Unexpected Best Buy of the year.
At nearly $40 dollars, and the split reviews, this was one of the biggest gambles I've made on a purchase so far this year- but I am glad I did. I have both Osteo and Rheumatoid arthritis, spinal stenosis, cervical spondylosis, bone spurs, Fibromyalgia, Hypermobile EDS, as well as polyneuropathy - which all play into my neck and back pains/strains and spasms. I have a near-constant pain in my rhomboid muscle (just between my shoulder blade and spine) that I can never get rid of (despite my SO never giving up on trying to rub it out) & the first time I used this traction mat, I was able to apply the right pressure to the right spot, WHILE aligning my neck and back. I place a padded yoga mat, at the foot of my chase lounger, with a low back/lumbar pillow on the yoga mat. Sit on the floor and place my feet up (elevated) onto the lounger, hold this traction mat in place behind my neck, and slowly lean back until I'm laying flat over the lumbar pillow with the traction mat aligned correctly along my upper back, spine and neck. After a minute or so of letting my muscles "settle" around the massage nodules, I hold my palms face up, at shoulder height and "wax-on, wax-off" slow circles, to gently need the rhombus and trapezius muscled (a stretch shown to me by my masseuse). Then slowly, fully extend my arms out laterally, bring my right arm all the way to the left side, then back. Repeat with the left arm. Then cross both arms over my chest and slowly til my shoulders forward. back and side to side. A stretch shown to me by my chiropractor. This also helped me greatly in preventing an ocular migraine. I get severe, recurring and utterly debilitating ocular migraines that no medication has been able to help with (& I've tried them all, even up to Botox for migraines). I had one start up a few days after getting this traction mat, laid it out, and rubbed the "knots" on the back of my head all over the massage nodules, back and forth over and over for what I can only honestly refer to as the best migraine relief I have yet to find. It allowed me to be pain-free enough to fall asleep and hide from the remnants of the migraine- thus escaping the light/sound sensitivity that would have inevitably followed. Would definitely recommend. One of the best-buys I've made this year. Thank you for such a simple. yet amazingly effective product.

Very Nice Product
I purchased this 6 months ago and have used it intermittently as needed for tightness and pain. I was skeptical before I bought it but, for the price gave it a chance. After reading the one and two star reviews this many months later, I disagree. It really does help smooth out tight spots and pain. I am 6'1" without any allergic reactions to it and have no other issues with it. In fact, I find that once I am relaxed enough with this on my neck and shoulders, I am better able to realign my lower back for even more relief. The key may be to move side to side slightly now and then, and do not forget to exhale! It used used for no less than 5 minutes each session. It really is a good product with no issues!

Amazing relief!
Good for your cervical and upper back area. Not too hard and not too soft. Excellent quality and good thickness and support. My husband and I use this multiple times a day. Get it! Such an amazing value as well!

NOT a traction device!
This helps my upper back relax but it is NOT a neck traction device! There is no stretching or ‘pull’ like when they put my neck on traction at PT. The neck part basically just cradles your neck and head so they have a place to sit while it does it’s thing on your upper back. Not worth $35+. I have an $8 cervical release tool that helps my neck much more than this.

Great stretch and pain relief
I have been using the Fanlecy Neck and Shoulder Relaxer for a short period of time and I am impressed. I have not read the instructions on the use but I have been using this item in ways that works for me. I start with putting the neck part a few inches below my neck and lay there for a bit. I then inch up to proper neck alignment and let it stretch. While in this position I bring my knees to my chest and lie there. I then spread my knees to get a stretch in my hips. I HIGHLY recommend flipping the Fanlecy Neck and Shoulder Relaxer around and putting your butt/hips on the neck part. I repeat the first two steps with the resting and stretching. This gives you such a good stretch and feels amazing. The knobs hit just the right pressure points for me and the lift and stretching feels great. With the Fanlecy Neck and Shoulder Relaxer in the same position I then roll on it on my side and lie there to have the knobs hit my pressure points. I then turn and repeat in the other side. I use the Fanlecy Neck and Shoulder Relaxer along with the OPTP Pelvic Rocker Core Trainer twice a day and let me tell you it has helped me a ton. I work on average between 10 to 12 hours a day delivering packages. I am in and out of a truck between 100-200 times a day depending on the route and I lift and move heavy packages throughout the day. Needless to say between my job and an old back injury my lower back hurts at the end of the day. I start and end my day using both these items together and they have helped me tremendously! The Fanlecy Neck and Shoulder Relaxer has been an amazing tool to help alleviate my pain. I cannot say enough good things about this product except I highly recommend trying it. It may not work for everyone but it has helped me.

Keep looking
I have had progressively worsening neck, shoulder and arm pain, across my back and down both arms for almost 8 years. A chiropractor recommended this type of product about 6 years ago, claiming that judicious use would help improve my situation and that I could eventually be able to avoid surgery. I was motivated to do my best. Fast forward, after 2 other chiropractors and countless hours of therapy, massages, and devices, there is no improvement. In fact my situation has deteriorated to the point of no return. Surgery is inevitable because now there is bruising on my spinal cord. And now, I'm not a candidate for disc replacement, because my situation has so significantly degraded. This device was so painful to use, I just knew something was wrong. The only good thing about it was that it caused me to give up and go to a real doctor. See a neurologist or a good neurosurgeon before you subscribe to anything a chiropractor tells you. It will save you time, money, pain and possibly your whole quality of life. Give yourself options.

meh
nice on the neck but the back part honestly doesnt do much except making it look strange and slightly obscene -makes guests uncomfortable:) I ended up mostly using it for feet massage.

It does work out knots and stretch your neck. . .
My only negative is that this thing doesn't come in patterns and better colors. Otherwise, I use it multiple days per week. Sometimes I prop it up on my pillows to give my neck better support while watching TV. Honestly, this was a purchase I'll never regret. I don't know why heat is one of the categories for this cervical product. There are no batteries or plugs. I think it's hard foam, but it doesn't make you overheat like with foam pillows. The nodes that's stick out actually do help workr knots in your back. Everyone is a different size so you might have to move around on it a bit to work out the kinks.
