor: verses are put one behind another instead of with new lines, which makes them difficult to read and appreciate. I encourage readers to find other means to read this very beautiful text.

This is a very small, thin paperback, inexpensive to print no doubt, yet along with the $9.75 postage, (it didn't cost $9.75 to send this - who's fooling who?), this very small, thin paperback cost me over $32.00! Am I complaining? You bet I am! Having finished complaining now, I will say this is a great book which is why I agreed to get unethically soaked, in terms of the cost, to get it.

From the text … “this short book deals with the importance of self-knowledge. In particular, it emphasizes that, due to the unity of existence, there cannot be more than one being, and that is what is called God.“ This small but penetratingly deep book provides astonishingly clear expressions of non-duality and the Nature of Reality. Echoing the thought of Adi Shankara and Advaita Vedanta (among others of course), we have here in a nutshell the pinnacle of mystical Islam, through the profound teachings of Ibn ‘Arabi (arguably the greatest Realized Master of the lineage) and his younger contemporary, the renowned Sufi Mystic Balyani. For those who appreciate this translation, I also recommend “Ibn ‘Arabi: Contemplation of the Holy Mysteries,” which was also translated by Cecilia Twinch. Additionally, I have found the works from Ibn ‘Arabi scholar and author William Chittick to be excellent as well. Finally, those of you who feel attunement with modern-day sages such as Llewellyn Vaughan-Lee, Rupert Spira, Adyashanti, etc. will likely enjoy this clear and direct look into Manifestation (Consciousness) and The Absolute (our primordial essence, the Light of Awareness or, if you please, “God as the Unmoved Mover”) from which it springs.

This is a valuable book for those seekers wishing to transform how they gain real knowledge of the Divine. One feels, while reading this, that the author is doing his best to help rid the reader of blind spots.
