Jura make some very palatable single malt Scotch whiskies. I paid a fair price for this bottle which was a bonus. Makes an excellent gift for warming the old bones of your favourite grandad. That was a hint, dahlings! 😁

This is a lovely expression of Jura whisky, an aged spirit with noticeable sherry cask finish. The liquid is a dark amber/cherry red. The nose gives caramel with honey and nuts. Tasting gives more of the honey and sweet toffee feeling very smooth and well bodied. A great 40% ABV single malt, I have bought this more than once and would recommend to anyone.

Quality at a reasonable price. Good flavour and only slightly peaty if you don’t want a Malt too strong.

A mellow and smooth scotch with no standout flavours (to me at least) a light sweet note from the Sherry cask and a bit of smoke at the very end but nothing too powerful. Pleasant drank neat, warm or cooled or mixed with coke or your mixer of choice. It’s an ok whisky but I don’t think it’s worth it at full price. I got it because it was down to £25 and while it’s a nice whisky I’d rather have bought a bottle of monkey shoulder or Aldi’s own islay single malt with that money. If you’re creating an infinity bottle with your whiskies I would say this is a good option to bulk it out a bit given the relatively neutral and smooth flavour.

This is now my 3rd bottle of Jura 10 in as little as 5 weeks, that in it's self should tell you it's good, but if not allow me to explain why I like it so much.... I will start with the fact I stopped drinking whiskey over 20 years ago and preferred vodka (good vodka), I don't mix spirits instead drink them neat as the maker intended, but recently the Jura brand caught my attention due to it being recommended by Amazon, and the Jura 10 was on offer so I thought I'd give it a go. Once the bottle is open the nose becomes something that would awaken summer in springtime, the notes are just intoxicating, and ones thoughts soon drift to a place of richness and comfort. The first sip has the lips tingle then the unmistakable feeling on the tongue of many miniature violinists playing the most amazing symphony on your senses, soon after the flavours kick in like a warm hug from a chocolate covered panda bear. The following day I kept on remembering the taste and just couldn't wait to pour a wee dram, sit back and relive the concofenee of sense stimulating events.
