I spent a good deal of time drooling over some of the products owned by my German friends several years ago, and now I have a Kavaj case for my iPad 4 and for my iPhone 6. I love both of them. The iPhone case is made of soft black leather; the front cover has a seam near the right side that reduces wear from opening the case over time, and the part attached to the phone is a hard plastic shell (snap-in) covered by the same leather. Some people really want an all-leather case, but I prefer the extra protection, and aesthetically you really cannot tell the difference. There are two slots for credit cards or a driver's license (snug fit at first, but they will loosen up as you use them). While the case offers good protection, this is more of an aesthetic/screen protecting case than a workhorse. If you're really hard on your phone (lots of drops, lots of outdoor use, etc.) then you probably want another case. The leather wears well with everyday use but I could imagine that it wouldn't hold up to constant unrelenting abuse. If you work in business or a similar environment that is less demanding, this is exactly what you want. Finally, Kavaj has excellent customer service, so rest assured that if you have trouble with your case it will be taken care of promptly. Here's a pro-con list for you:PROS:- Soft, high-quality leather typical of Kavaj products. Wears well, looks very professional.- Fold-over front flap protects your screen from other objects in your pocket- All buttons are easily accessible. The headphone jack is exposed enough that even the large plug on my studio headphones connects with no trouble.- Kavaj logo is an indiscreet stamp on the back of the case.- Front cover design is a big improvement over single-flap cases.CONS:- Limited drop/shock protection- Limited coverage of the rounded bottom and top of your iPhone (see the photos). If you're very concerned about scratches around the headphone jack and sleep button, then beware. This is really a matter of personal preference though.- Card sleeves on the case are nicely designed but they cannot completely replace an everyday wallet. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Another great Kavaj case *by T***S on November 4, 2015* This is my second Kavaj case. I have been using one of their cases with my iPad Air for a couple of years now. This new case is a similar design and coloration. The initial build is quality, and all the threads are tight. There was a little glue-like substance on the back where the card slots are, and there was a little strange discoloration on the inside front cover, but not too much to worry about. My iPhone 6s fits very snugly into place and feels very firm. The cover fits perfectly and there is a little magnetic help to keep it closed. I suspect on the front end that this phone case will not last as long as my iPad case simply from use - this one will be going in and out of my pocket and getting banged around a lot more than the iPad. I will be sure to update the review when it is appropriate.I like the full natural leather in Kavaj products. With my iPad cover I have been able to clean and condition the leather and keep it looking good. I will no doubt try the same maintenance with the phone case. After a week of use, I can say I highly recommend this case.If you found this review helpful, please click the yes button. Thanks! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great leather case with Sleep/Wake cover but only lasted six months *by N***B on December 22, 2014* After getting sticker shock looking at other magnetic leather folio wallets for my new iPhone 6 [Sena, Vaja], I was delighted to find this case: though a bit apprehensive that something so inexpensive could be any good. But I've owned two other Kavaj cases, one for my iPad Mini and one for my iPad Air, so I felt confident ordering it. I've been very pleased with the case since getting it nearly three months ago. The leather is beautiful and a true cognac brown, and it fits the iPhone securely but with a slim profile. All the holes for the ports and camera lens are aligned perfectly. Unlike some other reviews that I've read, the magnet cover works well for me, triggering the Smart Sleep/Wake function on the iPhone just as it should. The front cover is flexible enough that it folds flat behind the phone during use, but if you've never used a folio case before, you need to consider whether it would bother you to have to deal with a "flap" all the time. For example, you have to hold it out of the way when using the camera on the phone. That doesn't bother me, but it might someone else. The only downsides I've noted, and they are minor, is that the lower credit card slot on the back cover is a bit tight. Also, sometimes after I've put the phone in my purse the front cover slides a tiny bit upwards. It's not enough to cause the cover to dislodge, or to wake the phone, but I thought I should mention it. So far the cover is lying flat and stays closed securely.UPDATE 4.6.15: I downgraded my review a star because after barely six months of careful use, the stitching at the bottom of the front cover has started to unravel, and a piece of the leather appears to be separating. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.is/products/6628645-kavaj-iphone-6s-6-case-leather-dallas-black-genuine-leather](https://www.desertcart.is/products/6628645-kavaj-iphone-6s-6-case-leather-dallas-black-genuine-leather) --- *Product available on Desertcart Iceland* *Store origin: IS* *Last updated: 2026-10-21*
