Spud 18" Triceps and Abdominal Strap for Weight Lifting Bodybuilding Strength Training

Just like every other Spud Inc. product that I have purchased, this Tricep/Abdominal Strap is extremely well made and should last forever. There is no doubt that this strap is a multi-purpose tool, but I purchased it primarily for the purpose of tricep pushdowns. I do a lot of tricep work to balance out my pulling dominant workouts and I've learned that varying up hand position as much as possible, is crucial to maintaining elbow health. This strap allows me to do pushdowns with open hands, which really encourages full extension/locking out of the elbows. I have found that this open hand grip also enhances straight arm pull downs for the same reason. I'm sure that I will find other uses for this strap and look forward to experimenting. I really like the Spuds Inc Triceps Strap (I got the black one). I was having a problem with my previous tri-rope because one side would extend a little further then the other on triceps movements favoring the stronger arm due to the center/hook attachment not being in a fixed position. The result was I had one triceps that would fire/tire out much quicker then the other. I no longer have this problem since I use the Spud Triceps Strap instead. At first I was concerned that the strap may not be comfortable to use vs the tri-rope since it appeared there was no padding where the hands fit into the strap. This has not been the case for me. The material is Heavy Duty yet comfortable as well. I think it feels better than my previous tri-rope and I never wear gloves.

The product is very well made as stated in other reviews. From the quality of the nylon, reinforced stitching and significant gauge d-ring. I use this for face pulls, tricep pulldown and overhead tricep extensions. The straps are comfortable on the hands and displace hand tension areas commonly at risk with a rope attachment. Very pleased, great work Spud inc!! FYI, This is the same material that is used for car tow straps that can yield in excess of 8,000lbs.

Most online reviews arrive at this as the best; better than Rogue's. Despite no hand padding, these are extremely comfortable on triceps press downs. I don't like ropes, because on heavy weights, it feels like my hands are getting crunched on the knobs at the end of the ropes. Not the case here. I also use these with a chain for overhead triceps extensions which is far less awkward than than an 80# dumbbell.
