Yes, but a more appropriate broad knife would be better. It is rather narrow for a cake cutting job. It cuts bread well.

What is the length of the knife? I bet that if 20cm is the blade, 'product dimensions' above refer only to the box

Does this have botha right handed and left handed shaped blade, most knives are right handed and I'm left handed so always cut things wonky.
