Small & Amazing
My Laptop is quite old and only a dual core Intel CPU. I am finding that it struggles to play newer movies as I am told that the latest compression routines need a quad core CPU to play smoothly. I was struggling to justify spending another £400 for a new computer as I only watch movies and surf online and really, my old laptop is perfectly adequate for surfing online. A More knowledgeable friend told me about this dedicated media player for a fraction of the £400 cost and I have never looked back since. The Sumvision Micro 2+ is a dedicated media player so it can’t do the other stuff that a laptop can. But for playing media, its dedicated chipset is perfect. It can play all modern movies. music and photos. It has AV and HDMI output so you can plug it into your big screen TVs. Which is of course a damn sight better than watching on a laptop anyway (and sounds better!) It can upscale some older movies I had to 1080p and most importantly, there was no stuttering and blocky artifacts. Being a dedicated media player also mean that it was very easy to use even for a technophobe like myself. It also has some dedicated media functions that I don’t find on my laptop. For example, it has a dedicated subtitles button that allow you to adjust the font, the size, the colour and the position of your subtitles. It also seems to work a lot better than my laptop which sometimes cannot render some subtitles. The laptop seems to dislike certain subtitles and just give out random symbols and gibberish. I could never work out why it does that, but this player renders all my subtitles perfectly. This is really good media player and the very small size makes it easy for me to take my movies watching with me on holidays. Definitely 5 stars out of 5!

Outstanding 4K Media Player - Perfect for Display Advertising using small budget
I recently purchased this 4K media player for our retail store, and it has exceeded all our expectations. Here’s why I highly recommend it: """Auto Player Functionality"" The auto player function is a game-changer for us. We use it to display advertisements in our shop, and it works seamlessly. Once set up, it automatically plays our media files without any manual intervention, which is perfect for a busy environment like retail or shopping mall. ***Upscaling to 4K""" One of the standout features is its ability to upscale files to 4K. Our promotional videos look incredibly sharp and vibrant, drawing the attention of customers effortlessly. The quality of the upscaled videos is impressive, making our advertisements look professional and engaging. ***Automatic Aspect Ratio Adjustment*** The auto aspect ratio adjustment is another fantastic feature. It automatically adjusts the video to fit the screen perfectly, whether it's a widescreen TV or a standard display. This ensures that our content is always displayed correctly without any distortion or black bars. """Extensive File and Codec support """ This media player supports a wide range of file formats, including MKV, and both H.256 and H.264 codecs. This flexibility allows us to use various types of media files without worrying about compatibility issues. The playback is smooth and without any glitches. """Massive Storage Capacity"" The support for up to a 8TB HDD is incredibly beneficial. We can store a vast amount of high-quality content without constantly needing to manage storage space. This is particularly useful for long-running advertisements or a diverse range of promotional materials. Overall, this 4K media player is an excellent investment for any business looking to enhance its display advertising in constraint budget The ease of use, coupled with advanced features like upscaling, automatic aspect ratio adjustment, and extensive file support, makes it a top-notch choice. Highly recommended!

Nice Gadget, Bad Remote Control!
It is an intuitive gadget as I was able to watch movies in .avi, .mkv and .h264 format. The remote is terrible. This almost prevented me from buying it but I could not find a better alternative that can play movies in so many formats. I found that you need to point at the front of the player which is not very easy since it's tiny. I just wonder why they could not make it in such a way that it can detect signals from the remote within a radius of a meter around the player! It is frustrating to have to press a couple of times before the little player responds. This reduces the funny but I must admit, it is still well worthy the money. Is there a better remote control that one can purchase separately (assuming it's less than £10)? Most of my videos files have the .avi and a few are in .mkv and .h264 file extensions. I like converting .mp4 files into .avi or .mkv because even my favorite media player does not enjoy .mp4 file extensions. I have so far played more than 10 video files and I experienced no problem with any of the files. I also played a number of mp3 and wma files. I think you need to be careful when removing a USB Stick. I ended up separating it into two exposing the circuit board. Apparently it has no screws to hold it so when I pulled the usb flash drive, the whole front cover with the circuit board separated from the casing. I was scared but when I pushed it back, and tried it it still worked. I like how it treats photos. I just opened the Picture folder and expected to press next each time to advance the cursor. Instead the player played a slide show of the photos, with nice transitions. I did not check setting so I guess it was using default settings. Previously, I used to hook up my laptop to a Plasma TV via an HDMI cable. This was cumbersome because I had to move the Laptop from another room to the Living Room. Now, the whole family can share movies without heavy lifting. I recommend this even though the remote control is less than good. I think it's benefits far outweighs its flaws. Unless you can find one that can paly all files this one can play and has a good remote control, this is the way to go.

