The movie "Pacific Rim Uprising" delivers the same exhilarating "rock-em sock-em" feel as its predecessor, making it a highly enjoyable watch for fans of giant robots and epic battles. The film picks up ten years after the original, featuring John Boyega as Jake Pentecost, who brings charisma and energy to the role. The action sequences are well-executed, and the visuals are impressive, capturing the essence of the franchise. However, like many sequels, it does suffer from what I like to call the "sequel curse." While it maintains the excitement, it occasionally feels like it’s trying too hard to replicate the magic of the first film without fully exploring new themes or character development. Overall, "Pacific Rim Uprising" is a fun ride that keeps the spirit of the original alive while introducing new elements. It may not reach the same heights as its predecessor, but it's definitely worth watching for a good time!

I gave 3 stars because of the subtitle problem when renting this. At first I thought it was normal, some movies will do that. Then I realized, this was not that type of situation. I tried looking up what they said, nothing, and the responses characters were saying in the story didn't make sense. Meaning, there was supposed to be subtitles of some sort, but Amazon failed to do so. I watched this on my PS5, no subtitles. I then tried my computer after the movie to see if there was a difference, there wasn't. I watched it with English subtitles (which I normally do when watching movies), I also tried switching it off. No luck. BUT...I found a work around this! Which is unfortunate that I found this AFTER I watched the movie. Anyway, if you go to turn on "subtitles", under "audio," you have the options of "English" or "English Audio Description." Select "English Audio Description." This will then have a male narrator (I'm guessing meant for those that are blind) TELLING you what they are saying. It will still not show in the subtitles, you will have to listen to his voice, as he is also explaining what is happening in the scenes. MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS: As far as the movie goes, it was fine. What I was expecting. Action, robots, monsters, stuff from the first movie. As a parent, the only red flags I found (if I wanted to watch this with my kids), were, there were a few swear words, not much. I didn't hear any F ones. The only thing "sexual" was a girl on a bike or something next to a pool in the beginning wearing a bikini, and had some side boob. Then later towards the end-ish of the movie, one of the female characters falls on top of a male character (not meant to be in a sexualized way, but could be taken that way. They fell from the action sequence). They are there for at least 10+ seconds. Also, at the beginning, he's in a club, after, you see alcohol bottles floating in the pool, right before they show the bikini girl. Other than that, I don't remember any other drug/drinking scenes that I can remember. But, of course, every parent is different on what they are ok with their kids watching, I was just giving a heads up. Of course there is violence, and monsters getting sliced up and such with blue blood from them. There may be frightening scenes, if your child is sensitive with that sort of thing. If they ever watched Godzilla and was fine, they will probably be fine with this movie. Hope this helps.

Awesome movie , Could watch again and again , alot of action

Perfect for fans of the first movie or anyone who enjoys action-packed sci-fi.

Premesso che non sono un fan sfegatato della serie Pacific Rim, devo dire che questo film mi è piaciuto molto per gli effetti speciali e le scene di combattimento, un bel film di fantascienza, un sequel che non è, come nella maggior parte dei casi una "minestra riscaldata" tanto per fare soldi al botteghino. Reparto audio 5.1 veramente al top il mio impianto home cinema ha fatto un lavoro egregio, reparto video molto accurato (ed ho preso il dvd, non il blu ray). Consigliato agli amanti della fantascienza.

Good movie. I love movies and I really enjoy 3D movies. I have a good home theatre that can read 3D signals. So, for those of you who enjoy either 3D or 2D and like the Pacific Rim franchise, this is a good buy.

Excellent film et bien dans l'emballage original

No sé qué película les habrán mandado a otras personas, pero la acabo de adquirir por menos de $290 y la calidad tanto de sonido como de video es excelente, si tienen un buen teatro en casa, es una compra obligada! Además para los que les guste ese tipo de cosas, viene doblada al español (que trae mucha menor calidad que en inglés con su Dolby Atmos, cómo es ya lo normal) y los subtítulos TAMBIÉN están en español, mi reproductor es un Xbox One X.
