Affordable
It works so well! Managed to pay only $75 instead of $250. Installing it was kind of a hassle, but it was 100% worth it.

Install with Patience
I installed this last week. So far it has worked great. Picks up the device and auto starts android auto. The touch screen does not work while using android auto. I assume that is a limitation of the mazda unit as my touchscreen works fine outside of android auto. There are lots of videos on YouTube showing the fast/hack way to remove the device. My unit still worked and I didn't want to destroy it or my dash so I opted for the correct way to get it out. Deconstructing the center console. See the youtube channel "gear gadget experiments" if you have a mazda 3. Overall it wasn't too difficult. It took about 1.5-2 hours because I took my time and was very cautious not to break clips. This was my first time doing anything like this. Everything snapped back together and I don't have any rattles or loose pieces.

I’d buy it again!
I installed this today, including updating my Mazda infotainment software (must be above version 70), and also fixed my cracked display screen. It works! I have a Mazda CX-3 and if you’re scared of disassembling your car interior, it’s much easier than it might look. The hardest part was getting the old hub out. I ended up using a flathead screwdriver to just bust the little tabs off the old one from the side. Don’t clip the new hub in fully until you’ve tested everything for functionality. I am giving this 4 stars because the instructions were not the most clear. It could have used text directions about how to plug things in rather than just a small diagram and more information and how to wrap the cords and why. Also - you need to have a high quality cord for the wired version. I had two cords that I tried that work in my Mazda CX-50 just fine and they did not work with this new unit. Once I grabbed a more expensive cord from inside my house, things worked well.

Works well with my Mazda!
I bought this for my 2017 Mazda3 Touring. It took me some time to figure out, but my car now has Apple CarPlay! So far everything works except I can’t call anyone from my phone using the button on my steering well. I can answer and end calls though, but I can’t start a new call. This is only a minor problem as I can use my touchscreen to do so. The instructions that came with the manual is not very clear and you’ll need to look up instructions on YouTube on how to remove the old USB box and connect the new one. Overall I’m very happy with my purchase and I have no complaints.

Works great when it works, but
I installed the USB hub in my 2017 Mazda CX-5,and it initially worked great with my Android phone (Galaxy Note 20 Ultra}. I used Google Maps for navigation and Spotify for music/podcasts, and the hub worked very well with my phone. However, the SD card slot did not work at all - the mechanism to retain the SD card was broken, so the card would go in too far. I contacted the seller, and they sent me a replacement hub. While I was waiting for the replacement, the USB hub I had installed began randomly shutting down and/or restarting. Sometimes it would go an hour without issue, sometimes only a few minutes. It would either restart or shut down completely and not start up again. installing the replacement hub did not solve the issue. This unit would not start at all, never connecting to my phone, or even providing charging power to either USB port. The SD card slot seemed to hold the card correctly, but it was not recognized by the Mazda navigation system. Thinking it could be an issue with the cables, I took apart the dash and connected the cables that came with the replacement until to the head unit and USB hub. No change. The seller did refund my money, but I would not recommend this USB hub.

Easy to install with videos
I was a little nervous about attempting to install this, but the process went smoothly. There are many tutorials on Youtube to guide you. The hardest part was removing the old unit, which is held in place by clips that are difficult to manipulate due to the constricted space. I would recommend using a butter knife or flathead screwdriver to hold the clips down. I would also buy a trim remover tool, as I put a scratch on my dashboard. Once installed, the unit works perfectly. There is some lag once you start the car, but this is part of the software design and not a huge issue. Also, sometimes CarPlay will cut out and stop working, but I suspect this is a phone issue and not a problem with the unit.

Brilliant Update That Works
I installed this is a 2015 Mazda CX5. The device came in very nice packaging and came with everything you need in the box, USB unit, wires, cable ties, foam covers and instructions. The USB hub you replace is an exact copy of the one in my car so once installed you wouldn't know you had replaced it except for a small phone icon on the unit. It was relatively easy to install. The hardest part is getting the USB unit out of the car as it has four clips holding it in. I pulled the front cover off the old unit with a hook tool and then used a flat head screwdriver to push the clips down. It was still hard to get it out but once out the rest is easy. There are YouTube videos with different techniques on how to get it out. Watch them and try the one you think you can do. Follow the the instructions that you get and you can't go wrong. It works perfectly and connects immediately. All the original Mazda controls work to control the CarPlay screen. This is a great update to a ten year old car which I would highly recommend.
