This fountain exceeded my expectations, Iโm very pleased
Wow, Iโm impressed. Iโve used the plastic Petlibro water fountain for quite some time and was pretty pleased with it, but I wanted a stainless steel version to be healthier and help eliminate cat acne for one of my cats. I debated between this one and the full stainless steel fountain from Petlibro, but my cats are picky and I was worried they wouldnโt like the water stream, and itโs just so convenient to see the water level at a glance, so I chose this one. The assembly is so easy, and I absolutely *love* that the pump is cordless, because the cord in the water of the previous one always made me wary. It makes the pump way easier to clean too, as the cord isnโt dragging all over the place. The filter on the pump is a larger, thinner rectangle which will make me more confident that itโs clean when washed, compared to the previous thick square filter. The 4-layer filter goes underneath the spout in the bowl - you just slip your fingers in the water vents on either side and pop it off - I did it without even ruining my nail polish. (Just remove the spout from the cover first or it may go flying) The spout design (which I wasnโt sure the cats would like) is much improved because I can actually clean the whole inside much better - it was a big concern that I couldnโt get to all the grooves of old fountain spout. The water flow is absolutely silent. My catโs drinking noises are the only thing I can hear when Iโm down on the floor next to the bowl. (If I put my ear literally right next to the bowl, I hear the *faintest* hum of the pump inside.) All three cats took to it immediately, even the one who prefers to drink from a dripping faucet like a spoiled prince. Iโve never seen that one drink so throughly from a bowl, even my previous Petlibro fountain, so thatโs a huge win for me. They drink from both the bowl and the spout. When lifted off the base, the water flow stops immediately. I have no complaints, and will be getting another one for the laundry room instead of just replacing the pump on my plastic bowl (no manufacture failure there, I ruined it myself by accidentally pouring boiling water into the dish of pump parts instead of the dish with the scrubby brush to disinfect it). Cat and cat minion approved! Note: The hum in the video is my bathroom light/fan, not the fountain.

Very pleased with this fountain
Model PLWF005 Purchased August 2023 This is a very nice fountain, and we have been using it for 6 months. We have two cats, and although one of them is very slow to accept change, he became a big fan after a couple of weeks. I would buy it again. This actually the second PETLIBRO fountain we have owned; the first one was purchased 2 years prior to this one, although it was an older model, PLWF002. I typically disassemble, hand wash, and replace filters every 2-3 weeks. We replaced the old fountain because it had some pockets that are not accessible for cleaning properly. We could have bought replacement parts instead of a whole new fountain, but we were hopeful the new design would have some improvements, and I liked the idea of having a stainless steel pan instead of a plastic one. There's still a little room for further improvement, but we do like it better than the old one. Improvements over the old one: *First of all, there are fewer parts to handle each time it's disassembled for cleaning. *The replacement filters are smaller and less expensive. *The bowl/pan snaps on to the tank, so it's less likely to accidentally pop out of place by a rambunctious pet (or child). *The tank has a greater water capacity. *The detaching base and cordless tank/pump is much more convenient at cleaning time because you don't have to unplug the cord and worry about keeping the power outlet end dry. *There are fewer difficult/impossible to clean crevices/cavities. Opportunities for improvement: *Although the new pump housing is better than the old design, it still seems to be kind fragile when pulling it apart. I've included photos showing how we use a table knife to aid in the process. We use the loop on the cleaning brush to extract the magnetic impeller. *The fill line is only painted on the right side of the tank. It really should be on BOTH sides (this was true on the old one too). Because of the corner where we wish to place the unit, the fill line is not visible. We cut a strip of white duct tape and applied it on the left side of the tank (outside) at the same fill level. White medical tape would have worked as well. A photo of the results is shown. Long winded review, but I hope it helps!

