I was never much of a watch guy growing up - at least, not for the all-metal, gaudy Rolexes that my pop and uncles were into - but Timex's Expedition series had me changing my mind. I dig the more Spartan, outdoorsy look of fabric or rubber wrist bands coupled with simple but good looking watch faces. The main problem was which one to pick? There was just too many variations that I wanted to try XD! Eventually, I settled on this one. The CGI product picture on the page wasn't much help and I couldn't find a "real" picture of this style, but it was on sale - so I took a chance. I was not disappointed the least bit. This Scout watch was totally right for me. The silver markers and track has good but subtle contrast against the dark blue dial. The bright red-orange second hand was sharp, and even though this is a quartz motion, it landed right on top of the minute tract marks with every tick (though it does take a few hours to set itself back on track after adjusting the time). The fabric band while plain, does not feel cheap at all and is quite comfortable on the wrist. The Indiglo backlit feature was a pleasant surprise for a $50 watch. All-in-all, very happy with my purchase and look forward to getting another Timex Expedition series watch in the future!
