Quality Server Rack build to last
I was very pleased when my Server Rack arrived, as it exceeded my expectations. The rack is solid and relatively easy to put together. My rack mount servers fit in perfectly without any issues or special adjustments to the rack. I did have a few minor issues with installation, and hopefully these stories will help someone: First, the phillips screwdriver provided (I didn't even realize it came with one, so bonus) was more of a sharp tip instead of a stubby tip; this meant my personal screwdrivers worked better for most of the screws used in installation. Second, the bottom tray pieces were extremely difficult put in, as those particular holes were not pre-threaded. This meant forcing the screws to thread metal. Additionally, I had to move the rack-stand bars out of the way to ensure I could get enough force on them. Third, the top cover panel didn't quite screw down properly all around; one corner was always off. I ended up taking a Dremel to one of the screw holes on the rear side, opening it up enough for the screw to fit properly. I believe at most it was 1/8" I ended up grinding off. Fortunately, the screw covers it up, so it's not even visible. Lastly, There was a small plastic protection film on the key-turn portion of the lock (just the little circle). At first I thought it was just some brushed blue metal to give it a neat look, but I started scraping it off after using it. I prefer to remove all the protective plastic once I get an item in place - this one however required me to disassemble the lock to adequately remove the sealant. This was because the seal covered the sides of the lock as well, which were covered by the handle. This wasn't overly difficult to do, but someone unfamiliar with basic locks might have some difficulty removing this. If you read all of that, it sounds like I ran into a lot of problems - but realistically they were all very easy to solve and didn't detract from the overall quality of the server rack. After minor installation hiccups everything is working great and my servers are happy to be finally sitting in a rack where they belong.

Excellent rack for adding sound damping materials. Easy to assemble.
Contrary to the other reviews, I gave this five stars. The packaging was more than adequate. The screws (changed?) are Phillips head, not Torx. Some of the screws were hex keys. The rack is well designed and all the parts fit together tightly. I was able to completely assemble this rack while sitting in a chair. Excellent casters for rolling (if needed). Glass front door. Reversible (left/right opening) front/rear doors. All tools (Phillips driver, hex keys) that were needed for assembly were included. Some of the screws were tight, but an electric/battery drill with a Phillips (#10?) bit helped. All the different screws/bolts were packaged separately. Because of the weight of this unit, it had to be shipped via freight truck ABF (Arkansas Best Freight) for my order. At no extra in shipping cost and was delivered inside. Also, as a surprise, despite the many ventilation ports, it decreased the overall sound level by about 7 dB. For sound damping, there is 3" (left side) and 3.5" (right side) of clearance for adding layers of your favorite acoustic materials. Forget the egg crates and open-cell "acoustic" foams, just plain crap. Do your research. I'm going with layers of MLV (Mass Loaded Vinyl - closed-cell dense poly) and other materials (i.e. SSP Foam Mat 2" thick). And 1 or 2 Large/Slow/Quiet fans mounted internally, using a small Iphone/USB charger for powering them (with an appropriate voltage regulator). And no, I don't work for any of these people and I am NOT receiving any compensation for my reviews.

great value, great product
I bought this server rack to hold my server, switches and routers. The Quality is great, it is sturdy and very easy to assembly and to work with. Yes, it is heavy and difficult to be wheeled around but the servers and hardware are safe and protected. The front door and rear door close well, are easy to use and you can see your stuff through it. I was not able to mount 12in fans on top of the unit since the holes are further apart. Not sure what kind of fans startech is looking for, since they are selling 12in fans for this unit.

I agree. Good product. Horrible packaging
When my shippment arrived the box was literally falling apart with gaping holes in it. I was amazed that none of the parts were missing. I question whether I recieved a package that was previously shipped and returned. One of the corners of the cabinet door was damaged with a slight bend. But I was able to bend it back to the point that it was pretty much unnoticeable. I purchased it for work and needed to install it right away so I decided to keep it rather than going through the trouble shipping it back and ordering another unit. I am very satisfied with the construction and sturdiness. My only complaint is that the door locks are plastic and a little on the cheap side. The finish seems solid as well. There were no significant scratches or marks which is a miracle considering most of the parts weren't wrapped and the parts were totally loose and moving around inside the packaging. The assembly was straight forward. All the parts fit together well. It came with the required tools (aside from screw drivers) but I used a cordless drill and had the appropriate torx bits which made it a bit easier and faster. I should also mention that I purchased the knock-down rack because I needed to assemble it in a tight server closet with a door that is too narrow to fit a pre-assembled rack cabinet. I assembled most of the cabinet outside the closet and then did the final assembly inside the closet with limited space. Worked like a charm....

Certes un peu chère, mais bien solide, bien construit et très pratique pour loger des serveurs et du matériel réseau. Il faut un peut de temps pour tout assembler, mais très solide et la mobilité avec les roues est très appréciable.

I read some reviews about damaged packaging and other horror stories but… It really seems that these guys upped their game! **WEIGHT WARNING** This is HEAVY - Amazon delivery drivers assisted me in bringing this rack into my home (a HUGE thank you if you ever do read this!) The rack was extremely well packed and protected from damage, no scratches seen. The security of the rack is pretty good, there’s some heavy duty locks and it doesn’t appear that the locks use generic keys either - bonus! Now let’s talk about setting this up. It’s not easy, took just over an hour with someone helping and don’t rely on the screwdriver included - it’s great but an electric screwdriver is so much easier. 18U of rack space is A LOT of space for me but it’s future proofed I guess. I love that this comes with wheels (2 of which have breaks!) and the feet help with the weight and help balance the rack so it’s not all wobbly. To say the style is good - it’s an understatement, I LOVE THIS and I’m only someone into home labbing. It can fit a 600mm server with 700mm rails extremely easily and even has a lockable rear door which helps with cabling. The brushes on the top and bottom of the rack - LOVE THESE - they hide the wiring really well and keeps everything looking neat. It’s costly. However worth every penny I spent. Highly recommended!!!

Tutto bene, solo le istruzioni poco chiare (non per l'inglese bensì per le immagini a caso). Materiali di pregio, rifiniture ottime. Direi perfetto. Consiglio anche le loro slitte per UPS o componenti per rack. ;)

This mobile rack is very strong, made of extruded aluminium. Much better than the sheet steel you usually find. Very easy to assemble, comes with all the tools you need. Took about 1 hour to put together. Racking is pre mounted, but I moved the vertical racks closer to the front door. It’s only just deep enough to take a standard server. I mounted an HP DL 310p gen8, and it fits with some spare room at the back (but not much). With the 2U CMA installed, you can’t fit the rear door (I suspected this would be the case), so no big deal. There reward door will fit on the front if you want better ventilation vs the nice glass door. Cooling was not an issue for me, even with the glass door closed, a switch, console and two servers installed, the fan speeds did not change. I had added a 1U blower unit just in case, but then the rear door is not installed either. Moves easily, well built, looks good. If it was 6” deeper, it would be perfect. Expensive, but worth it.
