Ive been wanting to put a dimmable bedside table lamp with an LED BULB in my bedroom. The headboard is pretty close to the back of the wall. The way this dimmer works is you plug your lamp into one end of the "extension cord" and then plug your lamp into it. This ends up adding about 2 1/2" of length from the plug tip to the end of it. If your plug goes straight into the back of the wall outlet, and you have something close up against it, it's going to be a problem. My solution was to buy a cube plug for the wall outlet. Now that 2 1/2" length comes out the side of the cube running parallel to the wall instead of extending out from the wall.The other end of the "extension cord" has the dimmer slide on it. A nice feature is that you can completely turn off the lamp from the dimmer by sliding it all the way to the end. You will hear and feel a positive "click" as it goes into the off position. I was afraid that I was going to have to turn the lamp off AND use the dimmer, but once installed, turn your lamp on leave it on. You have full control from the dimmer!If you're going to be using this for an LED bulb or a compact florescent, make sure you buy the model that has the C.L designation. There is another version that looks identical but is not designated by C.L, and it will not work properly with an LED or compact fluorescent bulb. They look identical!I'm using this with a GE 60 Watt LED bulb and it works pretty well. The range of light from dim to full is pretty decent, however I noticed that the specifications call for certain lightbulbs and the preferences is for Sylvania and Philips brand. I may pick up one of those to see if the range of light from low to high is improved. I figured GE would be the benchmark for a quality LED, but they are not identified as a preferred bulb for this unit. You may want to pick up a Sylvania or a Philips brand LED. And make sure the bulb itself is marked "Dimable". If you are using this on a bedroom you might want a "soft white" rather than "daylight" bulb as well. My first bulb was "Daylight" and just far too "hot white" for a bedroom.So far I'm very impressed with this. It was a very inexpensive solution to getting a dimmer in my bedside table lamp without having to replace my otherwise perfectly fine lamp and buy a new expensive dimable LED lamp.

We have been using this dimmer for a few months on an LED rope light we have affixed to the back side of the top of our headboard to provide both lighting and ambiance. This particular rope light is VERY, VERY bright and the dimmer was the perfect fix to adjust the brightness down when necessary such that it doesn't negatively impact our ability to sleep. The dimming variation it provides is very thorough, and you can also turn the light completely off with it. It was super easy to install, and the rectangular fixture that houses the sliding apparatus that does the dimming has rubber pad on the bottom to keep it in place on the nightstand. We've also put up beautiful reclaimed barn wood on that wall and it's nice to create a different look just by adjusting the amount of light shining up on it. We are quite happy with the purchase. We have had no issues whatsoever with the dimmer and would recommend it.

I got this Lutron Credenza LED+ 100-Watt Plug-In Lamp dimmer from Butler Online Stores, delivery uneventful other than it took almost a month from order date. -1 star.Bought three ikea desktop lamps with gu10 base bulb sockets. Also added Feit Electric Bulb LED MR16 450L 6W which is frosted so it’s a little softer light without too much change in color as it dims. It’s something like 5000k so nice pure white light.Once all three were lit, it was too bright in some use cases, so I bought this dimmer.You have to be careful to match all this stuff as some dimmers won’t work with led bulbs and some led bulbs won’t dim at all.This setup works great! The slider gives me very granular control of brightness and it appears professional and the color temperature of the lights don’t shift down (dingy yellow) but stay pure white at most all settings which I need for my work.The Lutron Credenza LED+ 100-Watt Plug-In Lamp is a continuous slider from off to full

Good product, but miss the red indicator light I had on the Lutron I replaced. I'm using this on a LED lamp and it works well on all brightness settings –– no flicking or pulsating.If you're going to use dimmable LED or CFL light bulbs make sure you get a dimmer that is rated for LED/CFL, such as this one.The Lutron I replaced was not rated for LED/CFL, but I was using it with a LED bulb. The lamp would flicker at very dim settings and eventually, the dimmer began to make sounds like it was arcing internally –– time to replace with the correct dimmer.

This review is for the Lutron Crendenza LED+ Plug-In Lamp Dimmer Switch Model# TTCL-100H-BRI was looking for dimmable LED bulbs and a good dimmer control for living room lighting. I recently got a pole lamp with 3 light fixtures that have independent on-off switches and can aim most any direction.I bought a pair of Great Eagle LED 3000K lights that replace 150 to 200 watt bulbs. The lamp instructions say to use only bulbs rated up to 60 watts. But these LED bulb only draw 23 watts each. So it would not be above the safety levels of the lamp.I chose the Lutron Credenza LED+ Plug-In Lamp Dimmer Switch Model# TTCL-100H-BR because it had good reviews and it was designed for use with high wattage dimmable LED bulbs.THIS IS IMPORTANT.......Lutron Credenze says it only controls up to 100 watt LED bulbs. But I believe they mean the true wattage draw and not the wattage brightness. For example.... My 200 watt LED bulbs only draw 23 watts each. Two of them in my pole lamp is still only 46 watts. Well within the 100 watt limit of the dimmer control. So basically, you could control four 200 watt LED bulbs with this one dimmer because each 200 watt LED bulb only draws 23 watts each times four for a combined 92 watt actual wattage draw. I wish the manufacturers would be more specific about that in their descriptions.The TTCL-100H-BR dimmer is very well constructed with heavy duty wire and housing for the switch. Mine has a dimming range that brings a 200 watt LED bulb from a 200 watt down to about a 25 watt bulb brightness. Smooth but firm slide control. More importantly, it has a final "snap" into the off position for a 100% power off. It has to snap back into the on position to be used again as a dimmer. Very easy to install, a child could do it. Unplug the lamp from the wall AC socket, plug the dimmer into the wall AC socket then plug the lap cord into the dimmer socket. DONE! Start using it.Very pleased so far with this dimmer. I will buy more in the near future for other lamps.

