FANTASIAN Neo Dimension (PS5)

Nothing negative to say. It was an Apple video game and it got translated into a PlayStation version. It's 4K graphics, very good audio that you can change into multiple final fantasy songs. It has English and Japanese. What's the original it didn't have.The only thing I'm going to say is that it has 2.1 audio basically stereo. So when you try to play it and you have a surround sound receiver like home theater system it'll up convert it to surround by simulating it but it won't be full surround. Either way it doesn't matterThe graphics are pretty decent and I'm only I would say about 2 hours into it. Stores seemed pretty good. Even though it starts a little bit cliche that the character loses his memory and slowly regains it.The characters are well fleshed out. They have a variety of systems like shooting behind the opponent not just straight through them. Previous games like final fantasy tactics. It's very straightforward. You can only attack whoever's in front depending on the character, an archer can shoot whoever 's behind or in front like basically optional while simultaneously having weak areas.This one allows something similar if the monster isn't large. They also allow side shots that can curve have multiple enemies. And of course the typical stuff like magic and healing Etc. I haven't played more into it to find out if there's more variety of tactics, but so far those are the ones that I've encountered.

This is a turn-based RPG from Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of Final Fantasy, & Nobuo Uematsu, the composer for Final Fantasy. You start the game off as Leo who suffers a head injury and has amnesia. You team up with others to help get Leo's memory back & to get back to the machine world. This game includes features like changing the battle theme from Fantasian to various Final Fantasy battle themes or you can select random. It also includes a feature called the dimengeon where you can store up to 30 monsters previously encountered for you to fight in a single battle encounter. I recommend this game for its story, characters & gameplay.

Great game. Enjoying the gameplay and old school turn base. Love the fact you can pick music from different FF games as battle themes. The nostalgic feel is something missing for us who grew up on epic made RPG's.

It's so rare to experience a modern game designed in the vain of Top Tier of 90s game development and actually nail it. I'm talking the 90+ Metacritic games of that era, which won Game of the Year awards, and sold millions. Game design and genres have changed so much in 25-35 years since then, and I for one have loved experiencing the change but there is a lack of presence of many great types of games in today's landscape as a result of moving trends. Fantasian is a game that takes modern technology and effortlessly marries it with the best of the best that 90s role-playing games. It is practice a spiritual successor to Final Fantasy by the creator of Final Fantasy, Hironobu Sakaguchi himself. This game has exceeded my wildest expectations, and I am so grateful to have experienced this journey. Very thankful to own it physically for PlayStation 5. Thank you Mistwalker, and Square.

I don't normally write reviews, but this hidden gem on the PS5 couldn't be more deserving of one! When I was a kid, I played a lot of JRPG's on the DS, PS2, and PSP with a very similar look and feel to Fantasian neo dimension! Almost 130 hours in, and I'm still loving every second of it! The game's mechanics and appearance take me back to the carefree days of my childhood, while the writing and premise of the story offers a unique twist for the new generation, but never fails to stay faithful to what kept me coming back for more in the old days! Whether you've been playing RPG's for decades, or thinking about playing them for the first time, Fantasian Neo Dimension is an incredibly enjoyable experience that's easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master! Most underrated game of 2024!

Huge ups for including ff7 remake, rebirth, ff16, pixel remaster, ff14, and original battle theme, the voice acting is pretty solid, the story telling and narrating between Characters is very similar to how lost oddesy pulled it off but now fully voiced and the backgrounds change which is a nice touch, and the dimengeon battle system acts as a Skip a battle now and adds up to 30 enemies currently to fight later which adds some buffs if you can connect with them during the dimengeon battle to balance out difficulty speaking of you have a choice to pick normal or hard options I am on normal and it's seems fair not too easy or hard just right, this is turn based with a nice twist of arching attacks or having an AOE attack depending on what you choose to use so far again 4 hours in and enjoying the story and characters, at this early on I would recommend this game but I have seen people say it's not worth it if you already played the mobile version this feels like a classic to me play this and have fun.

A friend at the game store we frequent recommended this one to me based on my love of Final Fantasy VII, then contacted me again when Amazon put the game on sale, and for both reasons I picked this one up. He was right -- it's a gorgeous game and hits all the right nostalgia feels. It's as if FF7 was made today, the same style, except using dioramas instead of pre-rendered backdrops, and the battles are actually much more fluid. The Dimengeon is a nice touch because you can save up random encounters and do them all at once. Highly recommended!

Loves it

The game brought back the joy of playing a Final Fantasy game for the first time, but it also improved on many of the dynamics of random combats while walking by adding a mode where you can skip many of these, to do these all at once later which is a different type of combat experience that is a bit better, and help with grinding levels or money.The game is long enough for someone that works and cannot spend all day playing the game lime when we were kids so that part is great too.I wish the game was cheaper but in 2025, not many games that fun will be.

You can tell this game has its origins in a mobile game but thay doesn't take away from the story. And to have the classic duo of Sakaguchi and Uematsu involved here makes it a natural play for me.
