smooth taste 🍵 and good quality ✨. Just wish the quantity was a little more! 💚
I tried the Tencha Matcha Green Tea and I really loved it 🍵. The color is bright green 🌿, the texture is smooth, and the taste feels fresh and authentic. It froths nicely with a whisk and gives a calming energy boost. The only drawback is that the quantity is quite less compared to the price. But overall, it’s a really good ceremonial grade matcha for beginners as well as regular tea lovers 💚.

Tencha Ceremonial Classic: Pleasantly surprised by the quality
When I bought this pack I was still quite new to matcha and in my learning / experimental phase, and it was a clear step up from the previous matcha I had tried (and loved nevertheless). It is a stunning bright green, and tastes beautifully fresh with a well-balanced flavour that pairs well with my iced almond milk. I managed to get around 18 drinks out of the 50 gms pack, which is a pretty good yield in this quality range in my experience (the 25-50 servings I see advertised on packs had never held true for me as I need around 3 gms per drink for a good sized drink). Note that this matcha is from the Shizuouka region, which tends to be slightly different from that grown in Uji. This is a matter of preference. I did buy the more premium version (Elite Grade) for a month's supply as well, and in comparison that is slightly more subtle and tastes good on its own while I find the Classic to be better suited for lattes. Both require quite a bit of elbow grease to blend, and do not dissolve completely. There are visible specks of clusters floating around in my drink, which means continuous stirring so they don't settle. Lastly, I do think this matcha is slightly overpriced, as at this quality you can definitely get more for your money. Overall, I think this is a good matcha for beginners. I think I preferred the Classic blend as the difference in taste and quality was not that noticeable between the two, and it did not justify the jump in price for the Elite. I have now switched over to a superior quality matcha from another brand, although will probably continue to buy these at times to avoid monotony.

Simple and tasty!
After tons of research about this product here is the one comment you need to decide if you want to buy tencha’s matcha: If you’re a matcha drinker purely for taste id say this is great! Very mild taste, and notes are just as the product says! No strong umami taste which is my favourite part and good colour. If you’re an expert matcha drinker who likes complex flavours keep scrolling! Cuz i don’t think this product with have the depth and flavour profile you are looking for! All in all it tastes like matcha you would get at a cafe and definitely worth your money!

Sipping on Tencha Ceremonial Classic Grade Matcha and loving the vibrant green color. It is rich and smooth in texture, can be used without sifting too. The flavour is bold and vegetal. Really like it

Product is Ok but Can is Rusty.
The product is good. The taste is a bit flat, but that makes it beginner-friendly and won’t overwhelm you if you’re used to premium brands. The major issue is the packaging. They’re selling this product in a rusty can, and they haven’t mentioned anywhere that you’re supposed to store the matcha directly in the can after opening it. Storing matcha in a rusty can is definitely not ideal. If you want to buy it, go for the packet version instead of the can.

Fresh, delicious and a great alternative to coffee/tea
I watched a short film from Business Insider on "Why Ceremonial-Grade Matcha Is So Expensive" - highly recommend! It's such a moving film and I got inspired to try ceremonial matcha. Living in South India, I feel like chai and coffee are the primary go-to, but matcha is a great healthy alternative for folks who can afford it. When I got the matcha, I was impressed by the color and freshness. Though I felt their founders should revisit the packaging design. Their tin had a plastic packet inside with the powder, though my packet had a hole and I ended up spilling some powder. The tin itself is big, though deceptive as there's only 30 gm inside. The powder should last you 2 weeks - 1 month, depending on how much you drink. Once I started making the matcha, it was quite delicious and kept my energy levels up the whole day.
