My fiancé loves this! He says it makes his whiskey taste great. The quality is honestly much better than i thought, so it price tag is absolutely worth it. He hasn't had any issues with the torch, that i know of, so it must heat up fine. The wooden cask is real wood, so its durable for sure. Only took him about 2 tries to figure out how to properly use it, so very easy to use.

Husband loves it! It looks great being displayed on our bar & we love smoking out whiskey! It is really easy to use & was a great gift. The only thing is that the torch doesnt work well & this was an expensive set for the torch to not work well.

Bought for my dad and he absolutely loves this! He is working his way through the flavors and hasn't found a bad one yet (so that's good flavor, and smell)! Smokey level, Wonderful, great quality in a cute setup. Great price for the smile on his face! Fits great on his countertop, doesn't take up hardly any room.

Easy to use high quality and quite durable. Doesn’t seem cheaply made. I think it’s a great value for your money. I bought for my husband who states you can taste the flavors and the torch it comes with does its job on heating the chips. I did have to add butane which is fine. I have some at home anyways.

I give this product 3 stars but I do like it so far. Two things about this that I need to mention to future buyers. #1-beware of the butane lighter! The flame does not go away after letting the trigger go. With mine there is a bit of a delay after letting go of the trigger before the flame stops so be careful not to burn yourself or anything else. #2- after I let my bourbon drink fill with smoke as soon as I remove the infuser the smoke leaves the glass. The drink will taste like the flavor of the chips for a minute but does not last for long at all. I was in a bar and served a smoked old fashion, the smoke lingered in the glass for quite awhile and the taste also but with this product not so much. I was a little disappointed. Overall I love the look and quality of the barrel container. Nothing cooler looking on Amazon than this barrel. The infused chips smell nice and taste nice for only a couple minutes (no matter how long I let the smoker do its thing).

This is an attractive and well-designed whisky smoking set. For starters the box it comes in is quite plain but finished in a way that looks good, rather than plain cardboard. The kit is contained within an attractive wooden barrel that is held closed with a metal latch, and splits open to reveal its contents. There's an easily assembled, matching stand included so it can be displayed- and it's worth displaying. The interior is lined with black fabric, with recesses for the various items- the torch, smoker and six tins of wood chips in assorted flavours- hickory, pear, peach, cherry, American oak and apple. Overall it's quite an eye-catching piece. I also like that all the pieces are contained within the barrel; that's very neat. The actual smoker works well too. It's big enough to cover just about any (whisky) glass, and has metal surrounding the compartment where the wood chips go- which provides good protection against accidentally setting it on fire. There are instructions included, but the process is rather intuitive; the chips go into the depression in the wire mesh in the centre of the smoker, it gets set on top of a glass of whisky, the blowtorch is used to light the chips, the lid is placed on the smoker and it's then left to generate smoke and add flavour to the whisky. The mesh is easy to remove and tap the ashes out for cleaning. The torch is a solid, little item that's powerful enough for the job without being excessive. There's no butane included, but it's not difficult to find canisters for sale. I don't know if the different flavours of smoke are distinct enough to easily discern one from the other through the flavour of whisky, but it's good to have the option- plus it means there's a decent quantity of wood chips included. Personally I don't drink much whisky, and I wouldn't smoke a fine malt; but there's no denying it's an impressive little display if you're making drinks for guests- or even if you like the taste of smoked whisky. You could, of course, smoke other spirits or cocktails if you so wished, not only whisky; I can imagine this working well with brandy or even dark rum. I would think that the spirit should be smoked before adding any mixer- smoke the rum with ice before adding ginger beer (and citrus syrup) for a Dark 'n' smoky. I'd strongly recommend this if you're looking for a gift for a whisky lover, or simply wanting to indulge yourself. It's a well-designed, eye-catching, self-contained kit; and using it is always going to provide a topic of conversation if you have guests round for drinks. It's the sort of thing you're likely to keep for years, and maybe get a lot of use out of.

The product is very, very beautiful and looks amazing. The smoker kit is awesome, and it changes any drink to something beyond tasty. There are 6 different flavours, and I only have tested 4, which were perfect. Torch is good (not the best, but good). Overall, very very nice. The barrel itself, alone, is worth the full price and maybe more (at least, in my opinion)
