Hours of fun!
Good material and construction of the pieces. Kids love it, giving them hours of time to build things.Only negative ... watch your feet, as those little pieces are easy to get left all over the floor.

great toy for a variety of ages
My kids love these straws. They are six years apart in age so sometimes finding toys they both enjoy is a challenge. Also nice that there are enough pieces so they can play simultaneously without sharing. The straws are easy to put together and are open ended for a wide variety of creations. There are a LOT of pieces so clean up is a pain and the connectors are not fun to step on. The original container isn't big enough to easily store all the pieces - if you arrange everything nicely it'll all fit but no one wants to do that, especially kids. We ended up using 2 containers for storage.

Fun, but limited
My daughter and I had fun playing with these for a bit, but quickly became limited on what we could do. I think these are mainly useful for making structural items to use with others... for example, to create tunnels or structural supports for a die-cast car racetrack. It is also fun to tinker with for a bit, but overall on its own, it is somewhat limited.

These are SO fun
Even as an adult these are such a fun way to build because it offers SO much variety. My 4 year old stays entertained with these for a solid 40 minutes. He loves tinkering with them. Make a silly hat, a vehicle, a ladder, a house, a dome, all kinds of possibilities here. The only 2 complaints:1. It is VERY difficult to put them back in the container it comes in unless you take the time to sort them by size and carefully lay them in, so, plan to have another/larger storage bin on hand.2. Some pieces do not fit as snuggly on the pegged "attacher" pieces. They slip right off.

open ended play
I love open ended toys as my grandkids vary widely in age, ability and interests. They all liked this toy! The straws are thicker than a normal straw, more durable even than those thick milkshake straws. That said, they aren't indestructible and one of my grandkids was able to bend and crease one. It didn't ruin it though. They loved building with these and made a variety of things. No one got frustrated, the pieces fit easily together. I do recommend getting a larger container. We couldn't get them to all fit back in the container it came in. I had an extra plastic shoe box container and we filled it and the original container.

Endless Options for Construction
I purchased these to use for a STEM event with 2nd grade students. The straws and connectors will provide many different options for the children to build what ever they can think up. I like that there are pictures included for several different things that can be constructed and that there are possibilities for both straight edges and curves. These are good starting points for the kids to copy if they need something to help them get familiar with how to use the materials. Then they can use their own creativity to create many other things. 700 pieces is an excellent amount for a handful of children to work out of the same tub of supplies at one time or you can split up the supplies into smaller containers and easily share with 10-20 children at once.
