Incredible little drone – easy to use and great quality
Really impressed with this drone. Setup was straightforward and it’s surprisingly easy to fly, even if you’re new to drones. The controls feel responsive and stable, and it holds position well. The video quality is excellent for the size – really sharp and smooth, especially in good lighting. The Fly More combo is definitely worth it as the extra batteries make a big difference. It’s compact and easy to take out with you, but still feels well built. Battery life is decent and charging is quick enough to keep you going. Not much to fault at all – great bit of kit for beginners and anyone wanting something portable with good video quality

A fantastic beginner drone - perfect for a first time drone flying and video capture experience
I purchased the DJI Neo 2 after seeing several YouTubers share their use of the drone for outdoor pursuits such as mountain biking, trail running and hiking. I can only say I wish I had purchased sooner and had opportunity to use it on a recent hiking trip to Mallorca - it would have been perfect for this. Plus points from me - for non-techies or first time drone users this must be the easiest, safest and most stable drone to use - I am so impressed with the hand gesture functions, and the ability to simply power up and fly even without use of your mobile phone or any other controller. The onboard options such as follow me modes / circle / helyx etc are very easy to toggle through , adjust parameters (distance etc) and select. All my drone 'pilot' flying fears have disappeared and newbies will immediately gain confidence due to features such as obstacle avoidance and the drones simplicity of use. I can see myself growing into more advanced use cases as time goes on. I have used the drone twice so far and in average to poor light (UK winter!) - the video captured is more than adequate but starts to look grainy in very low light - to be expected. I expect the image quality to be very decent for my hobbyist (non-professional) youtube travel and outdoor sports activities in good light. The only faff I had was not realising I had to complete the in app tutorial before gesture control would be activated. I found this out when googling 'reasons why gesture control is not working' - even then I do not recall seeing any obvious mention of this anywhere within the quick start or more in depth documented guides - perhaps DJI may want to update their 'unboxing' instructions as this did cause me 24 hours of annoyance. This however is not a reason to dock a star in my review - the battery life is adequate although I expect to use all 3 of the batteries supplied each time I go out with the drone. So well done DJI, a great product at a sensible price with fantastic pre-set drone flight features for newbie drone flyers, especially those whose primary focus is on their outdoor pursuit rather than the drone flying itself. Simply brilliant!

Great little drone
Absolutely love my little drone. It’s perfect for just what I needed especially being a beginner. I think it’s great value for money. Although the battery life could be longer but the product does state accuracy, it’s great flight. It takes great video and images, with quality being great. Follows you and can amend the settings including managing manually from your phone. If your looking for a durable drone then this is the product!

Incredible drone for actually documenting activities
I've owned the DJI Mini 4 Pro since release and while I absolutely love it for just flying about manually, getting cinematic shots with the shockingly capable camera, etc, I have always wished it was just a little more convenient to get a quick shot to document an activity such as a hike or a cycle. Bringing a bulky bag with me, then getting the drone out, removing the prop guard, unfolding each prop, powering on, taking the controller out, screwing in the joysticks, powering that on, waiting for them to pair, before finding some flat ground and then waiting for the GPS signal is a long process which has to be done in reverse to pack up and a quick 15 second shot of me walking could take 5-10 minutes. In comparison that same 15 second follow shot with the Neo 2 can be done almost without stopping walking. You simply take it out your pocket, power it on, press a couple of buttons to select the follow mode, then launch, let it get the shot automatically, then you bring it in to land and put it back in the pocket. The convenience is the major selling point and yes it is incredible. You can launch it from the driver's seat of a car out the window, get a quick shot of driving, then land it to your palm again with no fuss. In fact it is so convenient, and DJI expect you to carry it at almost all times, that it has a selfie mode where you get it up in the air, it takes some selfies of you and your group from great angles, then it lands again. If you suggested taking a selfie with a Mini 4 Pro instead of a selfie stick or outstretched arm you'd probably be ridiculed when it takes 5 mins to set up, but the Neo 2 is so quick and so cool, that this is actually a valid and attractive use case. The included automatic flight modes produce some really decent looking footage. The camera isn't as good as a Mini 4 but for most conditions you won't notice a massive difference. The drone is meant for quick shots of you in motion to intersperse amongst other footage - you're not supposed to film a full feature film on it. The obstacle avoidance is excellent as you'd expect from DJI and the prop guards means that a small collision isn't always a crash. The drone gets buffered by the wind a fair bit but it generally does a good job getting stable looking footage. You're meant to fly closer to the ground where this is less of an issue. If you buy the optional transceiver you can use your existing DJI controller with it which is useful occasionally but sort of defeats the point of this drone. If it's your only drone then you can get the odd bit of cinematic footage with it but if you have another drone like me then its best to use that and leave this just for the automatic flights. BEWARE of higher winds. As stated above the drone is best for getting shots close to ground level. I tried to get a cinematic shot of a cliff face with it and while it was calm at ground level the winds were too high for the drone and it ended up being carried on top of the cliff and blown away - it could not overcome the winds to come back. In all fairness it did stay flying despite some violent gusts and never actually crashed but I exhausted a whole battery trying to get it back down the cliff to no avail. In the end I landed it on top and did a 20 minute hike up, all while it kept beeping and transmitting GPS to the controller so I could find it again. I was reunited with it but I now know to not try this again! Battery is OK but not as good as quoted. Expect 10-15 mins per battery in regular windy conditions with prop guards on. But this is more than you expect as unlike a larger drone you generally aren't spending 90 seconds flying it far away into position and then having to take into account the 90 seconds to get back - as you generally fly it right in front of you, you can usually have it up in the air for basically the length of your shot only.

