Absolutely Blows the Litter Robot Out of the Water!
After owning both the Litter Robot and the Cumrige Self Cleaning Litter Box, I can honestly say the Cumrige is the better buy by a mile. I was skeptical at first because it's significantly less expensive, but after several months of use, I'm actually happier with this unit than I ever was with my Litter Robot. First, the value is incredible. You're getting a self-cleaning litter box with a large waste capacity, quiet operation, odor control, and smart safety features for about a third of the cost of a Litter Robot. That's hard to beat. The setup was straightforward, and my cats adapted to it almost immediately. The cleaning cycle is reliable and keeps the litter fresh all day without me having to scoop. The waste drawer is large enough that I don't have to empty it constantly, which is a huge plus for multi-cat households. What surprised me most was how well it controls odors. My laundry room used to smell like a litter box no matter what I did, but now visitors don't even realize the litter box is there. The machine is also much quieter than I expected. The cleaning cycle runs smoothly without startling my cats, and the safety sensors give me peace of mind knowing it won't operate while a cat is inside. If you're considering a Litter Robot but can't justify spending that much money, save yourself hundreds of dollars and buy the Cumrige. It delivers the features that actually matter, works reliably, and costs a fraction of the price. One of the best pet purchases I've made.

Perfect if you want easy, scoop-free litter without the $600 price tag!
I absolutely love this litter box! I have two cats, and this has made managing their litter so much easier. I only have to clean out the waste bin every few days, you just tie up the bag and throw it away. Absolutely no scooping required. You definitely get what you pay for here. This isn't one of those $500–$600 high-tech litter boxes that tracks your cat’s every move and sends constant updates, but if you are just looking for something simple and easy to make your life a little better, this is it. A few things to note: The Sensors work great: It does an excellent job of detecting when a cat enters. If it’s in the middle of a cleaning cycle, it stops instantly so the cat is completely safe. Occasional Resets: It does need to be reset from time to time. When that happens, I just unplug it, hit reset, and that usually does the trick. Basically, if you want a perfect, basic, and easy automatic litter box that gets the job done without breaking the bank, this is the one to get.

So far so good
Initial impression: I bought this after having issues with litter robot and it finally dying completely. I refused to spend $500+ on another box but I have a lot of indoor cats. Set up was easy. The opening is a little small and a little high so I got a step as pictured (sold separately). It’s nice and quiet. It’s cool that the app will show you the weight of the cats that used it and a lot of info. So far my cats have all gone in and checked it out. Does well for the smell. The smaller opening means less litter flying out. I’ll see how it goes for a few weeks and probably buy another one to replace my other litter robot which is glitching out. Conclusion: excellent for the price, works similar to the litter robot and less than half the price

Safe, Simple & Stress-free
I really like this self-cleaning litter box because it saves me from having to scoop every day. It’s very low maintenance and keeps odors under control. The key is keeping the litter level close to the max line so waste doesn’t stick to the cleaning mechanism, and I empty the waste liner about twice a week. I know some people worry their cat may be afraid of the unit or that it could be unsafe, but my cat loves it. The cleaning cycle has never started while he was inside, and I’ve never had any safety concerns. Overall, this has made caring for my cat much easier, and I highly recommend it.

Best litter box for cats
This lister box has made pet keeping sooo much easier! The set up of the machine is fairly easy and took me less than 10 minutes. My cat got used to the litter box very fast and I love that there is a light on there for night time as well. As for emptying the litter box and placing a new trash bag, you just pull the litter box like a drawer and lift the bag out and toss it. And then place a new trash bag into the drawer and slide it back in. This litter box is super easy to clean, set up and light enough to move around if you want to put it in a different spot in the house. It’s cat approved and owner approved too. I used to have a different automatic litter box and it was always a pain having to clean it out becuase the poo would always spill out. With this version life has been so much easier replacing the trash bag and cleaning up my cats litter.

