Excellent joist repair solution
During a recent kitchen renovation I noticed a damp patch on my floorboards; on closer inspection I found that three of the floor joists had several inches of wet rot where they met the old, long since removed, hearth. After a worrying couple of days I found a solution to the problem in the shape of these joist repair plates. Fixing is a relatively simple job of lifting the joist slightly - courtesy of my car jack- sawing off the rotten bit, painting with wood treatment and screwing these plates to either side of the joist end - literally half a days work for the three joists. At £100 for three, and a few hours effort, well worth it. I would advise asking for extra coach screws however. Fast delivery, a day ahead of the earliest expected date.
