I recently purchased the 7-inch Portable Car Screen to upgrade the infotainment system in my 2015 Toyota Corolla, which has a defective display. I was eager to enjoy the convenience of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto without diving into complicated wiring, and this device fit the bill perfectly, especially since my family uses both Android and Apple devices.The setup was a breeze. If you’re familiar with your settings menu, you won’t encounter any issues getting this device up and running. It’s truly plug-and-play, which I appreciate.The display quality is good enough for my needs. Everything is well-lit, though I did find that the automatic brightness adjustment doesn't work as well as I hoped. I ended up manually adjusting it, but it’s a minor inconvenience.When it comes to CarPlay and Android Auto, this screen performs excellently. It connects quickly and responds well to my commands. I even set up a shortcut on my phone to automatically launch CarPlay when this device connects via Bluetooth, making it super convenient. Plus, the fact that it’s wireless is a game-changer!The sound quality is passable, considering the price. I tried both the aux and FM methods for audio playback. The FM option does have a bit of static, but it’s not noticeable at higher volumes and sounds better than the aux method.One of the standout features for me is its ease of use. It’s straightforward to set up and operate, making it perfect for anyone looking to enhance their driving experience without breaking the bank.There are a couple of drawbacks, though. I did not want to remove the factory OEM radio because replacing it would have been a major project and could have caused compatibility issues. This unit gave me all the modern features I wanted without having to modify the factory system.I have had it mounted in my Charger for several months now, and it has worked great. Ever since I used CarPlay in a rental vehicle, I have wanted CarPlay for my vehicle. I have an older car so there is no CarPlay. I was checking around for a stereo when I saw this CarPlay Display for the low cost of ~$50. Could it work?I received the box and inside was the display, a mounting bracket and various cables such as a 1/8" stereo audio cord so you can connect the output of the device to your existing stereo (provided it has an aux in). There's a small manual that describes the various connections that you can make. Also provided is a nice lighter charger with an extra USB slot on top. Perfect for existing charger setups. I set it up in my car as a test without mounting.I just wanted to see if it worked.I turned it on and it asked to pair to my iPhone. It also said to keep WiFI enabled on the iPhone. I bluetooth paired and like MAGIC CarPlay came up on the display. I was amazed! This worked right away. Not only that the display has a decently loud speaker system so I didn't need to hook it up to my stereo. I also found out it has a mic on the lower bottom left. I made calls; everyone said it sounded great! I tried out the messaging feature - it's nice! It reads out the messages and I am able to respond. Very cool.Mounting. This was the tough part. I wanted to mount it to the side of the dash, but even though I had a good clean surface, the provided mount eventually slipped off. I realized that the top of dash method is probably the best and I used the provided small adhesive circle with plastic to stick on the dash, then the mounting unit. So far so good. It's really cool to finally have CarPlay!I have been using it for a few days now and it is more reliable than my stereo ever was. My stereo had bluetooth, a Siri button etc.... but it always glitched out with Siri, bluetooth calls were sometimes distorted or dropped and every time Apple came out with a new version of iOS, I had to unpair and set it up again.This CarPlay display is great and for just $50, it's a great deal. Happy I got it!

