Great quality and feels better and more secure holding my X-e5 but it is quite difficult to adjust the exposure compensation dial now especially when you're shooting on P mode.

Perfect fit. Makes it easier, more comfortable to hold a compact camera. Most importantly, it minimizes accidental movement of the top adjustment settings knobs and dials.

I’m conflicted about this product. On one hand, it certainly does what it’s intended to do. It positions my thumb higher towards the top plate of camera, which puts the camera grip in greater contact with my palm. This alleviates tension on my hand, making for a more relaxing shooting/carrying experience. However, this is a double-edged sword, because now my thumb has to travel further to access all the rear buttons/dials while shooting. I’m sure I can readjust after spending more time with it, but it’s a nuisance to miss shots because the buttons and dials are not where I expect them to be. There are a few other things which are issues for me. First, the build quality isn’t great. The hinge is very loose right out of the box. Tightening the pivot screw with a hex key did nothing. I can only hope it doesn’t work itself looser over time. The hotshoe mount is also quite loose, to the point where the mount shifts inside the hotshoe depending how much pressure my thumb puts on its grip. It doesn’t inspire confidence. Second, this grip blocks the top control dial almost completely. I personally set this dial to EV on my camera, so I actually don’t use it much in practice. However, someone who does use that control regularly will get annoyed at how little travel their thumb has to adjust it, given how much it’s blocked by the grip. Lastly, this thing is incredibly expensive for what it is. The unit is tiny, and honestly, the build quality isn’t great. The value proposition is minimal, given the high price doesn’t give you a markedly better shooting experience - at least not to the degree of a baseplate or grip extender, for example. I’ll live with this grip for another week and decide if it’s worth keeping.

Excellent option for X-E5, the rubberized section and generous size makes this the best X-E5 shoe-mount grip available in my opinion. That said, I did find the rear dial to be more difficult to use with the grip installed (i.e., it is more difficult to spin the rear dial without also pressing it in, so if you have a function assigned to pressing the dial in, you may inadvertently active that while attempting to turn the dial), so there is some trade-off, but I can get around that by adjusting controls in the camera menu, and the improvement to grip comfort while retaining a low profile make this a very worthwhile addition.
