I first wipe off the moisture left on the gasket and then spray it also.

That's why I bought it but I'm afraid to try it. My dryer has an odd order and I can't figure out how to get it out. My washing machine is fine!

As I don't have that issue, I can't say. However the product states that it Helps fight mold and mildew. Give a chance, you may need to spray it directly then wipe with a microfiber cloth.