UPDATE x3:This thing is so awesome that I wanted to update yall. My girlfriend got a new car that had CarPlay in it already so she didn’t need this anymore. So I took the device and used it for my 1990s-early 2000’s RCA stereo and now I have a touch screen with CarPlay for my in home stereo. LOL This thing rocks!!UPDATE x2:I used a new power cable instead of the one provided. The car socket I used had 2 USB ports, that I was able to use for the device and to simultaneously charge a phone without interference and/or the screen turning off. So, like I said in my first update, just get a new power cable with a USB port, or get a dual USB car socket and a new power cable and you’ll be all set. Did not turn off for the entire 6 hour trip.UPDATE:As stated before, I was going on a roughly 6 hour straight trip and was excited to see how this unit works. Here’s what I found out:Within 10 minutes of the drive, the unit shut off 3 times. I was disappointed, and so was my girlfriend. BUT, I noticed quickly, that it would only shut off when she plugged her phone into the provided power cord with integrated USB port. Once I found this out, I told her to not plug it in and see how it does. After the 3 failures within the first 10 minutes of the trip, the unit remained on and extremely useful when navigating my trip. I think they cut corners in the output power of the cable, so I’d recommend getting another power cord if you intend on charging your phone while using this device on the same car outlet. I still will keep my review at 5 stars. This was so useful. She was able to navigate Facebook and do what she wanted while on her phone and I could use the device to navigate, unlike last year where we only used her phone for GPS. We were both extremely happy. I highly, HIGHLY, recommend, just keep in mind the power cord recommendation. The screen mirroring is awesome. We were able to watch some Netflix when we stopped for food.ORIGINAL REVIEW:Purchased this for my girlfriend’s 2014 CRV so she could have hands free nav and text/talk. She absolutely loves it.Out of the box:This is probably the most well packaged product I have ever received on Amazon. Major props. For 35 bucks? I was expecting a box, a power cord and the device. Instead, what you get is a very well packaged device with a dust cover and screen protector surrounded by foam padding. The box contained the power cord with a usb port to have more charging options for your phone, an aux cord, trim removal tool, an extremely nice mount with (what they said is) 3M glue on the suction cup, a dash pad for dashboards with uneven surfaces (for the suction cup) and cord management clips. Extremely impressed.Installation:Install was 5 minutes. However, I will be purchasing a CD mount (sold separate) just for location preference but it is not needed. The device powers on a tenth of a second after the car turns on and it loads within 5 seconds to the main screen (at first - if a cell phone is connected, it loads up Apple car play within 5 seconds after initial turn on, insanely good). The instructions were a little janky, some spelling errors but fairly easy to read. You do need to plug in the included aux cord from the device to your vehicle to play sound (I couldn’t figure out how to do it wirelessly, if that’s even possible). The screen is super clear, not as crisp as an expensive display, but definitely WELL beyond the price point. I was expecting pixelation for 35 dollars.Connectivity:This device is extremely easy to connect to. My girlfriend has an iPhone and it would connect and be ready to go within a minute (for the first time connecting). After connecting to it for the first time, once the vehicle started, within 5 second, Apple CarPlay was up and ready to go. Absolutely seamless and not what I was expecting for 35 dollars.Durability:This unit feels hefty. Not some hollowed out shell of a screen. It feels like I’m holding a tablet. Amazing quality.Functionality:The device, is pretty smooth. I’d rate it 8/10. There is some very minor refresh rate issues. I’m used to 155hz monitors so I can notice the little unclear screen movements sometimes, but often times it’s pretty smooth. My girlfriend doesn’t even notice. The touch screen is very responsive. No input lag, and it is calibrated extremely well. Where you touch, it senses, so typing an address on Apple Maps is seamless. Siri works perfectly.NOTE:One reviewer noted that it would cut off randomly. I am going on a trip in a few weeks and will be driving non-stop for 6 hours. I will update my review with either positive, or negative feedback. I have NOT tested the screen mirror function yet. That will be in my update.All in all, for 35 bucks, if you do not have this and you want to modernize your older vehicle, buy this product. This product is very well made and deserving of more than 4.1 stars. I will definitely buy one for another one of my vehicles that does not have CarPlay. I've had Android Auto in several of my vehicles over the past few years and I really like having it available. Unfortunately I also love my 2013 Ford F-250 which didn't come with Android Auto installed. Bummer!So, I thought I'd take a chance on this one. The price was attractive and with easy Amazon returns, what did I have to lose.Of all the Android Auto units I've set up, this is by far the easiest one to do! I'm not going to get into the nitty picky details on how to do it. You can read other reviews about that. Just take my word that it was just super easy and works right off the bat. I'm using an unused FM radio channel for audio. And it auto connects to your phone when you start the vehicle. Can't get any simpler than that.Because it has a built-in FM transmitter, the audio quality is excellent. Touch screen is very responsive. Bright, clear and sharp display.I don't have a lot more to say about except I am extremely happy with it!I don't have an Apple phone, so I couldn't check out the Car Play version of it but I'm sure it works just as well.Oh, and one bonus..... It has a screen mirroring function. It will play videos from your phone directly to it. Only use this while you're parked of course.I recommend ordering one and given to the shot!
