Not a whisky snob
I like scotch whisky. You have a glass you drink it, take in the flavour, the smell, the colour as well. You either like it or you don't. I like Macallan but not the price. I prefer the Speyside malts but that is my personal taste. Everybody is different. Copper Dog is a lovely blend of single malts and at the price of £22 is great value. It is much smoother and richer than all of the supermarket branded Speyside single malts I have tried. I also buy a bottle of Laphroaig (Leapfrog) every now and again for a wildly different taste of scotch whisky. That is like a good hard slap across the face.

At £22 it's superb
A really easy, smooth drinking Speyside with classic sweetness - it's comparable to a budget Aberlour 12 or Tomatin 12 (subtle sherry flavours and big sweetness). At £22 it's a no brainer, at £27 if you like Speyside it's still an okay deal. Copper Dog really push this as a mixing whisky in their promo material but it's a great whisky to have straight. There's news that the company has been acquired and the recipe may change (early 2019) which should be kept in mind for future buying, but perhaps the flavour will remain the same.

6/5 stars
Got this for less than £20 and it's better than many twice the price. Some people may be familiar with cgars Ltds cigar malt whisky. This has a very similar flavour profile, but somehow more refreshing. Although it says no less than 8 single malts are married together in an old oak cask to make this, I can pick out the rich creamy sweetness one gets from heavily sherried whisky, similar to Aberlour 12 or redbreast 12. And the fact is, it's incomparable to whisky of the same price because of its beautiful complexity.

Good value
I’ve been to the Copper Dog At Craigellachie a few times. This is good value for money, if I’m honest I’d rather have something that cost 3 x the price and was really special but what you get with this is a drinkable fairly decent blended malt which you really can’t knock for the cost of it. Probably won’t buy it again despite the fond memories of the actual place it was made for but not disappointed i gave it a go.

A great find.
I’m a member of a whisky club and often get special offers and deals. My rules are it has to either be cheaper than Amazon or be something I can’t buy on Amazon so I was doing my Amazon checks and I stumbled across this little beauty. I’m a bit wary of some single malt blends because I’ve been disappointed in the past but, reading the good reviews, this whisky sounded right up my alley. So, I took a gamble and I’m so glad I did. Whoever blended this is pure genius. It’s mellow but full of character and VERY drinkable. Drink with a mixer if you must but personally I prefer to drink it straight, which I always think is a sign of a good spirit be it gin, rum, or whisky, etc. Will definitely be purchasing again in the future.

The name sold it to me!
Bought this as a fundraising prize for our local Dog Club. The winner got in touch to say that this whisky was very enjoyable, mellow and warming after their day out. They sat out in the evening having a dram!

True description of "an easy-drinking scotch"
It is a very true description of "an easy-drinking scotch". This whisky has to be by far my favourite whisky I have tasted to date and it is very reasonable also. This whisky is very much so value for money.

Lively younger Speysiders
Not often a fan of blended malts and this is a mix of eight lively Speyside youngsters. However, the sherry cask comes through and it has a pleasant after-burn. I thought the brand name was taken from the bar at The Craigellachie Hotel, which is referenced on the bottle. However, the naming convention seems to be aligned to an illicit device that distillery workers used to take whisky from its cask and then smuggle it out past the watchmen and the enjoy the fruits of their labours at home. Who knows the truth of the matter - and after a glass or two, who cares.
