Although many people have stopped eating gluten, it is an important protein for making artisan breads. I use the gluten for making breads from croissants to 9-seeded whole wheat bread. You can simply sift the gluten with the flour. It helps the bread to rise and gives it a great texture. The gluten is packaged in plastic bags with ziplock tops. The size of the bag is perfect for about 5 to 10 loaves of bread...depending on the type of bread. The gluten smells and tastes fresh and hearty. I used to get gluten at the high end grocery store....but they stopped carrying it. I am grateful that Amazon continues to make this ingredient available.

It’s good enough price and quality to order on short notice when one runs out, and is short of enough cash to order a 25 lbs or 50 lbs bag, but this is expensive, just not as expensive of those silly brands that treat every common ingredient as if you were buying caviar. As I eat this everyday turned into seitan for about half my calories I have to buy.

I made gluten steaks..they turned out amazing.... they were delicious. The texture was great..n the vwg was so easy to work with the other ing...cooked up wonderfully!!!
