Yes, but this printer eats printer cartridges like there's no tomorrow. Not a good printer

Does it require a subscription of some sort to continue printing, you know like the one HP has?

No. Maybe that’s more with corporate printers. The only thing you’ll need to buy additionally is ink. If you do lots of printing, I think you can pay an affordable monthly fee to Amazon and they’ll ship you ink when you’re in need. Hope this helps:-)