I cannot verify that this works as described, it didn't work for me. The previous generation of this dimmer didn't have the detent (stop) that precipitates the last bit of sliding that takes the diming the rest of the way to completely off. I have another lamp and bulb identical to this one with the prior generation of Lutron (has no detent) and it works perfectly. This ad says this slide works with LEDs and CFLs, so let me say right there that's NOT correct ! This dimmer is ONLY capable of diming LEDs and CFLs that are of the dimmable variety. Now I have a dimmable type of LED and it did NOT work for me. Here's what I have that didn't work: I have a 3-way LED bulb that is 50-100-150 equivalences (in brightness to what that wattage would illuminate in an incandescent bulb). There are two types of LED 50-100-150 three-way bulbs on the market and they come in "bright"(white) and "warm." Both of those colorations are at about the same brightness but instead of white the warm has a slight yellow tint. To be sure this dimmer wont work with either of those LED types. My LED bulb is in the 3-way base and the 3-way socket on the lamp is set to its brightest position (so that the dimmer should go from nothing to 150). With this new version of the dimmer the slider goes from 100% down to maybe 85% by the time it reaches the detent, and when you slide a millimeter past the detent the only thing left is completely off for the remainder of the sliding! I wanted this for use in the bedroom where, in the middle of the night, if I needed to find a pill bottle without disturbing my partner I would slide this from completely off to the detent with zero light the whole way instead of a gradual increase, then move just a millimeter past the detent and the next thing you get is from zero light to 85% all at once, and the remainder of the slide (the majority of its length) takes you from 85% to 100% of the lamp's full brightness. That's way too much light to not temporarily blind yourself and wake the other person up. Bottom line, this dimmer functioned over about a 15% difference from full on to slightly less, then to completely off for the rest of the sliding. I already have one of two identical bed stand lamps and LEDs working with the prior version of this dimmer (it has no detent) and that one slides from full brightness down to where only a slight glow is coming from this bulb and of course when coming back on it goes from off to a slight glow then all the way up if you need it to. With the former Lutron dimmer it's a linear increase and very predicable across the whole slide. My 50-100-150 LED lamps are made by FEIT and they are a major player in the LED business. I can't say how this newest Lutron slider works when used with a regular incandescent (filament) lamp. I also can't say how it works with a CFL either. I can say that this sliding dimmer will NOT work properly with a 50-100-150 LED. I can also say if it works with any CFL, or any other LED it will only be with the type of those that declare themselves on their package to be the dimmable type. This slider does NOT provide what those types of CFL & LED lamps have built into their circuitry that makes them dimmable. Using this dimmer with LEDs or CFLs not meant to be dimmed is going to cause you a problem, maybe even a hazard, I'm not sure because it's a combination you are NOT suppose to allow to happen. I have nothing against the idea of Lutron adding a detent, I can see it's usefulness, but the full distance of the slide ought to be a linear progression to more or less light at each end. In my case one-third of this slide did nothing, and move past that and the lamp went to near full brightness or completely off in the other direction. I have recessed ceiling light in the master bathroom and it has a detent in that wall dimmer switch and the slide is progressive and gradual its whole length. Bottom line, I'm not against the detent idea, it's a good idea, but the dimmer should go from zero to full gradually over the distance it slides with no surprises. The dimmer I received is either a fluke or it's representative, if it's representative then Lutron needs to rework this product to fix the problem.

Who needs a bedside lamp within reach? I've used these to control my lamp *over there* and I love that I can control the dimming level so I don't blast my eyes out. Super easy to set up, tuck around the bed headboard/frame, then use forever.

Have two lamps with 3 LED bulbs and 2 smaller LED bulbs in the lamp base dims better with led specific dimmer,also used a second dimmer for an older type floor lamp with 4 LED bulbs works beautiful as well, thanks excellent dimmer cord !

I am using this outside (covered) to dim the lights around my hot tub. it is well enough sealed to provide reasonable outdoor use. since I have "torture" tested this unit over the winter and it is responding beautifully, I feel confident in saying it is very good quality.
