Audioengine HD3 Home Music System - Wireless Speakers with Bluetooth - 60W Powered Computer and Desktop Speakers with aptX HD Bluetooth

These little fellas have been amazing, I was looking for a nice compact set of speakers for my PC and work laptop. These are amazing, they don't take up too much space and sound spectacular. Note that the bluetooth and built-in DAC easily make these the best speakers of this size and price point. Build quality is top notch.

I was bound on waiting for the HD4s to reach the UK, but got restless and pulled the trigger on the HD3s instead. These sound better (clearer, better separation) than my previous Wharfedale Diamond 11.0 speakers (much bigger) with separate SMSL DAC & Amp. And that's over Bluetooth. Highly recommend these for WFH desk setups.

The product is amazing and it is a 5 star product. However, I have to give 1 star, giving the fact Amazon has shipped in UK where I live a product made for EU, thus I cannot use the power cable and I have to find a new cable or add a power adapted.

Excellent quality and it really sounds perfect in stereo.

Build quality is excellent, sound quality is great, there’s just one major problem for me… These are near field speakers designed for desktop use, yet they hiss at all times when powered. This isn’t a problem when listening to music as it’s never so silent that you hear it (it’s quiet but noticeable at desktop listening distances) but for stuff like teams calls when there are silent periods, it’s really noticeable and off putting. I can’t leave them switched on at my desk unless actively listening to music so am always turning them on and off. Another gripe is that they will always reconnect the last Bluetooth source, even if you’re using a different input. I’d be scrolling on my phone in the bedroom and the speakers at my desk would be playing the audio, even cutting out the audio from my computer to do so. I literally have to unpair and repair every time I want to use the Bluetooth. Unfortunately a deal breaker for me and I will be returning them. If you’re using them for music or listening from a bit further back, you’ll be happy. But for desktop use, look elsewhere.

Eigentlich gute Boxen, aber man muss wissen was man tut. 1. Die Boxen nicht direkt auf den Schreibtisch stellen. Eine zusätzliche Entkopplung kann hier das Klangbild wirklich deutlich verbessern. Zum Testen nehmen Sie einfach 2 volle Tempopackungen und stellen die Boxen darauf. 2. Checken Sie ob ihr Rechner einen besseren DAC hat als die Box. Nutzen Sie abwechselnd den USB Anschluss der Boxen und Analogen Input zusammen mit ihrem Computer. Bei mir war der OnBoard Sound des Rechners erheblich besser als der DAC der Boxen (alle Enhancers etc. abgeschalten während des Vergleichs) 3. Investieren Sie 15-20 Euro für ein gescheit abgeschirmtes Kabel. Überflüssiges Kabel gestreckt auslegen und nicht aufrollen - kaufen Sie also eine möglichst passende Länge. 4. Wollen Sie Bass? Dann kaufen Sie größere Boxen oder schließen Sie einen Subwoofer an die Boxen an. 5. Die Boxen müssen eingespielt werden. Gönnen Sie ihnen also etwas Zeit bevor Sie ihr Urteil fällen. 6. Lassen Sie im Zweifel die Frontabdeckung weg. Für mich klingen Sie klarer und sehen so besser aus. Außer Sie haben Haustiere, Kinder oder ungeschickte Lebensgefährten/Mitbewohner. Ich würde diese Boxen definitiv wieder kaufen.

Pros: - Sounds about 30% better than my old t20 gigaworks ime but that's very subjective. - Lots and lots of input options and almost all input cables provided - All inputs play simultaneously. No need to disconnect when plugging in new device - BT connectivity and front headphone jack - Output for subwoofer if you want to upgrade later Cons: - No remote control for volume control. - Left speaker is main speaker with volume controls. As someone right handed, this bothers me much more than i expected it to. - The speaker to speaker wire has LONG connectors that stick out over 2" so you can forget about placing the speakers against a wall. They should really do 90 degree cables or something. - No RCA to TRS cable was provided. I would have preferred this to the 3.5 to 3.5mm TRS cable. - While better than your run of the mill speakers, the price premium is exorbitant.

Casse attive pensate e studiate per ambienti piccoli, medi al massimo (inferiori ai 20mq), esprimono tutto il loro potenziale se connesse direttamente mediante USB con il dac interno in grado di supportare brani in hi-res. Tuttavia se volete una marcia in più collegate un dac esterno superiore (io ad esempio uso l'Hip dac dell'ifi), scartate i cavi audio al suo interno (buoni ma non eccezionali) in favore di un cablaggio più consistente e duraturo e ottimi risultati vi attenderanno. Bassi corposi, mai invadenti, frequenze medie precise mai taglienti, alti puliti e in perfetta armonia con le altre frequenze. Buona la scena ma molto fa anche il corretto posizionamento delle stesse casse, consiglio l'utilizzo di un supporto esterno per indirizzarle al meglio ed evitare sgradevoli vibrazioni. Buono il volume massimo, non distorcono in alcun modo, bluetooth stabile e affidabile con la compatibilità del codec aptx. Sono l'acquisto perfetto per gli audiofili in erba o per chi ricerca una soluzione compatta senza scendere a compromessi del tipo qualità/prezzo.

La prima autentica coppia di casse per audiofili novellini che io abbia posseduta! Prima possedevo solo 3 casse JBL Xtreme 2. Ora le ho destinate ai momenti conviviali, mentre codeste Audio Engine sono perfette per la stanza che abito quando sono completamente solo. Sono quasi perfette per essere montate da me, cieco assoluto, in totale autonomia (per soddisfarla al 100..j, ad ora (20 Settembre 2025) basta sapere quale è il cavo rosso, in modo da inserirlo negli spinotti rossi adeguati di ogni cassa, e quale sia il cavo nero per fare lo stesso. Io mi sono fatto aiutare da una persona normo-dotata visivamente; tutto il resto l'ho fatto totalmente da solo! Le trovo meravigliose, codeste casse!!!