Water Puddles, Bad Pumps, Bad Customer Service
PROS: 1. Simple, elegant design that doesn't draw attention 2. Wifi and app alert you to low water and power/connection issues CONS: 1. Spillage - Major design flaw results in water puddles under the unit (see below) 2. Braided USB Cable - Typically considered an indicator of a higher-quality cable, the fabric braiding just soaks up spilled water, becomes stained, and results in the harboring of mold and bacteria. 3. Poor Cable Management - The notches cut into the feet of the base station have a hard time retaining the cable, which can cause water level misreadings when loose. PetLibro instructs the user to make sure the cable is installed in these cable management slots. 4. Difficult Pump Disassembly for Cleaning - The plastic pieces of the pump assembly fit too tightly together, and make disassembly of the motor difficult for regular cleaning. Extra tools are often required to separate pieces that should easily come apart for regular cleaning. One of the pieces on mine has a crack from the force required to separate the piece from the pump. 5. Mold & Bacteria - There are a number of tight "nooks and crannies" where bacteria and mold can grow in the motor housing behind the black mesh filter, as well as the plastic filter tray, that are too small to fit the included cleaning brushes into. 6. Main Filter is Probably Useless - There is a silicone pipe that extends from the pump up to the plastic pieces of the bowl. The filters have a hole cut into them for this pipe to pass through. The hole is far too large, meaning debris such as fur, food, and other contaminants can simply drop right into the tank. In addition, the "tabs" on the filters cause additional small gaps for debris to pass through. I say "probably" useless, as whatever media is in the filter might actually do some filtering and/or bacteria reduction, but it's highly unlikely. More Information: This fountain suffers from a major design flaw. The stainless steel bowl is too shallow, and as a result, any animal that laps water near the edge will cause water to overflow the edges and form a puddle between the bowl and base station, as well as on the floor. This is a major flaw for a water fountain. In addition, the base station is NOT submersible, so water ingress through the feet of the unit could permanently damage the unit. I reached out to PetLibro about this flaw. As of May 9, 2025, PetLibro is choosing to ignore the issue, and has not made available a simple plastic shield that would mitigate the overflow. What makes the situation worse is that if you look at PetLibro's newer water fountain offerings, you'll see that these plastic shields are included, which indicates two things: 1) PetLibro is aware of the problem, and 2) PetLibro is choosing to ignore the problem. Additionally, I question the reliability of the water pumps themselves. The water pump that was included with my fountain stopped working after only 3 months of usage. PetLibro indicates they have a 24-Month Warranty on this product, and might have replaced the pump free of charge, but in my case, I needed it working sooner than their Customer Service could get a replacement to me, so I was forced to buy a replacement pump from Amazon. While the unit was disassembled, one of my cats expressed his displeasure with the lack of flowing water by chewing on the neck of the silicone pipe that extends from the pump to the bowl of the fountain, nearly severing the top end from the rest of it. The result of this is that I've been very gingerly cleaning the pipe since then, though it grows closer and closer to coming off completely each time, and I fear it will soon do so. The replacement pipe, according to PetLibro's Customer "Service", is $8. That's on top of the $14 I'm out for replacing the pump, bringing the total for replacement parts to over 25% of the overall cost of the entire product. At less than 2 years of ownership, I'm already over $200 into this thing between the purchase cost, replacement parts, and replacement filters of highly-questionable effectiveness. Overall, I do NOT recommend this product. At this point, now having communicated with PetLibro's Customer Service, I can't recommend buying any product from them. I won't be buying any further products from them once this water fountain and the food dispenser cease to work. I just gave the unit a thorough cleaning a day or two ago. I'll try to remember to get more photos of the things mentioned in this review and update it next time I clean it.

A++ Water Fountain
Shipped quickly and packaged very well. Comes with great instructions however the app walks you through everything. Quick install and super easy to setup. Love the tracking for water intake, frequency, and duration. The magnetic "pumpless" pump is so much nicer than traditional pumps that can get clogged up and stop working. Very quiet and all 3 cats seem to really enjoy it. App allow you to easily adjust notification settings, pet profiles, cleaning cycles, filter replacement, etc. The real-time notifications sent to your smartphone about irregular pet hydration, low water, power or Wi-Fi failure, and when the filter needs replacing are truly real-time. Within 30 second of my pet leaving the fountain the notification will appear. The larger tank capacity has been great and lasts 4-5 days with 3 cats. The only dislike would be regarding the collars and RFID tags. The collars seem to come off a little too easily and I have had the cats actually pull the tag completely off the collar while wrestling. The tag itself is a little large and bulky and clanks off the side of the fountain and food dishes, which my cats don't particularly appreciate. I ended up ordering collars from a 3rd party that work better for us.