Not reliable
Used primarily for playing videos and pictures, initially worked well but over the past year files it played well before it struggles to play. Many video playback errors which are very frustrating. At this point, just over a year old it's not fit for purpose and I'm looking for something more reliable

This Cyclone Micro is great value for money, works perfectly and easy to use.
This great little Cyclone media player from Sumvision does exactly what it says on the tin! It is so easy to set up and so easy to use. I connected an HDMI cable to my TV, plugged in the power supply, installed a USB stick and it was ready to go. The setup is really simple - even though there is a good instruction manual (OK the English is not the best) you really don't need it. I set mine up to play some DVD files (in VOB format) from the USB stick. I wanted it to boot automatically into playing the first VOB file, then another 7 files, without any user intervention. It took me less than 2 minutes, and it worked perfectly. Didn't even need to press the power key when I plugged it in - it just played almost instantly! So its great for constantly repeating videos such as window advertising, etc. BUT - its also great for normal playing of all major video formats as well as MP3, WMA and FLAC. And the video/audio quality is excellent right up to 1080p HD, whether playing from an external hard drive, USB or SD card. The remote control is compact but easy to use with clear key label. This media player comes with cables for analogue and digital video/audio but you'll need to buy an HDMI cable - I use the Amazon basic HDMI cable which is good quality and value for money.

This upgraded version is much better to use.
A great little video player, and for me, a big improvement on the earlier versions. First off, if using just for a video player is really a simple plug and play set up via an HDMI cable. For those new to media players of this kind, before you play a video, you go to settings, and choose "Display Resolution" then t video format, for example 1920x1080 30 if you TV is 1080p and the video is 30 frames per second (see attached picture). On this upgraded version on my 20 year old LG 32 inch TV, I even get dedicate 25p and 30p framerates too, along with the regular 24/50/60p. But not on a more modern TV where the options are simply 50p for pal regions or 60p if not a pal region. It does handle 4K (2160 UHD) probably best to have the player's "Display Resolution" set to Auto for this. For me I film videos in 4K (actually 2160p) at 30p but TV is 1080p and this media player set to "1920x1080p 30p" and the video still plays very smoothly. This also allows me to preview the same video file I intend uploading to the web etc, without the need to make a smaller 1080p version just to preview it. It plays most video formats too, including H.265, and older file formats. One big drawback for those used to the older models, it does not like very large Hard Drives with 100s of folders, it takes a time for the contents to show. To get around this, I'm using high capacity SSD high speed sticks with videos in folders and it works great, I'm currently using a 1TB high speed one (as seen in one picture) and this works perfectly. Yes I do recommend this product, especially as now I can keep my own footage video library all in their as shot format, even after editing.

Not too bad but not too good either.Hard to recommend.
I have been using the Micro 2+ for a while now, I purchased this after my Sony bluray usb started getting sound drop outs.. Few pluses for the Micro2+ but few minuses too... Sound quality - This did not recognize the composite video or audio with the cable provided or any other cable so I used coaxial cable provided which worked so used that. The only thing is sound has to be turned up via amp quite considerably - good sound separation and good clear centre speaker sound, very clear speech sound. Picture quality varies, seems the bigger the tv set used the lower the resolution - i tried the micro2+ on my bedroom 32 inch and picture was not sharp - on my living room 42 inch hd the picture looks out of focus. If you use the zoom on the remote you can see the picture sharpness worsen the larger you go.Colours seem muted and on sky scenes the blue's look faded. Not too happy about the picture quality at all.Picture is very dark too, i had to turn the brightness right up on my tv and there is no menu on the Micro 2+ to do this with.I would say forget the Micro2+ if you are using it on a large screen tv.Picture looks un natural and very digitized on any size tv. On the plus side, like i said good sound seperation , very small - tiny.Handles most formats with no problem, remote works well but takes a round battery which can be a pain to find and replace - seems a lot of people have issues with the remote but mine works well and is easy to use.All in all not too bad but at the same time hard to recommend, I won't be sending this back but I will be looking for something better than this - you certainly get what you pay for.Glad I only paid £21 for this on amazon.co.uk..Would rate this average 5/10.....

The Best Thing Since The Wheel!!!!!!!! Awesome Media Player
What impressed me more is the item itself. What a fantastic piece of micro-electronics! Very small, very light, yet quite solid. It's been over 2 weeks I have been testing the Cyclone Micro 2+ and it works like a charm! I have attached a 2tb hard drive form which I have music & movies and it plays flawlessly. I have a Iomega media drive aswell and I love the Cyclone due to it's ability to read long file names, the file name scrolls if it is too long so you can see the full name. There is only one little thing that is a little dissapointing and a few have already pointed this out, the remote is an improvement from previous ones but the range and angle is poor. you have to point it directly at the unit to get a good response. However, on the plus point, I have compared the unit with my Iomega Media drive on standard def tv using the same file and it seems that the Cyclone Micro 2+ displays a better image quality. On HD tv, what can I say? Absolutely superb images, great colour, darks don't appear as pixalated as with my Iomega drive. All in all, if you need a gadget that will play media files from various sources, THIS IS THE ONE TO GET!!!! I'm going to order a couple to give as gifts to family. Why spend more than you need for quality playback from multiple sources? Just get this Cyclone Micro 2+. To those who have given bad reviews on this product, sorry you guys must have been unlucky to recieve faulty units, like I said above, I have been testing this thing out for 2 weeks and it has been running for 18 hours on a few occasions and not a glitch. Great stuff, thumbs up to Sumvision!

Macht genau was er soll
Man sollte hier einfach keine Illusionen hegen!

PARFAIT

Grande Amazon!
