Pleasantly surprised
Great tasting coffee for espresso

Different.
Mild, low acid, not your average cup of joe. If you want a dark cup of coffee this isnโt for you. Itโs more on the light side of roasts. Love the taste myself but itโs different so be aware.

unique
I wanted Excelsa Coffee Medium Roast Whole Bean Coffee with Excelsa Bean because I like trying different coffee roasters and I am unfamiliar withh the excelsa coffee bean. My first thought is that the beans look smaller than other beans I use. With any new coffee I buy I brew it in different ways to see where the coffee tastes best so I tried it both as espresso and pourover. To be honest I'm not really sure which way I like it best. Both methods it was quite fruity and not super traditional coffee forward. It was smooth with little bitterness. The taste was kind of unique, but not phenomenal by any means. I don't dislike it, but I don't love it either. Overall I think it was worth a try, but not something I'd drink regularly.

Unique Vietnamese Coffee with Smooth, Bold Flavor
This Excelsa Vietnamese coffee has a strong, fruity, and slightly smoky taste. It's a nice change of pace from typical American coffee, it's not too bitter or acidic. For $20, it's a decent value for the quality, and the lower caffeine is great for afternoon sipping without any late night jitters.

fruity flavor, fresh beans
I'm not usually picky about my coffee, and love trying different brands and roasts. I decided to try this Excelsa Coffee Vietnam medium roast as I'd never tried excelsa before and thought the idea of a rare coffee bean sounded interesting. I think this is a high quality coffee, but it just isn't for me unfortunately. The flavor is extremely fruity overall, and it really doesn't have much of that traditional coffee flavor. This was a let down for me because I love the flavor of coffee itself. I tried it both iced and hot and just didn't enjoy it either way. It also didn't have enough caffeine for me, and I found myself with a headache mid day. I can see this being good for people who want less caffeine, or for drinking closer to bedtime though. It isn't too bitter or acidic which I appreciate, and the beans appear evenly roasted. I think overall it is a high quality coffee and I love that it is pesticide free as well. The beans themselves seemed fresh and were very fragrant which I liked. They ground up easily and brewed as expected. I used this in my traditional coffee maker as well as pour over and it brewed perfectly each way. This bag of coffee is a decent size and a good value for the money in terms of freshness, quality, and quantity received. It just didn't work for me in terms of flavor or caffeine content unfortunately. It was fun to try and I will finish the bag, but it isn't something I would purchase again for myself.

Top-notch coffee that is among the best!
This coffee has to be one of the most delicious, bold, and highest quality coffees I have had in recent years. I am a super fan. Upon opening the resealable bag, the intoxicating aroma of super fresh coffee beans greets you. Truly perfection. The beans produce an equally flavorful and bold experience you seldom ever find. I try multiple new coffees each month and go out of my way to seek out new and interesting whole bean coffees. Rarely do I find anything like this. I use these beans to make a coarse grind suitable for a French press, but it would be good for any type of prep you desire. The lower caffeine amount in this coffee doesn't make me jittery, but still get the boost I desire in the AM. It also means I can enjoy this coffee throughout the day without being overloaded with caffeine. I also really appreciate the fact that it is pesticide-free, as I am a clean eater and clean lifestyle advocate. I never considered that my coffee would have exposure to pesticides but that may have been naive of me. I would absolutely recommend this coffee, and for the highest quality beans you can purchase, think it is a great value for a 12 oz. bag.