This Self Cleaning Litter-box is great - BUT What i wish i’d known from day one….
PLEASE READ - ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE HAVING “ISSUES” WITH THIS LITTER BOX ! I bought this litter box with high hopes right after the first of the year - so i’ve worked with it now for almost 4 months. I LOVE IT - and so does my Cat - but its been a work in process. Here’s what i’ve learned. 1) the description says any clumping cat litter works and it lists several including my long time favorite, “world’s best”. Nevertheless, from the start - i had problems. Every possible trigger would cause a shutdown - every possible error message. ALL Of them. Almost randomly. And whenever i removed the drum, i sometimes found some damp used litter and significant amounts of condensation between the drum and casing. That couldn’t be right. I would completely dismantle and thoroughly clean and dry the entire assembly - and it would eventually start to work again - only to fail again a few days later. In the end - i found that the only ‘real’ malfunction happened when i replaced a bag in the disposal tray and accidentally covered the 3 magnets on the end closest to me (the front). You’ll see, its tricky to put the bag in correctly - i wish there was a better ‘catch’ for the bag - but fact is, if the plastic covers those magnets - you’ll have a problem. As for all the other error messages - read on. I was not happy with customer service. I suspect i was talking with a bot much of the time as responses seemed to pick up on random words and not the actual issue i was describing. And they would loop - in terms of the responses. They’d ask for more info or pictures or videos and i’d reply as requested only to get a response addressing something non related. Not ever helpful. I considered giving up several times - but i was also deep into the process of helping our cat adjust (more on that later) - so i was determined not to give up….but it was truly painful….. Then i noticed that the cloth removable ‘envelope’ tray in the bottom of the drum was suffering damage that looked like it was being chemically damaged - ‘melting’ a bit - the only possible explanation was ammonia from urine. I finally wondered if it could be the litter, although i knew i was using one named in the product description as approved. Finally - i asked ‘rufus’ - “what is the best litter for this litterbox” - Rufus answered that based on the product description and my shopping history -it recommended World’s Best… so i asked again, “other than World’s Best, what litter is best for this litter box” - Rufus recommended 3 as ‘most popular’ and from those i chose Dr. Elsey’s Precious Cat Ultra. Boom - no more issues at all. Period. I’ve had a full month of perfection. Not one glitch. Its night and day. So i recommend you either start with Dr Elsey’s - OR, if you are having trouble with this self cleaning litter box, TRY switching … 2) because the waste container sits below the drum - the entrance is a hole positioned well above the head of most cats. Especially For an older cat, set in their way - its asking alot to expect them to jump up and into a dark hole on a new machine to do their business. (i know, cats love to explore - but trust me….for 3 days our cat (apparently) kept her paws crossed…. SO - First i added a step recommended along with the litterbox. It worked great to catch litter on paws, but it was only about 4 inches high - far too low to reassure our cat. So i added a step stool to see if that helped - indeed it did! But the steps were too narrow for her to casually step in, groom the litter pre and post visit or groom herself. She tended to leap in and leap out. Her stays were very brief and limited to maybe once a day for weeks. I talked with the vet - she urged patience. She warned some cats -especially those over 7yrs - never do adjust. She cautioned me to keep the old box for up to 6 months. I left treats on the steps and inside on top of clean litter. It helped but it was clear visits to the litterbox were not comfortable and relaxed. Then I found a neat 2 step pet stepstool. It was actually made of heavy cardboard and covered with fabric and the steps were padded and hid storage space. The two steps zip together. They were great - and roomy for the cat - and i could use the step to sit on as i changed the litter bags or dealt with malfunction issues - but the top step was too high - now our cat had to step downward into the litterbox making it harder for her to rake the litter… and again leaving her ‘leaping’ up and out of the litterbox. BUT thanks to being heavy cardboard construction - i found i could with a boxcutter - cut down the top step to the exact height needed, bind with duct tape, and cover the re-worked top edge with the lid. Perfection. Our cat wanders up, sits on her top step, walks in, takes her time in the box - steps out and grooms, returns several times a day - she is clearly fully adjusted. So - my advice is to make sure you’re using a litter that the MACHINE likes, and add steps of the correct height that give your cat plenty of space to maneuver, help them adjust if needed, and be patient. Its truly worth the effort. This self cleaning box is a fantastic improvement - and so much easier for me to maintain - not to mention almost no smell ever. I love it.