Pretty happy w/ it (1 yr & 3 yr in-depth review)
I bought this water fountain back in July and have used it as my main fountain for a household of 2 cats and a small (15 ib) dog since. I was really excited to get this fountain as it has a locking feature at the top, which has been a must have for me as one of my cats has a personal mission to break into any fountain I buy and spill liters worth of water all over the floor. This is my 4th cat water fountain, and it actually works and works pretty well! My cat has been thwarted in her attempts to knock the top portion off which is like a godsend. Pros: - easy to clean, the overall minimalist design and the cordless pump of this fountain makes cleaning it a breeze. I prefer to hand wash my pets dishโs and sometimes all the bells and whistles make it really hard to clean or even want to clean it, especially when I try to clean around the corded pumps. - The replacement filters are relatively affordable, I spent in August after tax a total of $20 and some change on a 8-pack (came with the sponge filter replacements as well) which is a 4 months supply. My old brand was $22 for a 5 pack. - The plug for the base of the fountain has a silicone attachment which (iโm unsure if this is the purpose but it works) protects the plug from any water that may cause internal water damage which I appreciated. - This is definitely one of the most quiet fountains Iโve owned. I sometimes forget I even have it running until the water runs low and needs a top off. Even the drainage from the top portion is very quiet, and I also havenโt had it back up in the top well because it canโt drain well enough. Now the con. Yes, my singular con with this product: - My unit occasionally leaks. At first i chalked this up to the fact that my cats and dogs are quite the rambunctious bunch. But after looking, it seems to be a semi common issue with some other buyers units as well. Just to be sure, I made sure to watch them closely so they didnโt rough house near it, but when I went to refill the fountain, low and behold there was water puddling between the unit and the base and also underneath the base as well. This is definitely far less mess than what my cats have done in the past, but it was a bit disappointing to find that it is a problem with the product itself. Iโm not sure where on the unit the leak is coming from, but it has happened I would say about 4 or 5 times now. I have waterproof flooring and a mat under the fountain but I can see how this would be a concern for many pet parents. Overall, I give this unit a 4/5 because I really do love it and wish I could give it full stars, but the leak has left me from feeling 100% satisfied with this purchase. I spent a pretty penny on this, I would hope at the very least it doesnโt leak. I will put updates if my leak problem improves, my opinion changes or if i buy a second one and test it for leaks. 1/11/2024 Update! I tried various things the last few months trying to see if the leaking problem could be solved. It seems like most of the time my unit leaked once it got close to the minimum water amount. So i maintained the water at least 3 inches above the minimum line, and have only had one leaking incident since. I also found that rinsing the filter every now and again between washes helped cut down the leaking incidents. I normally replaced the filter every 2 to 3 weeks. But I found the closer I replaced them to the 1.5 to 2 weeks, the less the unit leaked as well. Which makes it a bit inconvenient, especially if as a pet parent youโre busy and it slips your mind more often than not. Since many of us purchased fountains to keep not only fresher water for our pets but also a large quantity for peace of mind and simplicity, itโs something to keep in mind. Hope my review helps! Iโll update if I run into any more problems. 7/25/24 I have used this for a full year now and I can confidently say the leakage issues i previously experienced have become basically nonexistent. Following my advice in my previous update has eliminated leaking on my unit. Expanding on what I mentioned previously, be sure that the top white filter AND black pump filter is being rinsed in between washes as both can get build up pretty frequently (definitely recommend replacing the black filter when you replace the white one since they also come in the filter replacement pack). Since my last update, I have had only one leaking incident due to forgetting to rinse the filter. Iโm unsure if this is a cure all for all the leaking units but hopefully this helps with some pet parents struggling with this. 3/2026 It has been 3 years now and I still have this fountain. The pump still works, however, I have noticed within the last 4 months sometimes after a cleaning/top off the pump wonโt run when placed on the bottom piece, I do have to set it on it a couple times before the pump begins to work, but once it starts running I have no issues with it stopping until the next cleaning. I no longer have leaking issues with my unit. I have noticed with the part of the pump that holds the black filter it has started to crack (as it has to be popped off to clean inside the pump) but it hasnโt broken off or affected the pump that I am aware of. I recently got a kitten with my partner so we are considering another one of these water fountains or upgrading to a larger capacity fountain if they offer as we have now have 3 cats and a dog who use it regularly. TLDR: Increased frequency of filter changes/rinsing (white top filter and black pump filter), maintaining the water level, and fully breaking down the pump during washes is extremely important for the leaking issue! I hope this helps others experiencing this problem!

Best cat water fountain
Whatever team that designed this should get an award. This is magical. I have two cats who share this fountain. One likes water, the other does not. This fountain measures how much the cats drink, and while I donโt know how much each cat drinks, I can keep an eye out for the total amount they had each day and take a closer look if the amount fluctuates by a lot. Since what I am paying attention to is the trend, I donโt care about the amount of water evaporating, which should be constant. The true genius of this fountain is, as others have mentioned, that the motor charges wirelessly. This is the second fountain I had to buy due to the motor dying out, and I am sure it will be the last. For some reason, I have confidence that the wireless charging gives it a longer motor life. Speaking of motors, this thing is silent. I was honestly hoping to get some running water background sound out of it, but I donโt hear it at all. Maybe if Iโm in the same room and listening for it. I also love that the top of the fountain is stainless steel, making it much easier to clean. That said, you have to open every part and wash every crevice each time you clean it. The biofilm does build up in just a few days. The company recommends that you clean it weekly, but I clean it twice a week. Maybe you can get by with weekly cleans if you have just one cat, but with two cats, that gets gross. I also think that the cats drink more with the water constantly running. I still keep a bowl upstairs, but they have been drinking out of it less compared to the time prior to the purchase, when there was a bowl on each floor. Suffice to say that I am very happy with this purchase and product. I would love it even more if they could track water consumption by cat using microchips or face recognition, but thatโs a future feature to consider.

