Perfect for letting me know when my puppy wants in the house from the balcony. I don't have to leave the sliding glass door open letting bugs in and heat/air out during the year. With this, when I let her out and close the door, I usually am upstairs or elsewhere in the house. When she steps on the mat to come in, it alerts me instead of her standing there with the whinney face or backing. It helps us both. Just put a little light weight mat over it and it's perfect. The sound is just right, the features for the volume makes it so easy to use and adjust. The range covers the 2600 feet of our home and not sure about the battery life yet because I just used it 3 days ago but so far so good.

This product has saved me! I'm so greatful. My dog was a rescue and she is smart but doesn't like noises. She never wanted to press the button to let me know she needed to go outside. After so many accidents I blamed myself for not knowing she had to go. My hubby said she needs a mat. He directed me to research for one. It's a small mat that I put underneath the mat that wipes her feet. Since she is only 8 lbs on average, I wasn't convinced it would work. It works perfectly. As soon as it arrived I connected the wires, loaded the battery, and it was ready. Excellent product, absolutely worth the money.

Works great, let's me know when my dogs ready to come back in. Would be nice to have a less annoying tone option or a way to load your own tone

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT AND COMPANY! In this day and age, it is refreshing to find a company that is so responsive and stands behind their products with great customer service. I bought one of these about a year and a half ago. It's outside under another mat, and is indispensable because sometimes the dogs get let out and forgotten and they don't know to paw at the door or bark. This fixes that problem. So I bought another one for the other door that the dogs use. Recently, the first one stopped working after 18 months and it was beat up (plastic torn, exposed insides, etc.) I'm surprised it worked as long as it did. So I figured, well, I'll just get another one and replace it, which I did. Then I thought, well, I should give the manufacturer a chance to fix it if they want. I emailed the company through their website, and Liohn responded w/in 24 hours (good). I asked what the expected lifetime is and explained the situation. They said, "we certainly expect it to last longer than a year and half, especially if it's under another mat." They are sending me a new (even larger!) mat to replace it. I was going to return the replacement i bought ot Amazon, but now I'm thinking I'll just keep it and put it at the third door that the dogs (and human guests) sometimes use. So, the failure of the first one ironically led me to buy another one, so the company made out OK too. This is what good customer service should look like. Most companies, including big companies like Andersen Windows, completely fail at this.

This is a lifesaver. So why the 3 star rating? Here’s my story... I moved to a new place where there is no glass sliding door for my cats to come to when they’re ready to come inside. This lets me know when they’re here so I can let them in. I put an outdoor mat over this right in front of the door, ran the wire under the deck boards and taped it around the corner of the door frame so you can’t even see the wire. The speaker is located inside a cabinet nearby the door so that’s also out of the way. This thing isn’t SUPER loud, though. I had to put 10 layers of duct tape over the speaker box and keep it in the closed cabinet to manage the sound level. REALLY wish it would have an adjustable volume knob and some other sound options. The two options are an alarm that sounds like a security alarm (super obnoxious) and one that sounds like a standard doorbell. I wish there was a more soothing sound or shorter sound clip. The unit runs on a 9v battery which is nice. Had it going for 4 months now and it still works fine on the same battery. The cats scratches at the wire (and broke it) before I decided to cover it with tape, so I had to strip the wire and solder them back together. Not a big deal for someone with the experience, but my point is that the wire gauge is super small and delicate.

I guess I shouldn’t take it out on this product but I am getting so tired of buying things on Amazon only to have them stop working a few weeks after the return window closed. I have 7 cats and as it gets nicer out, it’s harder to get them inside at night. I have one cat that will stay out til 1am before showing up at the back door to come inside. I went back and forth on buying this, but eventually I did and it worked great at first. I could set it loud enough to where it would wake me up and I would let the cat inside. A couple weeks ago it stopped working. Specifically, the chime still works when I press the button, but the pressure sensor in the mat stopped working making this effectively useless. I am just so tired of things not working.

I like this a lot. It’s pressure sensitive. I have it at my door with a rug over it. The rug doesn’t make it go off. I have 2 dogs- a senior and 6 month old puppy. The senior learned it fast. It helps him know when he is at the door because he has lost a lot of vision. It also helps the puppy tell me when he needs to go out. 10/10 from me!! I’d buy again for sure!

Using for my deaf blind dog who forgets that she can bark to go out but still goes to the door. Very helpful, easily heard and a godsend. It can be easily switched off if needed

Puppy wasn’t barking at the door to come in during cold winter. I put the mat underneath carpet on deck so when he stands on it, chime goes off inside. Long cord attached so chime can be placed where you can hear it. Withstands very cold Canadian winter temps. Works great for what I bought it for.

I use the smart mat as an elderly motion detection to sense when my elderly mum is out of bed. She has a high fall risk, and like to wonder about on her own without informing us. So having this detection/alarm is extremely useful. We layer it within a yoga mat to make it anti slip and placed it at my mum’s bedside so that whenever she leaves her bed and get up, the alarm will go off once her feet touches the mat. The alarm is quite loud, so we had to wrap it with a towel to reduce the volume.
