This book is perfect for someone who wants to learn how to mix drinks to their own accord and break some rules rather than just have a recipe to go by and nothing else. This book explains that every single cocktails can be traced back to six root cocktails. "There are only six cocktails. The Old Fashioned, Martini, Daiquiri, Sidecar, Whiskey Highball and Flip. Once you understand the hows and whys of each root recipe you'll be able to invent entirely new cocktails.

really well written. I am a novice and enjoyed learning about how to make cocktails based on 6 core cocktails and then being able to develop it. I also really liked the fact they recommend brands / types of alcohol to buy which fits each sytle. Recommended!

Heavy book but so fill of amazing cocktail information.

This book is an amazing insight into ideology and has changed the way I do the basics which in turn has improved the cocktails I produce immeasurably. Any amuture mixologist needs this in thier bookshelf

A really nice book, but unfortunately came dirty in one of the corners…😔 don’t have time to return it as it’s a present so will have to go like this.

Absolutely first class. Quite obviously written by people who know what they’re talking about & at the top of their profession. Feels like a natural extension from liquid intelligence by Dave Arnold. Finally, a bar book that covers citrus fruit varieties, a rare find. Indispensable resource for bartenders.
