A lifesaver! A definite must have!
We had purchased a magnetic alarm that clipped to my father's shirt while he sat or slept. He has PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) and his physical condition has made it so his mind feels he can just get up and go while his body coordination doesn't quite follow. A fall can be life-threatening for him so this pressure mat has been AMAZING. We actually purchased a magnetic clip-style alarm (like what they have in the hospital) and found that it can easily be detached, which we understand is kind of the point but to the extent that there were tons of false alarms and it got super annoying. The clip-style also bothered my father as he twists and turns in his sleep so he found it extremely uncomfortable. It got to the point where he would end up taking it off without us knowing and we would wake to find him standing or trying to walk around by himself - or even worse, we'd wake when he heard him fall. The magnetic clip-style alarm also had a ridiculously irritating bright, blinking light once it was "armed" which made it unusable during the night. We purchased this pressure mat (after researching pressure sleep pads and then disregarding given that it would go off as my father adjusted his position in bed) and it has been amazing. It's super thin and we place it near the side of my father's bed and put a larger rug on top of it so it's not a tripping hazard. The noise/alarm itself comes from the unit - which has a chime or alarm option - and it's actually so good and loud that we dampen the box by wrapping it in some cloth (so it's loud but not crazy loud as it's being used in a bedroom setting). The cord connecting the alarm box to the pressure mat is really, really long we leave it coiled up as we have a caregiver who is usually in the room with my father. I can see it coming in handy if you needed to have the alarm in a different room from where the patient is. It's also super easy to turn off and on in the dark. So when my father asks for help getting up in the middle of the night (which is what we want him to do), it's easy to find the switch in the dark and turn it off so the alarm doesn't go off. We researched a lot of different versions prior to purchasing it and we are very satisfied with this item. We have only had it for a few months and it's been a lifesaver many times over. We bought this for our loved one and have had significantly more peace of mind by using it.

WORKS LIKE A CHARM
Perfect for letting me know when my puppy wants in the house from the balcony. I don't have to leave the sliding glass door open letting bugs in and heat/air out during the year. With this, when I let her out and close the door, I usually am upstairs or elsewhere in the house. When she steps on the mat to come in, it alerts me instead of her standing there with the whinney face or backing. It helps us both. Just put a little light weight mat over it and it's perfect. The sound is just right, the features for the volume makes it so easy to use and adjust. The range covers the 2600 feet of our home and not sure about the battery life yet because I just used it 3 days ago but so far so good.

Good for a year and a half
I used this for a year and a half as a mat linked to a zwave door sensor and it worked great. I didn’t give it 5 stars because it now sticks in the closed position so I have to buy a new one. This will be my third unit so I think the expected lifespan is slightly more than one year. Not awful given the price.

PRESURE MAT IS GREAT with Pros, Cons & Mods
THIS IS PERFECT... We needed to know when our pair of cats wanted to come back in from out back. It was getting tiring checking every 15 minutes or so to see if one was on the steps by the door. The mat is perfect under a step mat for their weight and registered them every time. PROS The pressure mat is perfect. We are using it outside, the Chime/alarm inside. IN TRUTH it is also perfectly priced. BUT they could sell the mat by itself... because.... CONS (1) The alarm has no volume control. BUT we found if you slide cotton in the round circle (Breather) and tape it over it to keep cotton in place; it cuts the level down to 50%. FIXED (2) As reviews state, the wire is terribly thin. It snapped in the door the second day... BUT STILL WORTH IT $22 dollars. Its an easy fix. That is NOT what I did... MODS *** (FOR THE ADVANCED) Just prior to purchasing the mat, I was about to make one. Nothing as nice and thin as this and the cost would be around $20-30. I was going to make it wireless, and purchase an inexpensive wireless door bell, and letting a pressure plate press the button doorbell button. This mat is nicer. AFTER the first chop of the wires I did purchase a wireless doorbell ($8.99). I opened the push button and soldered the snapped wire to the push button on the circuit board. Made a plastic flap ("L" shaped against wall) so it couldn't get stepped on (flap up), plug the doorbell receiver in the kitchen and WALAH a wireless alarm pressure plate.

Works, but many flaws. Would probably still buy again but hoping for improvements.
This is a lifesaver. So why the 3 star rating? Here’s my story... I moved to a new place where there is no glass sliding door for my cats to come to when they’re ready to come inside. This lets me know when they’re here so I can let them in. I put an outdoor mat over this right in front of the door, ran the wire under the deck boards and taped it around the corner of the door frame so you can’t even see the wire. The speaker is located inside a cabinet nearby the door so that’s also out of the way. This thing isn’t SUPER loud, though. I had to put 10 layers of duct tape over the speaker box and keep it in the closed cabinet to manage the sound level. REALLY wish it would have an adjustable volume knob and some other sound options. The two options are an alarm that sounds like a security alarm (super obnoxious) and one that sounds like a standard doorbell. I wish there was a more soothing sound or shorter sound clip. The unit runs on a 9v battery which is nice. Had it going for 4 months now and it still works fine on the same battery. The cats scratches at the wire (and broke it) before I decided to cover it with tape, so I had to strip the wire and solder them back together. Not a big deal for someone with the experience, but my point is that the wire gauge is super small and delicate.

The wire is attached to the monitor
The reason for the mat is to alert me when he gets out of bed. But the monitor is attached to the mat with a long wire. Why would you think it is a good idea to have it attached to the mat if I am in another room. Am I supposed to have a wire running through my house. Being unable to leave my patient I could not send it back.

System is cost effective and works out well
For the price of this unit I will give it five stars. It works extremely well, in fact it is louder than necessary, but we found a way to mute the sound with cotton balls taped over the front opening. The wiring is very long and would easily extend to another room or area of the house. Of course, the wire could prove to be problematic (tripping) but we found a way to feed it underneath the bed and toward a bookcase where the rest of the wire can be tucked in between books, the alarm unit set on the shelf. On the floor below we taped down the wire with carpet tape to prevent tripping over it. The mat itself is placed on the floor at a designated spot where needed and covered with another small rug to conceal it. It works extremely well, and the muted sound is loud enough, but doesn't overwhelm.

音が…
使用目的にはあっていますし 機能にも問題ありません。 ただ 有線である事と 音量調整が難しい。 施設に入っている親のため購入しましたが 他の利用者の方の迷惑になり お蔵入り😭

So helpful.
Using for my deaf blind dog who forgets that she can bark to go out but still goes to the door. Very helpful, easily heard and a godsend. It can be easily switched off if needed

Great for dog
Puppy wasn’t barking at the door to come in during cold winter. I put the mat underneath carpet on deck so when he stands on it, chime goes off inside. Long cord attached so chime can be placed where you can hear it. Withstands very cold Canadian winter temps. Works great for what I bought it for.

Elderly detection alarm
I use the smart mat as an elderly motion detection to sense when my elderly mum is out of bed. She has a high fall risk, and like to wonder about on her own without informing us. So having this detection/alarm is extremely useful. We layer it within a yoga mat to make it anti slip and placed it at my mum’s bedside so that whenever she leaves her bed and get up, the alarm will go off once her feet touches the mat. The alarm is quite loud, so we had to wrap it with a towel to reduce the volume.