Good Product - Not Worth The Price
Pros: looks nice, easy to clean and take everything apart- including the pump! It runs much quieter than other fountains Iโve used. Cons: The app isnโt that impressive, and if you have multiple animals that drink water itโs pointless because if the numbers are off you wonโt know which animal is drinking more or less. After 13 months the pump gave out even with proper care- Iโm seeing if theyโll replace it free of charge since itโs clearly defective rather than a wear and tear issue, but there is no customer service number or even online chat if someone goes wrong- only 48 hour call backs- so you canโt even trouble shoot the device. For a company with such a big market presence this seems extremely unprofessional and a red flag theyโre hoping you wonโt contact them and just give up. Edit note: They did give me a free replacement pump and even a new base incase it was a power source issue. The service was professional and I was happy with the outcome, but still think the lack of direct phone/chat contact weird. Things I wish I had Know: 1 - I should have realized this, but only the top is metal- the bottom where the water is held is plastic and thus more likely to collect bacteria even with regular cleaning. If you have a sickly cat or just want to be more sanitary a fountain that is all metal would work better as plastic gets micro cuts that bacteria can hide in during regular cleaning. PETLIBRO actually has products that are metal- I just didnโt realize at the time. 2. Double Check the cord size and make sure it fits in your space โ- it was much shorter than I thought it would making it difficult to find a place to put the fountain. 3. The Cord is cloth. In general this is nice for electronics- but my cats are over here splashing water around and drooling on it- leaving the cloth wet and yucky. It is a poor choice for this product. Between those last two issues it defeats the point of having a โwireless pumpโ when the cord from the base has issues. The only plus is if the wireless pump dies itโs easy to replace for about $10โ but 13 months with proper care is not a long enough shelf life. Frankly this isnโt that much more impressive than the cheap Walmart fountain we used for years before this product. I wanted to like this product more as it looks so nice and is quite functional- but next time Iโll get a dumber cheaper model and probably be happier and feel less guilty about the price tag!

If I could give it ten stars, I would!
I purchased this fountain after having another brand of pet water fountain for years. It was time-consuming to clean, needed to be refilled often, and would occasionally leak all over the floor even though it was not overfilled. Also, My plug for the unit was behind an immovable china cabinet, so I had to unplug the cable, leaving the power adapter connected, in order to clean it, and then reach behind with two outstretched fingers and try to find the hole for the barrel connector to plug it back in. The unit also got louder over time. BUT NO MORE!!! I purchased this fountain a few months ago, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! It is so well-engineered! It is very easy to clean compared to my other unit. It is virtually silent - I can't hear it running even when standing directly in front of it. The semi-transparent water container is great, so I can just tell at a glance if it's time to clean or refill it. Of course, my favorite feature is that I simply pick it up and take it to the kitchen sink. NO MORE CABLES TO UNPLUG! There is only one complaint I have (actually more of a suggestion to give it 11 stars), and that is to provide a wall-hugging power adapter (or at least one that has the USB plug on the bottom instead of the front) for users who have their outlet behind a piece of furniture against a wall. I was unable to use the supplied power adapter because it caused the connected cable to stick out too far. But fortunately I had a nice wall adapter cable with a bottom plug, and I only had to move the cabinet once to connect it, and now I'm good for the life of the unit! It took a while for my cats to get used to the change (they kept using a water dish upstairs for a while, but they eventually realized it wasn't going to attach them, and now drink from it regularly. I cannot recommend this unit highly enough. Also, there are many aftermarket filters available for it, which is another plus.

Love it so much, I purchased a second one
Our cat's love the water fountain and it has greatly improved their water consumption. It took a couple of days from them to adjust, but once they did, it was great. We have two cats, so I ordered a second one for another floor in our home.

Worth buying, maybe even 2 with multiple cats
Warning: They try to sell you filters and a health tracking service Pretty good water fountain, I have it set to run 24/7, my cats don't seem to mind drinking from it when it's running. If you install the app and have your cats collared it can attribute how much water was consumed to the at the fountain at the time and track your cats water intake. The base runs off a USB cord, comes with wall wart. The tank/pump is driven wirelessly so you can just pick it up to refil/clean/W.H.Y. For tracking you have to put an RFID tag on your cats collar (2 RFID tags and collars included), it cannot use your pets implanted RFID tag for incase it gets lost. The RFID tag is the same type used with their RFID feeder, so you only need 1 tag for each cat. It comes with a couple extra filters for the drain on the top to keep cat hair and whatnot out of the tank. Easy to pop out and clean by hand. The App bothers you every 2 weeks to clean the tank and replace the filter. So far it seems worth it to keep the app even with the every 2 week notice.

Cats are allergic to plastic
The overall concept of the fountain is good, it's just that the whole product should be stainless steel. My cat got chin acne because of the plastic nozzle. Not recommended.