Our cat liked it instantly!
We have had this litter box now for over 5 months and it has been life changing in terms of cleanness and easy of use. It is well built and seems like it will last a long time. It is the right size for our cat who started using the machine instantly with no issues what so ever. We had recieved a unit that was missing a peice but the manufacturer was prompt in getting us a replacement. We also like that it came with a set of starter bags to get going out of the box. Taking off one star for the Tuya iphone app. The app is functional and tells you how often your cat used the box. However it does not have a way (or we have not figured out how) to let us know when the machine is stuck, low on litter or ready for a cleanup. It is not a huge issue but those improvements would make it truly a complete package.

Great customer support and very helpful, top quality cat litter box at affordable cost
Updated 9/11/2025: I just returned from a 3 week camping trip where I had to clean the kitty litter box daily in the camper. I was so eager to get the cats back to their Cumrige Litter robot! Cleaning is so much less frequent and easier. Odor control is much better. I cannot recommend this litter robot enough. The remainder of my review below brings plenty of insight to its benefits. 8/3/2025: I purchased this Cumrige Litter robot during Amazon Days. When it arrived, I was busy and waited a few days before unboxing. Two days after receiving, I discovered the same item was offered for a 30% discount less than the 'discounted' price I paid on Amazon Days. I started to return the item and repurchase, but that would have cost nearly $30 to ship back. I reached out to the company stating I would have gladly waited, I didn't feel my Amazon Days price was a fair discount, and requested if they would offer me the 30% discount by keeping the item, saving us both the return/reshipping fees. This company was quick to respond and agreed to offer me the refund. What a wonderful company customer service! So, I unboxed and assembled the litter box. I did have to unscrew the bearing ring washers and reseat that bearing assembly under the washers so that it would properly turn the drum. I easily connected to my wifi and tested the functions of the unit. All worked as advertised. My router has 5Ghz / 2.4Ghz dual mode, notorious for dropping the devices requiring 2.4Ghz, like cameras. The device stays in the app queue for the litter box, may show offline, but escaping out of the error screen returns the device to normal connection operation, does not lose the records, another bonus. I find the app very helpful to keep track of use. Weight is not totally accurate, but close enough that I can at least tell which cat is which, as they are about a 4 pound difference right now. The app shows how long each cat spends in the litter box, time entered, and you can adjust how long the drum waits to clean the litter after they exit, giving it time to bind. The drum moves slowly and senses if cat is getting in again as a safety feature and will stop moving. They are highly entertained watching! I did accidentally add a little too much litter on first attempt and received the pinch error. After removing some of the litter, it returned to normal function. Very minimal amount of litter required compared to standard litter boxes. I tried a few different brands and settled on the Arm & Hammer Glide. The app also shows the pinch error if the cats enter while it is in the cleaning cycle, but again returns to clean in a few seconds after detecting their absence. Kitties took only a few days getting used to using it, but still enjoy the entertainment. My 10 month old kitten is already pretty comfortable with it. The 3 1/2 month old was curious, but I added a small comfortable height step stool for her to enter/ exit due to the opening height. I am enjoying just one cat box to clean, so much less frequently. Two cats and 2 stinky boxes was overwhelming! The smell is concealed below in a disposable bag with a deodorizer to help mask, also. You do notice the odors during the cleaning cycle & within a few minutes after. I keep a powder cup of of baking soda with a dash of lavender to sprinkle in every few days, and with fresh litter or as needed. I started using the Arm & Hammer Glide litter after trying a few others. The box is an okay height for my part Norwegian Forest Cat, he's already pretty tall with super long hind legs at just under one year old. Baby girl is Balinese, at 4 months, so likely she will be more petite than average Siamese when she is full grown. She just got sprayed yesterday and I kept her in my bedroom overnight with a large pellet type litter in litterbox. This morning, she went straight back to the litter robot! They love it! I appreciate the automation. My first total cleaning was an eye opener, as I took the whole thing outside to do a through cleaning! A bit more effort to thoroughly clean the entire unit, but not a show stopper, nor does it require this thorough cleaning frequently if properly maintained in between. I think I will order extra liners for the drum to support it! I had it all outside drying in the sun after cleaning it with dishwasher liquid and water. They couldn't wait for me to get their robot back in place!!! What a great invention! Who knew? Automated help for cat lovers at it's best! ❤️