Read before you buy...
Being DJI, you can expect such a well-designed and put together piece of kit. The compact power this packs for the price is brilliant, but beware, it does have some limitations. If thinking of a drone, this is what it's good for and what it's not. Great Portability, so small and light No need for controller or even a phone to operate Perfect for quick selfie type shots and vids Ease of use Durability - it could take a few light knocks and minor crashes Price Not so good Windy conditions - forget the claims, any more than 11mph and it struggles Around other people - it's so noisy Can't turn annoying voice off Short battery life makes this not great for big proper drone flights - big range anxiety (If you are thinking of using for anything other than quick simple selfie stuff and light use, get the full RC controller or goggles) The very bad Yes, I saw the warnings, but used follow, wind dragged it off the embankment, over the edge of the Thames, it got confused and lowered itself into the water to its end. 1 week and £200 down :-( So, not just no over water flying or filming kayaking etc, but do not even go anywhere near the water's edge. One last thing. Ignore insta vids of people catching these things. Those propeller guards only do so much and the blades took a chunk out of my thumb! But, I will buy another one as the Lito X1 I have is far superior, but not great for following you cycling or walking because you can only control out with a bulky RC controller. For that in between ideal, maybe look at the Flip as that performs as good as the Lito, has the simplicity and portability of the Neo 2, but not so good with obstacle avoidance.

Good Quality and Easy to Operate
Bought this as a birthday gift for my son to use together and it’s been great. It’s easy to use, the controller-free palm takeoff works well, and the drone is responsive. The subject tracking is accurate, the QuickShots are fun to use, and the 4K video quality is clear and smooth. Overall, a well-designed drone that’s easy to get started with and enjoyable to fly.

A perfect beginners drone.
I am so impressed. This was my first drone and is perfect if you are a beginner. It’s so easy to use and you don’t even need a smart phone or controller. It can be controlled by the preset modes on the actual drone. If you want to fly it manually you can use the app and it will show you in real time what you can see. The drone is very stable even when windy. Return to come feature works great or you can put your hand out and it will track it and land on your palm. The quality of the camera is amazing. Crisp 4k quality at 30 frames per second. Smooth and stable footage. It has an internal memory and the video and photos are easy transferred to the app and your phone so you don’t need a memory card. It’s safe to use and the propellers have guards on them and it comes with spares. It’s so cheap to buy now the next version is out but this is still great. Battery life isn’t great as it’s a small battery but it can be charged over usb c in about an hour or you can use spare batteries as they are removable. It requires registering and getting an operators id which is about £12 a year. If you are new to drones and need something easy to use to get into the hype then this is perfect.

Amazing little drone
As someone who makes content for a certain well known video site the DJI Neo 2 is a great addition to my camera kit. It gives me addition angles to use. Show my location from a completely different perspective. It offers fantastic value for money. For under £300 you get the drone, three batteries and a charger. You can operate it via hand gestures or use the preprogrammed routines. You want the drone to fly in a circle around you with a distance you set then it can do that. You want it to follow you from height, side or distance that again you choose then it can do that. It is stable in light winds and the control at a base level with the hand gestures and preprogrammed features then it’s fantastic. The image quality is great. Maybe not the best there is but then you would be paying a lot extra for that. But still at 4K its is surprisingly good for the price point. I have previously owned a drone before. The DJI Spark and whilst at the time that was average to good. This is leaps and bounds above that particular drone. No you don’t get the controller which will either set you back an extra £105 for the RC-N3 where you’ll need to use your phone docked in with the controller. Or the more premium RC2 with its inbuilt 5.5inch screen at £320. Plus you’ll need the antenna at another £19 from DJI’s website which I have also ordered. The controller gives more options like the ability to track your car and fly further away than this base set up. So if like me your thinking of flying further or higher then that’s something you will need to consider buying extra. Right now I’m just getting used to this drone. Using my phone as a controller for limited distance around the area I need. But it is good that the extras like the controller are available separately as and when I need to expand my flying experience. Dont forget that here in the UK you will also need a drone license to fly the Neo 2 legally. This license can easily be found online and costs under £12 and asks you 40 questions. Get the majority correct and you’ll have your own operator ID which you need to get printed ( again online for laminated stickers ) and are then stuck to your Neo 2. The battery life isn’t the best with maybe 10-15 minutes flight time per battery and that’s the main limitation. But having three batteries certainly helps. I don’t think one battery on its own is of much use myself. Because for me I just wouldn’t be able to create all the shots that I need to with just the one battery. The cage around the propellers and the obstacle avoidance system means that this drone is incredibly safe to use and is protected well. You just need a bit of common sense and don’t fly it too close to water either. The obstacle avoidance doesn’t see water all too well and you risk loosing your drone forever should you get too close to the wet stuff. And whilst this drone is somewhat durable I would recommend a hard shell case for it and its accessories. If like me your thinking of getting the RC controller then make sure the case will accommodate that accessory. That way your drone and its accessories will be safe during transport and keep it all together. So to conclude. If your after a drone that is packed with features that you can in future expand upon with the controller. Then this is fantastic and would be a great addition to any film makers arsenal of camera gear. The three batteries is a must. Don’t bother with the single battery and drone combo. That battery will soon run out and you’ll be forever recharging it to get the shots and experience you’ll need to fly it. I am a massive fan of the DJI range of products with also owning the DJI OSMO POCKET 3 and the DJI OSMO ACTION 5 PRO. This is as good as them and I am more than happy with the DJI NEO 2 being in my kit bag.

Good start FPV drone
Pretty good and easy to use; Sadly there’s many laws in Japan and is very difficult to use it outside your own house. The setup was simple and the quality of the camera is acceptable. Wind can be a issue. Flying in manual mode is a challenge.
