Easy to assemble and looks good
I am very pleased with this steam engine kit, it took a couple of hours to complete and looks great. It steamed up and worked well it actualy sounds like a steam train, I have also tested the generator unit which also worked well. I will definitely buying more Retrol engine's to add to my collection in the future.

Fascinating
Can’t seem to get it generating electricity? Probably something I’m doing wrong. Fun putting together. And it’s fascinating to look at even when it’s not working. The simplicity of all the components just looks so cool. And it does all just work in harmony. Not a sensor in sight. Maybe it’s time to ditch all them sensors on everything. Let’s make stuff like we used to that just worked!

Buy a British made one
It doesn't work. Makes some steam and turns easily by hand but won't spin by steam power. Tried adjusting the governor spring to no avail. It runs out of meths before it makes enough steam, despite filling the tank with boiling water. The burner and water tank are both too small.
